With the E3 2015 show floor now open, I made a bee line over to the Nintendo booth to gets some hands-on time with their hottest upcoming releases for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. I had a chance to check out many games shown on Nintendo’s online streamed Digital Event, including Mario Maker, Yoshi’s Woolly World, Star Fox Zero, and more. Let’s take a look!

Summer doesn’t officially start until June 21st but depending on where you are in the country, you’ve been hit with your first heatwave already. Vancouver recently enjoyed it’s first 30 degree day of the year and it looks primed to be a hot summer from here. One thing was clear from watching Sony’s PlayStation E3 2015 Press Conference: they have games for everyone on the horizon. From action titles like Uncharted 4, to fighting games like Street Fighter V, to the incredible announcement that the most universally acclaimed role-playing game of all time—Final Fantasy VII—are all coming to PlayStation! 

At Microsoft’s Xbox E3 2015 keynote address, the company unveiled what they described as the “Greatest Holiday Games Lineup in Xbox History”. With games like Halo 5, Forza Motorsport 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition all coming this fall I can’t help but agree–this is going to be the best holiday ever for Xbox fans!

Earlier today during their E3 press conference, Microsoft announced plans for Xbox 360 backwards compatibility on the Xbox One. Starting with a 21 game pilot program, you’ll have the opportunity to play titles on a virtual software version of the 360 and earn achievements, play online and more! Last night Bethesda brought their A game, or should I say games, to the Dolby Theatre in north Hollywood, officially kicking off the E3 2015 press conferences. What a show it was, delivering exciting updates on hugely anticipated games like Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, as well as confirming releases for DOOM and Dishonored 2!

Nintendo kicked off E3 2015 in a huge way yesterday with the first Nintendo World Championships in 25 years! The event saw sixteen competitors do battle in eight Nintendo video games—including modern hits, nostalgic classics, and even a new game reveal!

The world of VR is about to explode; leading the charge is the world’s largest social media company, Facebook, and their newest acquisition in the space: Oculus VR. Last week Oculus unveiled their plans to unleash their consumer VR Headset, the Oculus Rift. But that’s not all!
