  1. In my family my stuffing is always gushed over. I’m even asked to make it for pot-luck e. The funny thing is…
I hate stuffing. I won’t even taste test it
I make my husband check the seasoning before it goes into the oven
I’ve literally never tasted my star dish.

    Thanks for the chance
I absolutely love the mint green colour
It would look awesome in my kitchen.

  2. Every Christmas, I make mother-in-law’s secret recipe for tarts. Sworn to secrecy, no matter who asks for the recipe!

  3. Every year, my mum makes Christmas cake. With each turn of the spoon, she sends good wishes to a different member of the family.

  4. Making congee (rice porridge) every Christmas day with my mum. Congee was the best way to stretch rice which actually made it a meal you wouldn’t have around new years or to celebrate holidays, but she saw it as a way to reflect on where she was as a child and where our family is now, not having to want for money or food (at least, not that badly!)

  5. This year my niece started her first professional job and the staff do a cookie exchange and she is so excited to be part of this! She came over and asked if we could make her favorite cookies- whipped shortbread for her choice of cookies. Of course I couldn’t say no and it’s so nice to pass on some of my recipes to her as I have taught her how to cook and bake as my sister isn’t into cooking and baking so much so that has become my department! I would love to win a mixer as I would give her my mixer so she would have one of her own. She is a single mom and living on her own and working full time as well as any overtime she can get and I was hit by a car while on my bike and I am still healing and being rehabilitated and not able to work yet so money is tight and it just hasn’t been in the budget to buy one for her. We both enjoy the time we spend together making so many delicious things and my mixer has been a huge part of that.

  6. Our family tradition was helping our grandmother decorate the sugar and shortbread cookies with coloured sugar, icing and those small silver balls that feel they crack your teeth when you bite into them.

  7. My mother used to bake fruit cake, starting just after Halloween. She had an old Sunbeam stand mixer which she used expertly to blend the many ingredients for her cakes. She baked the cakes in her Moffat range while I made sure the 30 amp fuses were at hand, and replaced them when they burnt out from the extended baking time for her many Christmas fruit cakes.
I now bake my bread weekly and make blueberry muffins, banana cakes, bagels [boiled of course!] and angel food cakes, but I can’t bring myself to bake ‘her’ fruit cakes. I could never bake well enough and she always baked ‘by eye’ so the quantities were never exact and I could not duplicate or make credible fruit cake!
That’s my memory of baking with mom.

  8. Every Christmas my Mom would get us all into the kitchen to help her make an Italian desert called “fritole”.

  9. I love making a gingerbread house with my sons every year. They’re all going to be engineers and it is evident in the way they put thought into the structural design of the house! We’ve had our kitchenaid mixer for 15 years now. It’s time for a new one!

  10. I love baking so much and I think that I get better every year. One thing I have strived to do every year is teach my family how to make a new baked good. Sometimes it is even a baked good that I have never tried. It is so sweet to do as a family and the treats taste so much better because they are made with love by all of us.

  17. Our family tradition has been for 75 years. My grandmother started it after her parents passed many many years ago, then my mom now my sister and I make them together. We as a family make perogies together. It is such a joyful time making them together as it reminds us of our grandmother who has passed

  18. I would love a kitchen aid mixer with a dough hook to give my poor hands and arms a rest. We live on a remote island so if your family wants fresh bread it has to be home made. I make it every other day. It’s delicious but hard work. Our only alternative is to buy on the island at $10 for a small loaf and it’s no where near as good as mine.

  19. My mom would make homemade sugar cookies and homemade icing, and we would have so much fun decorating! Our cookies never looked that great, since my mom wold let us kids decorate to your hearts’ content, but they tasted amazing and we had such a great time together.

  20. I remember making gingerbread men with my boys every Xmas. My son has since passed away and I treasure those memories every day.

  21. I entered a photo on facebook under G Nordman Fleury to try win the kitchenaid mixer and pasta attachment

  22. I love making Tourtiere with my Mother-in Law every christmas but her spices are hard to record in a family recipe as she just goes by taste . I also love baking with my kids doing the traditional dainties such as butter tarts and shortbread and gingerbread people but I definately need to follow recipes. I would love a new kitchenaid mixer to help with our family traditions.
-I would love a pasta attachment. Fresh pasta is so delicious.

  23. I have been doing Christmas baking with my grandma since i was 2. we have a lot of fun in the kitchen together.

  24. I would make candy cane sugar cookies (red and white twisted ropes in shape of candy canes, also added some peppermint oil), adorning them with crushed candy canes before baking. My kids really loved them. I think the pasta attachment would be useful; safe my hands from mixing up all my perogy dough.

  25. Our family tradition is making gingerbread men and once they are cooked and cooled the whole family decorates them each year they might not look the best but they sure taste good.

  26. I remember making donuts and Cinnamon Buns with my mother-in-law every Christmas, need a pasta attachment.

  27. My mom makes all kinds of tractional cookies, snowball, cabbage rolls, perogies for that I’m so proud to pass onto my girls, could use a pasta attachment.

  28. My mother would always make yeasted donuts every Christmas, and I miss it very much, a pasta attached would be great

  29. the pasta attachment would be great because every Christmas my wife and I make snowballs, so working and rolling out the dough would help us both

  30. Every Christmas I make sugar cookies with my grandson so he can help roll the dough and sprinkle them with coloured sugar.

  31. I remember making homemade donuts with my grandmother every Christmas. It was such fun as this was the only time of the year she made these special donuts.
