A Kobo ereader will likely have you reading a lot more. In fact, the newest ereader in their lineup, the Kobo Nia, with its slim, no frills approach, is all about what you are reading rather than what you are using to read. It’s light enough for anyone to hold for prolonged periods and small enough to fit into a pocket or a handbag. And it’s going to be a great prize for two people who read through my short article and enter this contest.

You won’t want to put down the Kobo Nia ereader

I love reading as much as I love writing. I have done plenty of both in my life. Of course, my job as Editor in Chief of the Best Buy Blog requires me to write a lot of articles—and read even more articles. However, I still make time for writing and reading as a pasttime; not as much as I would like to or as I did in the past, unfortunately. You see, I once had a Kobo; that was when I was writing and reading a lot. One of the first things I did after I finished writing my first novel was to upload it to my Kobo. I was so used to reading on the Kobo that I found it much easier to read and edit my own books on the Kobo too. I found it really helped my creative process.

The fact is, when you have a Kobo, you will likely get more interested in books. Partly, it’s the convenience; partly it’s the ease of picking it up and having thousands of books right there in your hands. I don’t read as much as I used to—as I said, my Kobo was stolen. It’s about time I go out and buy another one!

What will you read first on the Kobo Nia ereader

Do you have more than one book on the go at any one time? I always have more than one that I’m reading. The Kobo Nia is perfect for people like you and me since all your books can be in one place. The first book I’d put on an ereader is Kazuo Ishiguro’s “The Buried Giant.” I rarely get into fantasy type stories but I’m about 100 pages in and this one has me hooked. I would likely add a few of Ishiguro’s books now that I know I love his writing style.

Of course, you could add books to any Kobo: they have models that are waterproof, models with bigger screens … so choose the one that works for you. Ted recently reviewed the Kobo Nia and he pointed out many of the features found in the range of Kobo devices, but emphasized that the Nia is perfect for what you need it for: reading. Read his review, decide on an ereader, then load it up with books or get a subscription from Kobo and open your world to books, books, and more books.

  1. Thanks, Martin.

  2. Kobo Libra H20.. is my preference.. and I can use it on the subway… I would love to read more books in general.. open to suggestions…

  3. I love to read. But in a house of 9 people 3 dogs and 4 cats I seem to always have to stop and put my book down. I often lose my spot on the page. With a Kobo Nia e reader the problem would be solved.

  4. I love Kobo ereaders, in fact I would never consider any other type of ereader, especially since I download most of my reading from the library. Right now I have a Kobo Forma and it is the best so far. I love the bigger screen and thin design. When I get a new ereader the first thing I do is download my favourite series – one of my favs is the Kate Daniels series the first book is Magic Bites – series by Ilona Andrews.

  5. I would love to win this “Kobo Libra H2O 7″ Digital eReader with Touchscreen (N873-KU-BK-K-EP) – Black”, and the first book I would read is “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man”.

  6. I would like the Kobo Libra H20 because I don’t have an ereader and would like one. The first book I would add and read would be Extreme Prey by John Sanford.

  8. I’m actually not sure which kobo is my favourite since I’ve never used one (yet) but they seem so convenient! I think the Kobo Libra H2O seems like it haha oils win my heart because I love to read outside and it’s great that it’s waterproof! I’m in the mood to read something a little spooky so I would pick something classic from Stephen King.

  9. My favourite KOBO is the Kobo Libra H2O 7″ Digital eReader w/Touchscreen because it is easy to read, waterproof and has great storage plus I can borrow ebooks from the library for free. If I had one, the first book I would add is The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.

  10. I’d pick the Kobo Libra. As I age, I need something easier to hold – it’s larger. I’d be picking anything Canadian to read. I’ve never read the Handmaid’s Tale.

  11. Looks like I can take this reader to the beach and I would like that: Kobo Libra H2O 7″ Digital eReader with Touchscreen.
I would read ‘I Owe You One’ by Sophie Kinsella!

  12. I’m thinking the Kobo Libra would be my favorite because it has a slightly larger screen. If I had an ereader the first book I would add is Trickster Drift by Eden Robinson.
