What you can Win

There will be 6 prize bundles offered on 6 different days. Each bundle is worth approximately $1000 and will contain one gaming console (either and Xbox One or a PS4), a selection of games, and a $100 Gift Certificate from Best Buy (so you put toward the purchase of anything you want from Best Buy including one of the newest games announced at E3). 1. I’ve been a gamer for a good 30 years and I remember as a young kid opening my Christmas present of an Nintendo entertainment system with the ROB robot.  Didn’t use ROB much but I sure enjoyed my NES.  Metroid, Super Mario Bros 3 and Legend of Zelda were my  favorites on that system.   There was no turning back after that.  When Street Fighter 2 came out for the Super Nintendo, my friends and played that for hours on end by doing tournaments.  Great game!   I still loved Nintendo but bought a Sony playstation over a Nintendo 64 back in the late nineties.  I remember seeing Wipeout for the first time and being floored by its graphics.   Same with Gran Turismo, couldn’t have enough of that game with hundreds of cars you can play with.

I’ve gotten a new system with each new generation and I have a Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 at the moment which I both love.  This industry has given me tons of hours of entertainment but now’s the time to hopefully win a new console since some friends have an Xbox one and are constantly talking about the awesome graphics and great games, especially Overwatch which I hear is terrific.

  2. I have been gaming since I was 8 years old. My first experience in gaming was playing NES with my older sisters. At that time my absolute favorite game was Ninja Turtles Two and i used to beg my sister to play two player mode with me. From then on i was hooked on gaming and had at least one console in every generation. I need a new console because I have been stuck on the last generation for a few years now and have not really had the funds to invest in a Xbox One or Playstation 4. Many of the games have not really appealed to me so far this generation this year the slate of games coming to E3 looks extremely impressive. I absolutely love gaming and its a significant part of my life. I often use it as a well to relax after a hard day or to relieve stress and I find it extremely therapeutic. Im particularly interested in Playstation 4 as its line up for games for E3 looks simply amazing, and I am eager to get online and play with friends that have switched to Sony his console generation.

  3. I remember first “gaming” on an ancient “console” of my parents – i think some old Atari thing – that plugged into the TV and had four in-built black-and-white games, including bat-and-ball! After that I remember a BBC model B, Archimedes (Elite!), Commodore 64 and then Amiga with its “3-D” parralax graphics, before I finally joined the “IBM PC” bandwagon. Somewhere along the way was a SNES (pronounced as it is written in the UK, but I told not so here in Canada) – I remember removing the cartridge and blowing into it when the games would not load. Still, that was a great improvement on the BBC Model B, which used a cassette tape player to load – you had to turn the treble up and bass down if you wanted the computer to understand the program! So, that is probably thirty years of gaming. Things have come a long way but I have not kept up. I now use a five-year-old PC to play, but it does not compare to a modern console. I am on flash games and want to upgrade! Time for me to discover what modern controllers, graphics, big-screen immersion and surround sound can do for games – a bit different to bat and ball with line drawings and “ping” sound effects several decades ago! Thanks for the opportunity, this contest idea is awesome.

  4. I have been playing video games for over 6 year using PlayStation three console, but sadly my Play Station three broke and now I can’t play because it’s too expensive to buy a new console. This is why I have been trying to find so many different contests to get a free console but every time I enter a contest I never seen win. It would mean the world to me if I could win a new free console. All my friends keep talking about how much fun they have playing, which is why I want to experience the thrill they get from their gaming consoles. If I win the $100 gift card from a contest I will be entering, I would want to give it to my father for father’s day because he has given me support, love and he is a great friend. I would really want to be good at something that I really like, which is why I hope to win a new gaming console so that I can reach high levels on my video games. The latest game that I played on my Play Station three would be 2K12 and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare and the last time I played them was about 4 years ago. You have no idea how happy I would be if I won a console, games and the $100 gift card. It would make me really happy to have a game console in order to play with my friends and family.

  5. ive been gaming since forever.. as long as i can remember. I remember being, i dont know.. 4 years old, and i was obsessed with this harry potter video game on the old gray PS1 Smiley LOL It was the first game i remember playing.
I recently got a couple older hand me down games for my birthday from a friend, but i dont have a console.. well i do, but all it can do is play netflix, the disk platform is ruined and cannot play games anymore.. due to my old roommate. which is a whole other story lol.
but in the end It would be nice to have a new console, and new games ive had the same ps3 since before 2010 lol.
It would be absoultely amazing to have a new console, im obsessed with gaming and there are so many games i miss playing and also have yet to try.
Thanks for the great oppurunity to win these. you are amazing. goodluck to everyone Smiley Happy

  6. I’ve been gaming since Pac Man first came out, seriously, stop laughing, I was around at the start. These days I don’t do much gaming although I do love it, I have my reasons. 1) my boys laugh at me…really, really hard, tears running down your face laughter…it’s so embarrassing. 2) I just can’t find the time 3) we don’t have a working unit, and yes, that is my fault, I thought that my sons Xbox looked dusty and picked it up off the shelf to vacuum it and dropped it. My son is upset and no one in the family can game till I replace it. I did go to the mall to pick one up but one thing led to another and I got sidetracked by the gorgeous summer fashions. That is reason #4) I am shopping when I could be gaming. I’ve warned my son that when I do replace his Xbox, I will be gaming more and that I would appreciate them not laughing at me so much, he just laughed at that. Anyway, just wanted to say, love Xbox (btw do they come in pink or paisley?), thanks for the contest! Hope to win and one day, my inner gamer will seriously show my boys!

  7. I first started gaming in the 90s with my first console being the Playstation and have been playing ever since. Gaming started as just a casual interest like discussing Pokemon with kids at school but as I got older games became a big part of my life. I have grown up with games forming me like playing Spyro as kid and sharing how we were able to find certain secrets with my brother, going to a friend’s house to play Smash since I didn’t have a N64, and being nervous buying my first M-rated game even though I was old enough. My favourite event as a gamer is E3 i love seeing all the speculation, the reveals, peoples reactions to all the news, and the discussions that happen afterwards. I’m hoping for a lot of new games to be revealed and I hope to win a prize so I am able to enjoy all these new games. I plan to move soon and won’t have spare money to spend on games or a console and winning a prize can help me to continue to enjoy games and help to comfort me in the stress of moving out on my own.

  8. I’d absolutely love a new gaming system! Getting a new console hasn’t been in the budget, so this would be a great opportunity. I’m still using my PS3 all the time (I’m a late convert to gaming. I had a PS2 but I’ve only really gotten into playing in the past few years, so I’m pretty behind: as in, I’m just playing Mass Effect for the first time right now). Anyway, I know it’s coming time to upgrade soon. I’m sure it won’t be long before they stop making games for PS3 altogether.

As I write this my Mom is playing Dragon Age Inquisition. We play simpler co-op games together like the Lego titles (which honestly are a blast; I especially love the Lego Marvel Superhero games) and I “advise” my Mom on single player games. She’s played a rogue in all the Dragon Age games whereas I favour mages. It would be awesome to have a new system to explore, discovering new games and creating new characters.

Gaming has come to mean a lot to me and has become one of my very favourite hobbies. Thanks for this opportunity and I sincerely hope that my entry will be selected.

  9. My name is Saim (gamertag: IpWnUfreely) and I have been gaming since i believe around 4 or 5 when my brother(older) bought a whole bunch of PC games for our family’s Pentium computer. I would literally spend hours and hours just playing those game and even now at the tender age of 19, I still game throughout most of the day. In fact, I am a streamer on twitch.tv/ipwnufreely. I currently own a PlayStation One as well as a PlayStation 3 (never owned a PS2) and over the years, I have played many titles on them. I do not stream any games on the PS3 though because I believe in streaming high quality content and I cannot achieve that when I play outdated games on 30fps with occasional frame drops. I want to become a better streamer and showcase content that viewers will enjoy even more. To be able to do that, I require a new console. If I happened to win this giveaway, this would help me grow my channel as well as allow me to play exclusive PS4 only titles which, otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to afford. Thank you for your consideration! Smiley Very Happy

  10. I have been a gamer, since 2009. I first experienced my first HD game experience was at someone’s house who had Uncharted 1. The best game, graphics and that water detail. It was amazing and after that moment I somehow managed to get my own ps3 and games. I used to be a Cod player then moved onto single player games that sometimes came with an online option, but did not play it. I cared more about the storyline over the online gaming community. I played GTA 4 and 5, which was incredible. During that time, I was playing mmorpg games as well on my PC. The days my parents were using the televisions and went on my PC and gamed more. I really enjoyed that playstation community because all my friends had it. We would play zombies from black ops and verse each other to see whose better and make fun of the loser. I had a ps2 as well, but I don’t really considered that to be gaming it did not have the online side during that time. It was fun because of the storyline and when you turn it on that introduction that appears hoping the system still works. Blowing on the CD or on the PS2 if it didn’t work and magically worked after that. The several MB saving slots that we had to use carefully. I am really in love with the playstation if you haven’t been able to tell yet! I really hope I win this prize. All the contest I enter, I never win anything I hope Best Buy changes this strke.

  11. I started gaming in the mid 2000s when my dad bought me and my brother a PS2. We played the Sly Cooper games non stop and they still retain the title of our favourote games. However, being huge Star Wars fans, we also played a lot of LEGO Star Wars, and Battlefront 2. We would sit down in the basement for hours playing CTF on Hoth or Kahyyk, and have a blast. I want a new PS4 so that I can relive similar memories with him with new games on a new system. Because to me, gaming is not about the level or the achievements, it is about the memories you make and the experience you have playing with your friends and family

  12. Well, i’ve been gaming since i was a small kid obviously. I remember that everyone had the new next generation console when it first came out. My friends and even my cousin had it first. When i got the playstion one as my first console, Sony was releasing the playstion 2. My first games on the playstation one were Crash Bandicoot 2, and i loved it so much that i bought Crash Bandicoot 3 with my own money. The playstation one console was also where i found out about RPG games like Final Fantasy VII, but my first RPG game was parasite eve which i rent it from the video store. I got my hand on the Final Fantasy VII from a friend at school who let me borrow it for a while. He also gave me a step by step walktthrough each time i went back to school so i could finish the game faster, but i never knew that this game was so so long. When i played it, i was on the first cd all the time, and i never thought that a game would’ve take me more than 50 hours to finish it. I also got my playstation 2 console when the PS3 was out, and now i’ve just bought my PS3 console recently when the price was cheap because the PS4 is out.

I always been a step behind with the next gen console, and i know i’m going to have the PS4 sooner or later, maybe when the PS5 comes out. Right now, i’ve just switch my normal TV for a smart HD TV. So i’m almost ready for the PS4, i just need the Final Fantasy VII remake, and i can finally relive the game in full HD. (Been waiting for so long now)

  13. ive been playing video games since im a little girl. it has always been a part of my life, the first “console” i got was a game boy and i immediately fell in love, i got a nintendo ds too. it was so awesome i could go play with it all day and i remember that yoshi was my favorite character ever. there was something about videogames that made me detach away from reality and it just felt so good. as i became a little bit older i got a wii for christmas and i used to play all day to mario kart with my sister. by now i only have a ps3 and it made me discover a wonderful game called the last of us. this game changed my life and i had so much more appreciation towards the art of videogames. i love gaming so much that i legit finished the uncharted series in 1 week and i wouldnt mind winning this ps4 to finally play uncharted 4! i would be so happy to win this you have no idea how much i talk about the new uncharted game in a day. i really need this console please make a girl happy here!

  14. Daily Entry for June 11: So by now you know I’ve been gaming since I was a kid in the 80s, and I’ve had an Atari 2600, a NES, and today, I’ll talk a bit about my next system: the Gameboy. Yup, I still remember receiving it for my 10th birthday . . the presents went like “clothing, clothing, clothing, socks, clothing, clothing . . GAMEBOY?!!” My parents had managed to snag one of the hottest toys of the year, and soon enough, as the commercial went, I was Tetrisized. Tetris was the only game I had for a long time, so I played it everyday everywhere non-stop . . well, almost non-stop because my dad played it too and it remains the only game that he beat before I did! I remember being so upset with jealousy that day when he showed me those dancing Russians and that rocket ship. Eventually, I did get more games, from Super Mario Land to Double Dragon, and played that Gameboy until the screen literally fell out. Then I replaced it with a Gameboy Color and discovered Pokemon, which I was obsessed with through most of my college years and I still partly blame it for lowering my grades (that, and Goldeneye 64. Smiley Tongue ) But to this day, I still have fond memories of Tetris, and recently learned that it’s great for improving your game. So I’ve started playing Tetris On-line with people from around the world, which has been nostalgalisticful fun! But what would be even more fun is if I won this new game console and had more power to play something other than Tetris (which is basically all my super slow computer can run. My computer is so slow, I’m even having trouble typing this because the cursor key keeps pausing to process. Ugh!)

  15. Holy Batman, I have been gaming on & off for about 5 years. I don’t have much in life. No money, girlfriend, friends, house, life, job, career, future, hope. I never had the proper , appropriate gaming system or gaming console. OMG, jumping Jupiter , I basically for the past few years just make every excuses to go to my cousin’s house so I can couch surf, & bum off his gaming console. When he is not around, then I would play all day long. Sometimes it is a total drought if does not allow me to use his machine. And worst tell me to get a job, life & get lost. So my gaming skill level has been steady decreasing due to lack of practice time. I need a new gaming console totally all my own to keep up with the skill & reaction time. Pick me, pick me! Your next winner!!! Show me the money!!! It would be a dream come true and means more to me than anyone else to win. Smiley Sad Starving artist here desperately needs the prize package to have fun and feel alive and inspired again. A life changing experience. Top of my bucket list. Dear Santa: I’ve been nice. My X-Mas wish this year is to win this contest. Thank you for the awesomeness, the contest, and generosity.

  16. The year was 1992 when I held my very first interactive toy, The Nintento Game Boy Smiley Happy. Back then, the gaming industry had just exploded and created a new generation of gamers like myself. No one knew this society would grow and be an influence for any age. And I can tell you, this handheld console changed my life. I was totally immersed in a new world filled with challenges and rewards. How can I not forget “cartridge-blowing”? Smiley Very Happy

As the years go by, more responsibilities began to crept in. I was no longer “cool”, and had drifted apart from the gaming world. Gone were the days of entering a different adventure for several hours on a given day. A quick escape, in a sense, had never been so fulfilling. There was always something to look forward to when coming home.  Alas, that chapter of my life had now been distant to face the mature me. But once in a while, my eyes would chance upon a new generation of gamers. My curiosity would instantly suck me back into that joyous world I had once embraced. For now, I can only comtemplate and yearn for that time to bring back the old me. A jumpstart to immerse myself and be called a gamer, once again. Smiley Wink

  17. I remember vividly playing Pong for the very first time.  It was the late 70’s and up until that point, playing inside was all about card and board games.  My youth changed from that point on!  I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the highly anticipated Atari 2600.  I even made campaign-like buttons to lobby my parents into buying it.  Since those days, I have always anxiously waited for the next console or the next revolutionary game to come out.  Today, my son is an avid gamer like myself and I can see and feel the excitement when we are playing on our Xbox together.  We definitely need an upgrade and this contest would take care of that and then some!!

  18. It started by going to Goodwill stores with my grand parents in the 90’s. They went to look for deals for their children (mostly fabric for clothes and sometimes furniture) but one of my earliest memories is finding and buying a video game system called Atari. It was brand new but without the box, a sticker was still on the logo. My brother was with us and we brought it home and one of the first games we played was pong. Now I have two brothers and cousins that now have current systems (more have Xbox One) that live in different countries and this is my chance to play with them and hopefully create new memories whether it’s by playing video games online or through skype if it’s still available. Right now i hear the PS4 is better than the Xbox One since it has killer games like Uncharted, so i would love the opportunity to win this and play Uncharted 4 with my two brothers through online.

  19. I have been gaming since I was five and a half years old. That Christmas I received a neon green Nintendo 64 gaming system that I thought was the coolest thing I had ever seen. I didn’t have anything that came close to it. I did have a Nintendo Gameboy but was bored with that. That was a pretty exciting Christmas particularly when I got the hang of playing Donkey Kong and my mom or sister played with me. We spent hours completing those different levels. That was my introduction to gaming and I was hooked. I have spent a lot of time and money on gaming systems since then.  I eventually moved on to a PlayStation 3, then to an Xbox and on to an Xbox 360. I have accumulated quite a large collection of games with each of these systems and I never traded or sold any of them. I have the entire collection stored in my basement. Some of my favourite games are Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty. My friends and I played those til the wee hours of the morning. Those games sure are a big advancement from the Nintendo days. Now it is time to kick it up a notch with a new system and another collection of games. I am ready to move on to an Xbox One and start spending more time and money gaming. I can’t wait to play Grand Theft Auto Five and Call of Duty Black Ops III on Xbox One.

  20. I did most of my gaming in the 90s, playing with an old Nintendo with the classic games of Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt. Unfortunately, I haven’t played that much since then as I haven’t bought a new console since then – and even that system was from a garage sale. Winning this prize would be awesome as it would be my introduction to the new technology.

  21. I’ve been gaming ever since I was a kid. Starting with games I barely remember on my uncle’s Genesis, I became an avid fan. One of my favorite memories still has to be getting a PS1 for Christmas, and finding my uncle and dad still awake the next morning playing Hercules and Crash Bandicoot. I have a passion for gaming and the community that it brings together. I’ve shared many memories with friends over late nights with a controller in my hand, and I’d love for this to continue. We’ve watched e3 press conferences for years together, and I have a huge love for not just the games, but the industry itself. I’ve learned a lot about the different developers, specifically Sony. Gaming offers people a chance to go to world’s they’ve never went, live lives they’ll never experience, make friends with inanimate objects, and so much more. Gaming isn’t just something I do, it’s something I take pride in.

  22. I have been gaming since 1979 when I was a teenager. Our family started with an Intellivision home console and later we bought an Atari.  After that came the Nintendo 6. We played Super Mario, Donkey Kong and Tetris.  Our family always enjoyed challenging each other.  I believe the next console we bought was a PlayStation.

We upgraded to PlayStation 2 and then bought many games for it. Our favorite games on our PS2 were Resident Evil, Splinter Cell, Socum II, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.  We played these games for hours on many nights.  Funny how fast the time goes when you’re gaming.

Since then we have not upgraded our console. It would be great to have a PS4 or an Xbox One.  There are many games went want to buy if we had an upgraded console, like Tom Clancy’s The Division.  We also like Fall Out 4 and God of War 3 Remastered.

My nieces and nephews like to come over and play as well. It is always a fun night for everyone when we get together and play.

  23. I remember playing my first game well. It was on a Commodore Pet 4016 back around 1980. This machine has a green monochrome screen. I had to type in games from a hardcover book. We didn’t have a tape drive, or disk drive at first, so the program lasted until the power was turned off. To load another game, we turned the computer off, then back on again, and typed the new game in. Getting a tape drive was amazing! I remember meeting the President of Commodore back around that time. I went to his house and watched 2001, a Space Odyssey. I thought this was the coolest thing ever!

These experiences really stuck with me. Today I program microcontrollers, design electronic hardware, and write scripts for computers. Gaming has always been a part of my life. I mostly play on the PC. The Quake series were some of my favourite games of all time. My console today is a Wii. It gets used a lot, including the GameCube capabilities. One of our favourite games is Hydro Thunder from the Midway Arcade Treasures disc. That’s a boat racing game. My four kids are the ones use the console the most. They’re really excited about Lego Dimensions. They’d love to get it, but unfortunately, it isn’t available for the Wii, only later systems. That’s why I’d like to win this contest. The games in the prize pack would get played a lot too 🙂

  24. @BBYMartin now onto high school…

The summer of Grade 9 was tough for me, I worked full time the entire summer in a factory and it was tough. My father only allowed me to keep back $20 each week from my paycheque and I thought he was a tyrant. Hey, it was my money I earned it…

But then that Christmas came around and a new system from Nintendo had come outt, The Nintendo Entertainment System. I could not believe that I had this quality IN MY HOUSE!!!! the package I bought came with ROB the Robot, the Zapper, Duck Hunt and Gyromite. Both ROB and Gyromite proved to be quite useless but everything after that was amazing. My Dad even loved playing Duck Hunt, I can still picture him yelling at that dof as he snickered at him.

Now, help me pass those type of memories onto my kids…they can have memories of laughing WITH their Dad…WITH, not AT!

    Thanks again #RoadToE3

  25. I’ve been gaming since I was about 10 years old when mom and dad would drag the kids to the mall and my bother and I would end up in the arcade to avoid shopping. Then as I got older, hanging out at the arcade was the ultimate thing to do with your friends on the weekends. I have the best memories of hoping on the city bus and taking the journey to the mall where I’d spend hours at the arcade playing Street Fighter, Double Dragon, and Contra (to name a few). I could really use a new gaming console because I absolutely loved playing all sorts of retro games on my SNES console, but because I’m such a loving aunt, I gave the console and all the games I had to my nephew for his birthday last summer. So now I’ve gone without all of my favourite games for over a year. No Super Mario, Mario Kart, Legend of Zelda, Mortal Kombat, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy, Star Fox, etc, etc. I would love to win a new console from Best Buy and add some new games to my favourites list and perhaps play some old favourites again Smiley Happy

  26. I think I got my first gaming system when I was about 5 years old, around the time Star Wars was released in theaters. One of those crazy pong type systems that you had to use some crazy witchcraft to actually work with your TV. As basic as it was I found myself quickly addicted to gaming and shortly after convinced my parents to get an Atari 2600 VCS (complete with wood paneling!) That was an amazing system and we could rent games from the local video store. From then on it was a sea of different computer and gaming systems. Commodore VIC20, Sinclair Spectrum, Commodore 64, Sega Master System, Amiga 500 and then the jump to PCs for several years. I finally made the jump back to consoles with the GameCube, PS2, Wii, PS3and Xbox 360.

As things tend to do as you get older, life priorities change and along with the birth of our son, time and money needed to be devoted towards him. I find myself in the strange position of sitting out this current console generation for the first time ever. There are games on both platforms I’d love to try (mostly PS4 admittedly) but it’s such a big investment currently it’s not reasonable to do so. So y’know it’d be amazing to win a system and not have to make the decision between food, diapers and other essentials and a current gen system! lol

  27. Ok so a 200 word essay on my love for games and why i need a new gaming console. well where do we start gaming has been apart of my family for a while. i started out by watching my uncle play on his super nintendo and getting to play it at my aunts house and playing super mario brothers to having nothing and getting a playstation and just playing the 3 or 4 games we had on it arena toshinden, iron and blood, and crash bandicoot, to playing the demo games and just playing them out like they were nothing, oh the nostalgia, then the playstation 2 and 3 came out we still had very little i always was the one helping my mom on levels.
I have been playing for about 20 years of my life, loved every moment of it, and why do i need a new console, well alot has happened and now i have the same responsibilities that my mom and have and i would like for my kids to enjoy playing games when we have very little for them. i hear that it has great camera games that they can even play with so if we win we would be very great full. thank you

  28. I have been gaming ever since I was able to hold a controller.  I started with an Atari before becoming a SEGA loyalist.  The first console that I considered my own was the SEGA Master System and to this day many of my favorite games are on the Master System. The Master System was great, large library of fun and good looking games, awesome peripherals, and even 3D.  It was like the ultimate system and it was out 30 years ago.    I went on to have a Genesis, Sega CD, 32x, Saturn and Dreamcast.  Some times I miss how great SEGA was.  One of my favorite game series of all time was Soul Calibur.  After the Dreamcast, I went on to get an Xbox and a PS2 so that I could continue to play the Soul Calibur series.  After some time I then went on to get a PS3 and started the Uncharted series.  Now there is a new Uncharted game and I can’t play it because I don’t have a PS4. While I still play the PS3 often, it would be great to have a newer console so that I could keep up with the new games that are coming out now.

  29. Daily entry for June 12th

Like I said yesterday I remember starting to game with my dad at 3 years old and have many fond memories playing Star Wars Empire Strikes Back on Atari and Super Mario and Super Mario 3 on NES. I went on to love Sonic and play all the Sonic games on Sega Genesis until I received my N64. I was a huge Nintendo fan for the longest time until I started really getting into the Playstation franchise. I played tons of PS1 and PS2 games at my friends houses and then finally purchased a PS3 which opened up my world as an adult in gaming. I really want to share those fond memories with my own kids on a new generation console and know it would really bring us together as a family.

  30. I have been gaming since as long as I can Remeber to be completely honest. I was born in 2001 and I’ve been gaming since I was old enough to hold a controller. For me it all began on the Nintendo GameCube when I used to play Mario kart double dash nearly everyday, back then I didn’t even have a memory card so I would continuously unlock the same Karts every single day or I would leave the system on for three days straight. I think I need this system because I can’t afford to buy the system by myself I’ve been stuck playing my cousin’s play station 3 for atleast 3-5 years now and all of my favourite game franchises (kingdom hearts, call of duty, naruto shippuden ultimate ninja storm, nba 2k) have stepped into the new generation and I’m still left behind trying to catch up. I also really want to try being a YouTuber because I feel I am a very entertaining person to game with and it’s harder than ever now considering all the competition is on next gen and I’m still still in the old generation. I hope that you really consider me because I would be very thankful, thank you sincerely Isaac Gordon

  31. I would love if greatness would arrive for someone deserving. I’m 32 and my first console was a NES when I was six years old. It brought me so much joy and made me a gamer. I’ve owned many consoles. Nes, Genesis, Snes, dreamcast, Ps1, Ps2, Xbox, gamecube, 360, Ps3, Ps4. Wait, Ps4?

See the ps4 isn’t for me but it’s for one of my best friends. He moved about a six hour drive away to pursue making videogames in college. I think he loves videogames even more than I do, which is quite a feat. Problem is he’s quite broke being a student and can’t afford a ps4. He’s also pretty lonely because he’s away from his friends and family. I would love to be able to play games online with him, to make things a little less lonely for him.

I’ve literally been playing games at his house since the Snes days. I was there so much i didn’t even need my own N64. Lots of great memories were made there. Many late night gaming sessions and turning off the tv and pretending to be asleep when his dad would thump downstairs to check on us. I would like to return the favor and make new memories with a ps4 for him.

    Thank you,

    Danny

  32. I have been gaming for 30 years and I can’t image I will ever stop. Early days of gaming included Pong and Pac Man and for new generations that may seem boring but I still have a fondness for the games of the eighties. And Although I have such an appreciation for how far technology has come and how incredibly real the graphics are today, I still like to play all the retro games. Perhaps out of nostalgia but I think mostly because they are still fun today. I have fond memories of hosting and attending birthday parties’ at video arcades. It seemed like a simpler time. Today my nephew has started to game and I enjoy playing with him. He has an older version of a PlayStation and I would love to win this prize to give him an updated console. I see hours and hours of gaming fun in our future and I would like to provide him with the best gaming experience. My nephew has a real fascination with robotics, coding, and gaming and I think he will love the new PlayStation and Xbox consoles and library of games. Although my fondness for Pac Man, Centipede, and Asteroids will never die.

  33. My first gaming experience must of been when I was around 5-6 years old. My brother just had recently got the new Sega Genesis video game console and the game was Mortal Kombat. At first I just sat and watched him play, I was noticing the characters, the environment and well the game play of course! I started begging my brother after I think around 20 minutes if I could play, he was hesistant cause it was brand new and being the older brother he is.. but he let me! I was so excited I remember playing the only girl character that was avaliable which was Sonya! Man, I was hooked with the game and playing her character as I got older I started to love playing fighting games. Still to this day my top picks for games if I have to chose are Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter and I will also select the female characters (way better players in my opinion!) Smiley LOL
I unforunately haven’t played games in quite some time because I just cannot afford a system! It’s costly compared to 10-15 years ago. I would love to get back into playing the games I loved and to see how much those games have changed over the years!

  34. I’ve been playing since I was about 4 i guess. I of course started like a lot of people born in the 90’s, playing on hand me down video game systems like Super Nintendo and N64. Super Metroid, Super Mario, Kirby games, Golden Eye, and so many more. Like a lot of people many of my fondest memories were playing super mario and Golden Eye with my older Brother and my friends, or figuring out complex puzzles and challenges and accomplishing them. I still have both my Nintendo Consoles and even still occasional play them today. When the first Xbox came out I was really hooked. Halo blew my mind. I remember looking down at the grass and was amazed I could see different blades of grass. Now we have games like Assassin’s creed and Call of Duty. So many different ways to play games and styles of graphics and gameplay. Now we have Xbox One and PS4, neither of which I have and both I know I’d love and enjoy countless hours playing on. Videogames are amazing things and they’re only getting better and I can’t wait to create even more memories with them. Maybe one day I’ll be teaching my kids how defeat Bowser or how it doesn’t matter that we never see Master Cheif’s face, that’s just another thing that makes him awesome. I hope I win this contest!!!

  36. I got my first console (a SNES) in 1992. I got it to play Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong and have always loved those kind of 2D side scrolling games. Then in 2000 I got my first PC and slowly discovered online gaming. When my kids were a little older we got a Nintendo GameCube and then a Sony PS2.  Our best Christmas was the year we got an Xbox 360, a Sony PS3, and a Nintendo Wii all at the same time.  Our house is filled with PC and console games and we have already upgraded the memory on the Xbox and replaced one dead PS3, but we really would love to get the next generation of console gaming. We’ve discussed the pros and cons of both the Xbox One and the PS4 but have not been able to make up our minds about which system we would go with since it will have to be only one or the other this time around.  If I was lucky enough to win this, I think I would go for the PS4 since my son and husband (who are now the main gamers in our house) both like the kinds of games available on that system and like the way they look on an HD display.  Here’s hoping…

  37. I’ve been gaming so long, I don’t really remember a time where I wasn’t gaming. I first started gaming on the PC, and I’m pretty sure the first game I ever played was Muppets Inside. A lot of the early games I played were educational games based on TV shows, but I was first introduced to real games when I was around four. A lot of my friends had Game Boys when the DS was only just starting to blow up, and they all had Pokemon. I didn’t own a Game Boy, so I just kept peeking over their shoulder. A lot of my friends had PS2s too. Even the church did, and I would stay there for hours on end, obsessed with Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, and several other PS2 exclusives. My taste had expanded to fighter games though, and soon I was at my friend’s house playing Naruto: Clash of Ninja and Super Smash Bros. Melee all the time. At last, I finally got my first console, a Nintendo DS (and in metallic silver no less), and it would remain my only one for many years. In my later years, I had both a Wii and an Xbox 360, though the former broke and the latter was given away.

When I got into high school, I became somewhat upset with my life because all my friends were becoming ever so distant. However, Pokemon was one of the only things that made me feel better, and I got addicted to playing it again. I honestly don’t know what I would do without Pokemon.

Nintendo no longer makes games for the Nintendo DS which is a real bummer, and some of these next-gen games sound really enticing to me. Watch Dogs 2, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Uncharted 4 are some of the next-gen games that I have been dying to play, and if I had a console, it would give my friends an actual reason to stay at my place. I think it’s time for an upgrade, which is why I’m entering this contest.

  38. i have been gaming since i was in elementary school. Original NES super mario was the very first game i fell in love with. Since then i have benn playing and never stop. Games back in the days used to concentrate on game play more than graphic, and i spent lot of hours solving puxzle games n rpg games thats doesnt even have great graphic. I am now playing PS3, it is a little older now but i still enjoy alot. I love the game Far cry 3 alot both in single play story mode and multiplayey co- op game. I really wish to have a newer system so i can continue my gaming hobbie. The new PS4 do have many great games. The latest game Fallout 4 is one of the game i really. I wish i can win a new system so i can play this game.

  39. Born in the early 1970s I got to experience the first heyday of gaming – the loud noise and flashing lights in the local mall arcade. As soon as home systems started to appear, there I was with Coleco and Intellivision. Gaming upgraded over the years and I tried to keep pace through the SNES and Dreamcast days, but fizzled out a generation back. Now with a very bright three year old I want to share my love of games over the years with him! A new console would go a long way towards some special bonding time with my son as he learns, and I RE-learn, what it means to be a gamer in every way.

  40. I have been gaming since the very beginning, when Pong came out way back in the Seventies; I even owned the home version. Systems that followed include the Atari 2600, ColecoVision, NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), Sega Genesis, Super NES, Gameboy, the Nintendo Wii, Playstation, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3. That’s not mentioning endless computer gaming on the Commodore 64, Amiga 500, and finally the PC. Lastly, evolving to portable gaming on my IPad Mini and cellular phone. And who can forget the countless hours and quarters spent at the local arcade trying out the hottest games before they were ported to the home systems. Memorable games for me include the Pacman, Mario Bros., Gauntlet, Street Fighter, Civilization, Grand Theft Auto, and Gran Turismo franchises, and in particular I fondly remember such unique games such as The Secret of Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, Leisure Suit Larry, Lemmings, Tetris, and Golden Axe. Recalling all the games, I have played over the years, reminded me how much I love the gaming medium, and how much more it is capable of in the future. I need a new system to continue following the evolution of gaming and experience the latest, exciting innovations in the gaming world. I know the possibilities are endless.

  41. I can see from your gaming community that I am a novice at gaming, having only been introduced to gaming a couple of years ago. Gaming was never a big interest in my household growing up – we never even owned a gaming console. When my son asked for a Wii for Christmas I didn’t anticipate that he would always want to play with me. His love of gaming was instant and I was reluctant. But my son was persistent and I played more and more over time. It wasn’t long before I found myself gaming without him after he had gone to sleep. And soon I was out researching other gaming consoles and games that I thought I would be more interested in playing. I think the Xbox and PlayStation consoles and games are the best options out there and I would love to own one to game with my son. I have such an appreciation for the realistic graphics being used today and love the selection of games. There are many good reasons PlayStation and Xbox are the top franchises, not the least of which is hours upon hours of fun family gameplay. I am so happy my son introduced me to gaming.

  42. I’ve been gaming since I was really young. I remember I didn’t have the first consoles and had to go over to my friend’s place or sometimes my relatives’ place to play the original Nintendo. Then the next generation came and we finally bought a Sega Genesis. I remember spending hours on this system playing the Sonic the Hedgehog games, straight through. Sonic Spinball became a popular game at our house. The competing system at the time was the Super Nintendo, and although we didn’t have that system, I still liked the Super Mario games and Super Mario Kart.

The next few generations, we decided to switch brands. We got the Sony Playstation because it was very popular and it was Sony’s first entrance into the gaming scene. The Playstation had so many good games that it would take so long to go through all of them. For the next generation we moved onto the Nintendo Gamecube, and that wasn’t very popular. Most recently, I owned an Xbox 360 and it was a big move up from the Gamecube. The Xbox 360 is the last system I owned and do not have any of the new generation systems, so I’m hoping I can win one here!

  43. The first time I gazed upon a video game was in 1996 when I was in Japan. It was Super Mario Bros for the FC , and I have been hooked ever since. My first owned gaming systems is PS1. It was an amazing thing and It will always be my favourite video game system. My favorite games on my PS1 were Final Fantasy IX, Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill.

I was drawn into the World of Warcraft on PC for many years, so I missed out the PS3/PS4 generation mostly.  It would be great to have a PS4.  There are many PS3/PS4 exclusive games I want to play if I had an upgraded console, like The last of us, God of War and many other JRPGs.

  44.    This is a great contest.  I have been gaming since 1990 I would love to win a free game system.  My kids have been asking for a new one.  We are still on the older models.  My favourite game is still Dr Mario    It’s still better than candy crush.   We like to play as a family on bad weather days.  My kids love gaming a little too much.  We have limits so it doesn’t take over their lives. But we have a lot of fun with the dance videos.  My other kids really enjoy the Lego and racing games. It would be great to win this. It’s a great prize. I’m glad there’s an essay option for those of us that aren’t on social media.  If I won this I would wrap it up and give it to my kids as a present for the end of the school year.  They would be so surprised. A free game system would be an amazing thing to win. Especially right before summer holidays. My boys love Star Wars too, who doesn’t   We take our old system to the lake with us in the camper for rainy day entertainment. It’s nice to play movies on too. Best buy has a lot of great contests.  There’s some really elaborate games on the market now. Thanks for adding me to this draw. I really hope I win.  I like shopping on this site, it’s easy to navigate and shop on.  Well I think that’s 200 words. Thanks again

  45. I am an 80’s kid, so I remember the beginning of home gaming.  My earliest gaming memory is playing Pong with my brother on this tiny black and white screen.  We thought it was the best!  Then a family friend gave us their used Atari and I spent hours playing Frogs and Flies and Galaxian.  When my family finally got our Nintendo…I just about lost my mind. Mario became my world. I think I can still remember all the levels off by heart.  Then came the Super Nintendo…with…wait for it… The Superscope! That thing ate through batteries at lightning speed and was 100% worth it.  In later years I bought a Nintendo Wii and, like so many others, started my very own “Rockband.”  My fiancé is a hardcore gamer and got me into the original Xbox & Xbox 360.  Well, as it turns out, I’m losing my job at the end of the month & it sure would be amazing to have a new gaming system to come home to.  I know I certainly can’t afford to buy one on my own and winning one would absolutely make my day! Thanks so much for the amazing opportunity.

  46. I was born in 1988, my first gaming memories I can recall are playing Sonic the Hedgehog on my Sega Genesis while sitting on my Ninja Turtle bedsheet covers as a kid, I think we might even have that on a home movie somewhere. I was fortunate enough to have a fairly broad experience across most modern and classic gaming consoles. Some of my fondest memories are of playing Streets of Rage 2 with my cousin every time I visited him, or playing through the wonderful Super Mario World. Through my later gradeschool years I was able to experience the awesome Playstation 1, 3D0, N64 and Dreamcast through rentals, from our local mom and pop rental shop. I can’t say that I would ever consider myself a fanboy as I’ve always found that every console seems to have quite a list of great titles for Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Sega or others. The reason why I’d love to win one of these bundles is that I’ve got 2 brothers who both game, and it would be great to be able to share more great gaming memories with the people around me, and just have fun, like always, I love video games.

  47. I’ve been gaming for over 19 years starting out on the regular Nintendo and Dreamcast days and the last console I have been gaming on has been the Xbox 360.  I actually started out on the Commodore 64 playing ape escape and traversing mazes.  I’ve been entertained countless hours with many others playing team games and playing solo player when others were doing something as boring as sleeping.  I need a new console to get back on the leading edge of gaming.  We’d have LAN parties all the time with up to 8 people and set up an entire auditorium in the schools to no scope each other and spend social days showing off our skills.  I used to be all over it and competing in tournaments for Halo.  Those days are near and dear to me and I would like to get back into the mayhem.  With the new plethora of games coming and new tech shown in E3, it would be an opportune time to update my console and experience all of the latest treasures.  With the new virtual reality world expanding into gaming, it is only a glimpse of the future we will experience gaming, lets game!

  48. Hello! I have been a gamer from the beginning, with pong! I still remember a vivid Pacman nightmare I had as a young child, where I was tiny and being chased through the carpet strands by him. I played Atari for many years, far past when others moved on because we couldn’t afford the step up. I love played PC for years and finally bought my first console as a married man. But I’ve always been playing catchup, going back to the ones I missed. These days the prices of games in Canada are too high, so I rely mainly on Xbox gold. I would love a PlayStation 4 because I’ve never owned a Sony system which most of my friends gravitated towards, and I’m eager to play catchup there as well!

  49. I have been gaming since I was 5 years old. I started off with Atari, when my brother received it as a gift, and at the same time I used to play Commodore at my friend’s house.

My best memories are of Sonic the Hedgehog when it first came out on Sega Genesis. I remember staying up all night to finishZelda back in the days. Never got chance to play Nintendo 64 but the first time I saw PlayStation 1, I was blown away.  I still remember when I took a day off from school to stand in line outside Best Buy starting at 9pm day before release date ofPlaystation 2, I played Tekken Tag Tournament all day without taking a break, great day. Gaming has been a great part of my life as it reminds me of all the times I have spent with my friends and family. I currently own Nintendo Wii U and enjoying that a lot when my friends come over, still keeping the old Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 but they are collecting dust, waiting to join the new generation of players by getting my hands on Playstation 4 and or Xbox One.

  50. I’ve been gaming since I was 4 years old. Playing on the GameCube, Nintendo 64, and on the Gameboy. The good ol days. Then came the Wii, Nintendo, PS, Xbox, etc. For most of my life I’ve played On the Nintendo DS mostly playing Pokemon and mariocart. All my friends had an Xbox 360 or PS3  and I couldn’t play with them. But, When I was 12 I got my xbox 360 and I loved to play racing games, sport games, and on the Kinect. I wasn’t the shooter gamer. About a year later the Xbox One came out and most of my friends upgrades except for me because I couldn’t afford it and I focused more on school. I stopped playing video games on my console for the reason that all my friends moved on and I found it getting boring playing without friends. I play video games here and there on my iPod but I need a new spark in my gaming life to get me going again and to play with my friends that I think would love to have me back in the gaming community. Me and my dad use to play video games together but not anymore because he thinks they are a waste of time.  With a new console I think I can reconnect with Phil and show him that video games are not a waste of time. I can also buy FIFA 17 and the new  Forza racing game which I would love to have and I think that he would enjoy playing those games.
