This year again, we’re thrilled to offer Canadian elementary schools the chance to apply for grants of up to $10,000 through our Best Buy School Tech Grant program.
Whether you want to upgrade tech resources or launch an E-Sports program, this is your opportunity to inspire the next generation. Don’t wait—applications are open now, and the deadline is October 10th, 2024.

The Best Buy School Tech Grant program aims to help Canadian elementary schools with grades ranging from kindergarten to grade 8 bring new technology into their classrooms. We believe that access to the latest technology inspires creativity, collaboration, and engagement in the classroom. With these grants, we strive to help equip schools with the tools they need to help their students thrive.
Who can apply?
This program is open to:
- Any publicly funded elementary school in Canada in need of new tech to help students excel.
- Elementary schools with grades ranging from Kindergarten to grade 8.
- Schools in need of new tech to help students excel.

Three grants available
General Tech Grant
Apply to get a grant of up to $10,000 to purchase essential tech products. This general Best Buy School Tech Grant is designed to enhance learning experiences and ensure that all elementary school students have access to the technological resources that support their growth.
Google Chromebook package
Empower your students with a classroom set of Chromebooks. This year, we are offering a classroom set of Chromebooks worth $10,000. Apply to get access to Google’s latest technology and set your students up for success.
E-Sports Grant
Do you want to boost your elementary school’s E-Sports program? Best Buy Canada’s E-Sports Grant offers $5,000 to public elementary schools to start or grow your E-Sports program. Use the funds to transform your space with top-notch tech like gaming consoles, computers, software, or other related equipment.
How to apply
The application process is straightforward. Simply follow the steps below:
- Review the rules: Read our rules to learn more about the program and make sure your school qualifies.
- Prepare your application: Get your school staff, teachers, parents and/or school board leadership involved in drafting your proposal.
- Apply online: Submit your online application by October 10, 2024, 11:59PM PST.
- Wait for the results to be announced: Grant recipients will be determined by a panel of Best Buy Canada employees. Results will be announced in January 2025.
