The North Face’s fall collection has arrived at Best Buy, with a great selection of backpacks for both city and mountain life. The fall collection includes handy bags for the whole family, including backpacks designed specifically for kids.
With a little something for everyone, here are five great backpacks that really stand out in this fall collection.
The North Face Backpacks for the city
My favourite bags from The North Face’s fall collection are two backpacks designed for city use. The Day Backpack in Amaranth Purple is a sleek, simple dream, with clean lines and a really cool, cross-textured front.
The Day Backpack is a stylish daypack with a 12L capacity, contoured shoulders traps, and a breathable mesh back panel. It has a fleece-lined inner tablet compartment, and is designed specifically for smaller frames–so you don’t have to worry about an uncomfortable wear. The sides contain hidden zippered pockets, and the front hides discreet lash points.
For the other half of your great city duo, The North Face also offers a 15″ Laptop Day Backpack in Urban Navy that’s perfect for him. It’s over double the size at 26L, with a fleece-lined 15″ laptop sleeve. The Laptop Day Backpack is made from water-resistant textiles, and the back panel is contoured to allow for airflow.
The 26L bag features hidden zippers, side water bottle pockets, and a discreet top handle. It’s also designed for safety and comfort, with reflective elements for low-light adventuring and a sternum strap for even weight dispersal.
The North Face Backpacks for a hike
For a day in the wilderness, The North Face’s fall collection also contains two sporty 15″ 28L Vault Backpacks. The Vault 15′ Laptop Day Backpack in Ketchup Red Emboss/Asphalt Grey and Darkest Spruce are a little roomier than their daypack counterparts, and are ideal for both commuting and travelling.
The 28L Vault Backpacks feature a floating, padded a 15″ laptop sleeve, an internal organizer, and two water bottle holders. (Things can get rough on the trails, so the suspended laptop sleeve adds an extra layer of protection for your tech.) Like the 15″ Laptop Day Backpack, the Vault Backpacks feature a sternum strap as well as “compression-moulded shoulder straps and a padded air-mesh back panel with an integrated spine channel” for extra comfort, even on a hot day.
They’re made from 600D and 1200D polyester for durability, and the water bottle tabs, bike-light loop, and shoulder strap webbing are all reflective.
The North Face Backpacks for kids
Finally, this fall collection features something special just for the kids. The North Face Youth Recon Squash Day Backpack combines the durability of an adult bag with the 17L size (and price) of a child’s bag.
It’s designed specifically for 6-10 year olds and accommodates your standard 9 1/2 x 12″ subject folders. (Did anyone else colour-code their folders in elementary school? I remember my science folders always being yellow, but I can’t remember the rest!)
The Squash Day Backpack also has side mesh water bottle pockets–because making sure your little ones are hydrated is key–and a breakaway sternum strap that’s ideal for children. It also has an external pocket for trinkets and bus passes, as well as a reflective bike-light loop and an internal name tag. The bag is made from 600D and 1200D polyester for extra durability, too–because we all know how rough kids can be on their belongings!
