The new BB-1X is a great tool for the bassist in both live and studio situations. The pedal gives you a couple of EQ knobs, (low and high) a drive knob and a blend knob to dial in a mix of the affected and direct sound before it goes to the amp. The BB-1X also sports a TRS out so that you can send the output of the pedal directly to a mixer in addition to your amp.
Features:
- Contains BOSS’ latest distortion, which adapts to every register and never muffles your low end
- Blend knob allows for mixing the direct signal with the effect signal
- Independent Low and High knobs for ultra-wide tonal adjustment
- Two output jacks: a normal output for a bass amp and a Line Out for a balanced connection directly to a PA or recorder
WAZA Craft
The Japanese term “Waza” apparently loosely translates to “art and technique”. Boss has taken some classic pedals, tweaked them a bit added a couple of extra features and made sure to construct them with all analogue circuitry.
There are three pedals in the Waza Craft line, The BD-2w Blues Driver, SD-1w Super Overdrive and the DM-2w Delay.
All three of these pedals were tweaked by the original engineers and given some extra bells and whistles so that guitarists can enjoy the classic sound and response of these effects AND get a modern twist if they desire.
I’d love to take that Waza Delay for a spin!
I’d also love to see Best Buy bring in some higher-end model powered pedal boards… or maybe read a review about thoughts on some of the pedal boards that they do carry, hint hint
