This year we anticipate hearing about fantastic new games from Bethesda, Ubisoft, E3 and more for all of the gaming platforms including Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo. To celebrate Best Buy will be giving away amazing prize bundles.  Here are some of the prizes you can win:

Place it in your movie room to take advantage of the many other options these provide for all of your entertainment needs. Play games with your friends or relax with a streaming movie.

Some of the best games recently released: Many of these games were announced at E3 in previous years.  Here are a few examples:

How to Enter

You can enter in one of two ways.

  • The first fun way to enter is on Twitter. Follow @BBYC_GamersClub on Twitter. Complete the #RoadtoE3 story and share your result on your Twitter account timeline.
  • Online: Provide a 200 word essay in the comments section of the blog (below this post) explaining how long you’ve been gaming and why you need a new gaming console.

You can enter once per day either on Twitter or here on the blog.

What you can Win

There will be 6 prize bundles offered on 6 different days. Each bundle is worth approximately $1000 and will contain one gaming console (either and Xbox One or a PS4), a selection of games, and a $100 Gift Certificate from Best Buy (so you put toward the purchase of anything you want from Best Buy including one of the newest games announced at E3). 1. It started by going to Goodwill stores with my grandparents in the 90’s. They went to look for deals for their children (mostly fabric for clothes and sometimes furniture) but one of my earliest memories is finding and buying a video game system called Atari. It was brand new but without the box, a sticker was still on the logo. My brother was with us and we brought it home and one of the first games we played was pong. Now I have two brothers and cousins that now have current systems (more have Xbox One systems but I hear PS4 is better at this time) that live in different countries and this is my chance to play with them and hopefully create new memories whether it’s by playing video games online or through skype if it’s still available. E3 is almost here and can’t wait for the chance to preorder games that haven’t been annouced yet.

  2. The first time I gazed upon a video game was in 1986. It was Super Mario Bros. for the NES, and I have been hooked ever since. Getting Nintendo Power each month in the mail was always a joy and I looked forward to it every month.

When I first saw the Super NES, I would mesmerized; it was an amazing thing. It will always be my favourite video game system. Final Fantasy, Sim City, Super Mario World, and the list goes on. It is home to the best video games, even to this day.

I have many memories from high school of my friends and I playing Goldeneye on N64 everyday after school, and Command & Conquer on Playstation. There were many amazing games from that generation as well, and I still have my N64 with Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time and Goldeneye.

I love JRPGs, and consoles is where they live. I missed out on the PS3 generation mostly, because I was drawn into the MMORPG genre on PC. Those days are gone now and I am getting back into consoles. Playstation 4 is the new home of JRPGs and I would like to experience them again.

  3. I have been gaming since the very beginning, when Pong came out way back in the Seventies; I even owned the home version. Systems that followed include the Atari 2600, ColecoVision, NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), Sega Genesis, Super NES, Gameboy, the Nintendo Wii, Playstation, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3. That’s not mentioning endless computer gaming on the Commodore 64, Amiga 500, and finally the PC. Lastly, evolving to portable gaming on my IPad Mini and cellular phone. And who can forget the countless hours and quarters spent at the local arcade trying out the hottest games before they were ported to the home systems. Memorable games for me include the Pacman, Mario Bros., Gauntlet, Street Fighter, Civilization, Grand Theft Auto, and Gran Turismo franchises, and in particular I fondly remember such unique games such as The Secret of Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, Leisure Suit Larry, Lemmings, Tetris, and Golden Axe. Recalling all the games, I have played over the years, reminded me how much I love the gaming medium, and how much more it is capable of in the future. I need a new system to continue following the evolution of gaming and experience the latest, exciting innovations in the gaming world. I know the possibilities are endless.

  4. I have been gaming all of my life since being a small child in the 1960s.. At that time much of our gaming was in our own heads or with our toys. A sort of organic virtual reality that lead to inspiration for later art and music that I have created. As time grew and responsibilities mounted on me the world’s in video games that started coming out became an aid to inspire creativity in these other areas. The systems I own currently are greatly outdated and I am in need of some newer systems that can help to spark some more creative ideas especially in music. Especially since I am trying to create music of the quest, music of victory, and hero-ship. Winning these game systems and being able to use them both as a break from my composing and as an inspiration for it would really mean a lot. I believe that being able to enter these alternative realities that are basically not possible via any other means than video games would spark some things in my compositions that would be something of value to the world as a whole. Maybe create some new musical paradigm for people to enjoy and beyond that this old man could really use such a win to bring some brightness into his life that is really needed right about now.

  5. Gaming has been a part of my life since I was five years old which was around 2000. I started off with just watching other kids play on their gameboys or my dad play age of empires on the computer. At five years old, I wanted to play video games as well and began my journey with age of empires. From then on I began trying various games on the PC until my parents allowed me to get a gameboy. Most of my video gaming experience has been with handhelds from the nintendo handhelds to the sony handhelds. The only times I played on consoles were either at my friend’s house or my relative’s house. The amount of time I could invest in playing on the console games were limited. With a console of my own, I can try it at a more leisure pace. I could play longer games that require more time. On top of that with a PS4 or XBox one, it would be a whole new experience with the graphics since most of my PC gaming was limited by its video graphics card. Having a console for the first time would take my video gaming experience to a whole new level.

  6. Gaming has been an awesome and epic part of my life since i was little. I started on the Nintendo 64 in the 90s, playing Super Smash bros with friends equated to the best party game ever. Nintendo was always the best at making coach party games. After the 64 came the gamecube and more Super Smash Bros ensued. At school we would bring our gameboy advances and trade Pokemon or Play Mario Kart on our Nintendo DS. Although after the growth of online matchmaking and new consoles, our gaming sessions went online rather than on the coach. When i got an Xbox 360, everyday became a Call of Duty, Left 4 Dead or Gears of War Session and it was all awesome. I would love the chance to continue my enjoyment of gaming on the next generation.

Thank you for the givewaway on the Road to E3!

  7. My only contests winnings are online deathmatches. The only prize is my trophies or achievements and the oohs and ahhs of my peers. I’ve given out my gamertag (loosethoughts) more than my real name. I AM a gamer and it all started with my Commodore 64 and Atari. Nintendo was a gift from my father’s friend, and SNES was purchased right after. My dad gave me my first greyscale gameboy with Tetris. I have actually played on a Panasonic 3DO and Virtual boy. Genesis, 64 (Goldeneye!) and the the rest have graced my television at some point. I have also enjoyed the PC only gaming era where great titles could not run on the average console, but knew it would rise up and take over some day.

I remember begging for the new(ish) Xbox when it first came out and my parents spending over a thousand dollars to get it as my Christmas and Birthday present for the next two years (shout out to Futureshop, now Best Buy)! Looking back with kids I regret much but not that. I have played until my eyes bleed out and more. Hours upon hours. I have occasionally skipped the last period of school to get more gaming time with the friends. I have dragging my girlfriend (now wife) with me to two PAX conventions back to back (Boston and Washington) when Canada didn’t have any gaming expos. I have met John Carmack and Randy Pitchford. I have been disappointed with rebooted games (Duke Nukem Forever anyone?) but still went out and purchased the collector’s edition because I felt I owed them money from before.

I have more collector’s and limited editions than I care to acknolodge and have even imported from other countries (Thank the Lord for PS3’s multi-system). Now that I am a parent of two I have not been able to purchase a next gen yet, but if it we’re won my wife would not be able to argue Smiley Happy Even if I didn’t win I know the game is in me and will never stop.

  8. I have been gaming since I was five years old. The games that stick with me are from the days of 64. Games like Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time, Super Mario 64, Bomberman 64, Banjo Kazooie, Conkers Bad Fur Day, 007 Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, all these games are what bring me nostalgia. There are actually so few games that I dislike. I even started with the Gameboy Colour. All the way up to the Nintendo 3ds. I may not be a hardcore gamer but I absolutely love getting lost in the worlds these game developers created. As I grow older I am excited about all the new games but find myself behind the times because other goals hog the first seat of my life goals. I am stuck with Xbox 360 playing games with a third of the actual features. This brings me to why I believe I deserve a new game package. I deserve a new package because I have been a loyal gamer since the days of Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega, because I work hard in life and would love to know that an up-to-date game system is waiting for me at home to keep me company in my time of rest. But the biggest reason I believe I should win, my opinion why, is because I never win any contests despite frequently entering. It is selfish, It is Hopeful, But it is my reason for why I think I should win.

  9. I have been gaming for many years at least 15 years.  I love to play games and have played games with my children when they were younger.  Still do play with them as adults.  Now that I have grandchildren I have started playing with one of them that is 5 years old now and he really enjoys it.  He especially loves to play with grandma.  My two other grandchildren are amused with gaming but watch they are twins at 2 years of age.  I hope to play with them soon.  I need a game sytem because I have a really old one.  It is outdated and would be nice to have a nice system at my home when the kids come to visit grandma at her home to have one available to play with them.  I think they would think grandma is really cool then.  Having such a nice prize would give me the opportunity to play with them and having options of different games to play.  Thank you so much for the opportunity to win such a lovely prize.

  10.

It’s grown up alongside me. It’s sitting cross legged and smarmy as Mario ran hidden above the screen, cheering silently before sunrise as the cinematic for Diablo’s death basked me in incandescent monitor glow. It was hours of hitting the space bar to train hiding in Ultima Online and holding my breath at 2-2 2-2 match point in Rainbow Six. Like everyone, gaming was different things to me at different points in my life: babysitter, best friend, entertainment, competition and escape. To me, a console is Scheherazade, 1001 nights of nothingness turned into stories I can’t forget.

Things being as they are, I haven’t owned a console since my PS3 bid farewell, and the most graphically demanding thing my computer can handle is a lengthy email. But I’d be lying if there wasn’t a part of me, the one who just wants to know what ends up happening to Nathan and his friend Sully, the one screaming at me to leave immediately and get a PS4. The part that just wants to sit cross legged in front of a screen again and let the hours drift away.

  11. I have been gaming since l first got the orignal Nintendo. Every few years I would ask Santa for the next generation console for Chritmas.  From Nintendo to Sega to Playstation. I had the opportunity to play them all. My most recent console is PS3 and I have always loved playing sports games. I had such a Great time playing NHL and Fifa with my family and friends.
I could really use a new updated system. I haven’t been playing any of my consoles as all my games are out dated.

I have heard some heard some great things about the PS4 and I would love to get back into playing FIFA and NHL on the next generation systems.

  12. It’s my boys that are gamers, i was around in the Mario Brothers time lol. My youngest son Clayton who is 7 has a PS3 and he is upset his older brothers have the newer consoles, and I would love to win this giveaway for him. My three boys are gamers, and even my husband likes to play the odd video game (so embarassed to say so lol). We buy all of our electronics from best buy, because you guys are awesome, and have the best prices! thank you for this wonderful giveaway!

  13. I’ve gamed since I was five or so years old, I was born in 1996 I started out by watching my brothers play the new Nintendo 64 we got for Christmas it was the best thing I’ve ever seen they would take turns with each other always skipping over me because I was the youngest I hated it but I enjoyed watching either way, anyways fast forward to our bedtime everyone went to bed except me I stayed up because I was determined to get my first try at Mario 64 so I snuck into the living room turned on the T.V. and the Nintendo muted the T.V. and started the game about ten minutes in mom gets out of bed to get a glass of water catches me sends me back to bed, and that was the first time i’ve ever played a video game fast forward 15 years i’ve got a PS3 been playing it since it got released haven’t really had the money to get one of the new consoles so i’ve just been playing on my PS3 well my friends have moved on to the newer systems which I can’t play because I can’t afford it but hopefully I can win it if not awesome for the other winners and I hope you enjoy it every bit.

  14. One of the best parts of my day is playing Mario Kart on our Wii with my 6 year old son.  He gets so competitive and it’s adorable.  I bought our Wii before he was born.  My son was born in 2009.  My Wii is an oldie but a goodie! LOL!  I would love to get the new Wii because my son and I use our old one every day.  My son would go crazy if I surprised him with a new Wii for his birthday in September.  I don’t even think he knows that there is a new Wii out there.  If he did, he would be asking for it.
I’ve been gaming since the Atari days.  I had an Atari.  My BFF had Coleco!  I loved playing Frogger, Pole Position and Donkey Kong as a child.  I had a handheld Ms. Pac Man game, you know the ones that looked like a mini arcade game???  I remember receiving at for my 12th birthday!  I still have it!  I also remember when the handheld GameBoy came out.  I had to have one. I took it everywhere!  I remember playing, and finishing, Super Mario Land!  I still have my Sega Genesis too.  I remember finishing Sonic the Hedgehog!  This is before you were able to “pause” games. Ah, the memories. Gaming is something I proudly share with my son.  It’s so much fun and I’m happy that he loves it as much as I do. Smiley Happy

  15. I have been gaming on Xbox and playstation for zero years. I do not currently own a play station or Xbox… I know it’s hard to believe and very sad! My family does have a Wii though that I have been playing for quite a few years. I’m not sure if that counts though. Probably not but oh well! My boyfriend has been gaming for many years. I think he started when he was just a little boy. Anyways, It would be very nice to be able to play with him and share the games if I won. I really appreciate this opportunity to enter this contest!

I like the Wii but I would love to try out an Xbox or Playstation. They have lots of games that I would love to try out! So I don’t have much to say other than I’d love to try these games out.  I just graduated from University so I’m kind of on the poor side and that’s why I’m entering this contest instead of out buying one myself. I’d love to win the xbox or playstation and try out all the cool games. Thanks Best Buy for this contest! Please enter me. Thanks again!

  16. I hardly game at all but I started in the earlier 80’s playing donkey kong on my family’s Atari 800xl. I loved that system. Since then I owned a Wii and no other console. Therefore it is time to upgrade. I hope to take advantage of the newer systems for their excellent graphics. I also want to play games on my home theatre projector. I have always like racing style games and would love to feel the race fly by with a 100 inch screen.

I have a daughter who loves the NHL. I know that she would thrive in the off season playing hockey on a current console. I am sure that with some practice I could give her some good competition. Although, to be real about it, I am positive that she will ‘school’ me in the game in about a week of playing it.

Therefore it makes sense that I upgrade to the latest console available and get with the times again. I need to break the habit of only getting a new console every three decades.

I hope that I get to win this contest and share the console gaming fun with my whole family.

  17. I’ve been gaming with my family since the Atari.  I played every game that came out and even took my son to a gaming tournament in Edmonton.  He came in fourth back in 1988.  My favourite game was PacMan, Frogger, Mario Brothers. We got a gameboy and I loved Tetris.  Since then my husband, two sons and myself have been gaming and one of our sons played World of Warcraft for many years. We spent many hours together as a family, starting with the Playstation, moving on to Playstaion 2,  then Playstation 3 and finally Playstation 4 in 2013. We have other game consoles as well and share them with each other.  It would be very nice to have more than one Playstaion 4 among us since we are such avid players.

Everyone works hard at their jobs and when there is time off, the best way to relax and forget about life’s hassles and stresses is to get into a game.  My husband likes the old ones and played Sim City for a long time.  We have kept all our old games and consoles so have quite a collection but it would be great to win an XBos One game or a Playstation 4 game console with a coection of games and a $100.00 Best Buy gift card.

  18. I started gaming at the ripe old age of 35 in order to connect with my son.  He is an avid and addicted gamer since the age of 5.  He learned, all by himself, how to tell time & count to 100 through his gaming.  I needed to keep up with him, and try to find a common language in order for him to “love” playing with me. Through the years (as he is now 22) he advanced and pulled me along…..he became the teacher and I the student.  Over the years, he outgrew many games by reaching the final level, and also outgrew the consoles by using them until they no longer functioned.  I have been purchasing newer versions with faster power and upgraded images.  These newer platforms & bundles seem so exciting, and the new gaming console offered as the prize would put me in the region as “THE BEST MOM EVER”! I would love to present my son with this super surprise…and then maybe be able to learn how to use them. Or, even better, spend time just like we used to those many years ago; with him teaching me….again!  I truly need this new prize bundle in order get back to family time again.

  19. June 10th daily entry: Ok, gaming since the 80s guy here again. Well, last time I talked a bit about the Atari, so today, I’ll talk more about my time with my next console: The NES. From Day 1 when I was B+right running with Super Mario and zapping with Duck Hunt, I was hooked to gaming more than probably anytime in my life. I only got a new game every Christmas and birthday, so between each of those dates, I would spend hours and hours trying to finish each one. Eventually, all games from Mario 123 to Metroid to Zelda would fall to my button mashing precision . . all except one: Ikari Warriors. Whenever my friends had A LOT of time on their hands, we’d play this game together because it took THREE hours just to make it to the final boss . . and we knew, even when we got there, the game would glitch and not let us continue. Back in the 80s, I couldn’t tweet the developer to help me fix my broken game, so I just kept playing for no reason, and once we got to the end, we simply waited for our A-B-B-A infinite lives cheat to stop working and Game Over. Well, 20 years later, with the advent of Youtube, I finally saw the ending of Ikari Warriors and well, it turns out the ending was about as long as the Game Over screen so guess I never was missing much. Smiley Tongue With that said, I need a new console because I want to catch up on the latest and greatest, plus I heard with these new modern discs, I don’t have to blow on them as much to get them to work.

  20. I’ve been gaming since I got a commodore 64, around 1986 or so. I had a friend in elementary school who had a C128, and he helped me build an impressive library of games from his collection. Since those early days I’ve had an NES, gameboy, PC, and then a very long break until the mid 2000’s, when I got an Xbox 360 and fell back in love with gaming. Smiley Wink  It’s been a long road, and I’d like to keep gaming on the newest gen consoles and experience the latest and greatest games.  I can’t tell you how many hours I spend gaming, but through each gen of gaming machine I’ve had games that have stood out and that I have racked up some serious gametime on… I think some of my most-played games through the years have been Halo 3, TES4Smiley Surprisedblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3/NV/4, etc.  As you can see I have a special love for open world roaming adventure games such as those Bethesda is so good at making.  I’m really itching to try Witcher 3, especially after all the good things I’ve heard some of my friends who are lucky enough to have newest gen gaming rigs say about.  Ah well, a guy can dream of someday getting back int he saddle with a cutting edge machine.. here’s hoping! Smiley Happy

  21. I’ve been gaming ever since I was 9 years old. My brother and I grew up with not much and someone bought us a Nintendo gamesole for christmas. I could remember how happy we were since it was the very first expensive toy we ever had. We played day and night everyday as I could remember. As I was growing up I was very fond of Video games.  It is a good time passer and a stress reliever for me as an adult. It gets my mind off the real world for a while and take a break from every day stressors. I currently have an Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3. I could use an upgrade on either of those console. It would make me very happy for many years to come. Thank you for the chance at winning this great prize!

  22. I want a new videogame console because once a week I like to just completely zombify myself. Playing videogames and watching television during this day becomes a complete absorption and at the same time I am saving up my money in order to take a year off. That new videogame gets shunned while I watch videos of other people playing my favourite titles instead.

Videogames have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. When my mother brought me to a friend’s house and we played Super Mario World for the NES, I nearly saluted the boy for all the hard work he put in unlocking every single level. Soon I had my own NES; I was playing classic games such as War of the Gems, Donkey Kong Country and Maximum Carnage, just to name a few. Shortly after that I had a Nintendo 64 and James Bond, Perfect Dark and Diddy Kong Racing brought themselves into my life. I would go as far as saying videogames help me remember my childhood.

I need a new gaming system because it would allow me to have more fun on my down time while creating new lasting memories.

  23. I’ve been playing since I was about 4 i guess. I of course started like a lot of people born in the 90’s, playing on hand me down video game systems like Super Nintendo and N64. Super Metroid, Super Mario, Kirby games, Golden Eye, and so many more. Like a lot of people many of my fondest memories were playing super mario and Golden Eye with my older Brother and my friends, or figuring out complex puzzles and challenges and accomplishing them. I still have both my Nintendo Consoles and even still occasional play them today. When the first Xbox came out I was really hooked. Halo blew my mind. I remember looking down at the grass and was amazed I could see different blades of grass. Now we have games like Assassin’s creed and Call of Duty. So many different ways to play games and styles of graphics and gameplay. Now we have Xbox One and PS4, neither of which I have and both I know I’d love and enjoy countless hours playing on. Videogames are amazing things and they’re only getting better and I can’t wait to create even more memories with them. Maybe one day I’ll be teaching my kids how defeat Bowser or how it doesn’t matter that we never see Master Cheif’s face, that’s just another thing that makes him awesome. I hope I win this contest!!!

  24. Born in the late 80’s my dad and I would play Atari and the original NES together when I was 3 years old and shared a ton of great memories gaming together and learning to game. I remember for Christmas of 1996 getting an N64 and playing all of the incredible classic games from that time period. That just got me further into gaming and as I became a teen I loved playing games with my friends. Now I’m in my late 20’s and have children who I’ve shared some gaming with the previous generations consoles and would love to share gaming on a new generation console with them.

  25. I have been gaming since I got a Nintendo as a gift long, long ago. Mario and Donkey Kong- that long ago.  Gaming has become a family affair and we all have our favorites. We still have the Nintendo, a Sega Genesis, X-BOX 360, PS2, PS3, and PC games.

Gaming helps relieve stress, and you don’t have to go anywhere to do it. Anyone can enjoy it, and there is a game out there for everyone. My son prefers racing and action games, the husband likes sports. I like Minecraft and games with zombies.

I want an X-BOX One to use for live gaming. I think it is interesting to be able to play games anytime with people from all over the world. It is a fairly inexpensive hobby after the initial investment in equipment, and hey, it could lead to world peace one day. We are all gamers inside. World peace through gaming. Remember, you heard it from me first.

A PS4 would be nice to update our collection. We were pretty much Playstation diehards for a long time, until X-BOX live. So it would be great to have access to the newest Playstation offerings again. I’d love either!

  26. What a great prize this would be! I would love to win this for my family. My first gaming was Intellivision playing dungeons and dragons and other games. We thought that it was the best games ever. Then we got an apple computer. The earliest version. Very simple games but fun. We eventually got a Nintendo and thought that was the greatest thing ever with the games Mario and then bubble bobble not to mention duck hunt! We would have all our friends over and play for hours. Now we are a few nintendos later and a playstation 2. Gaming has changed so much and it is always exciting to see the new systems come out! This would be such a great prize to upgrade our system!  Plus our kids would love it since our playstation has quit on us so they have never really played at all on one. They are getting old enough they would love it and probably beat us in any games!!! Thank you for the chance!

  27. I am not the Player of the Games, but the Keeper of the Games!  Everyone comes to my house to play, since I have all the old games that you can’t get any more.  Wouldn’t it be a shock to them if suddenly Grandma had something new!

  28. My sons have been playing games for years and years.  They would appreciate such an amazing prize.  I would put more comments except I am not familiar with gaming.

Thank you for this opportunity.  Great gift..

  29. I’ve been gaming since I was pretty young. Our family’s first gaming console was an Atari 2600. The Atari 2600 was released during the year I was born, but It must have been out for a few years before my Dad decided to buy us one, because I distinctly remember him bringing it home, our first few days playing it, and the many different cartridge games he would bring home from various department stores over the years.

Our family gaming progressed to a Commodore 64 – so many summer days my younger Brother and I spent playing games on the Commodore 64! That was the first system I learned programming on. That progressed to my Dad getting us an IBM-compatible PC.

The first gaming console that I bought brand-new with 100% of my own money was a PS2. Although I probably couldn’t afford it, I had just gotten my first “real” job, and the large increase in paycheck size from any previous job I’d had made it a must-have purchase. Nowadays I still occasionally play games on our PS3 or XBox 360, but having a current-gen system would definitely get me back to playing games on a regular basis. E3 is finally here!

  30. I have been gaming since my parents bought our first family computer in 1986. It was fun to play the early text based adventure games and also the ASCII art dungeon runners. I continued gaming on early consoles like the ATARI and NES. I still have my nintendo and super nintendo in a box.

The newest console that I own is a PSP 3000 as that was the last one I could afford before I went on disability income. I can not afford a new console so the only way for me to get one is to win it.

I could use a gaming console to help distract my brain on the bad days when my body does not want to work. I love how games create worlds where you can be someone else and go on epic adventures without leaving home.

I would love to stream games on youtube to maybe show other not to give up when your body does not work right. I have just started a YouTube channel and will be streaming my first stream in a few days. I love the gaming community I follow streamers to see the newest games and to watch the fun that is gaming.

  31. I have been gaming since I was 5 years old. I started off with Atari, when my brother received it as a gift, and at the same time I used to play Commodore at my friend’s house.

My best memories are of Sonic the Hedgehog when it first came out on Sega Genesis. I remember staying up all night to finishZelda back in the days. Never got chance to play Nintendo 64 but the first time I saw PlayStation 1, I was blown away.  I still remember when I took a day off from school to stand in line outside Best Buy starting at 9pm day before release date ofPlaystation 2, I played Tekken Tag Tournament all day without taking a break, great day. Gaming has been a great part of my life as it reminds me of all the times I have spent with my friends and family. I currently own Nintendo Wii U and enjoying that a lot when my friends come over, still keeping the old Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 but they are collecting dust, waiting to join the new generation of players by getting my hands on Playstation 4 and or Xbox One.

  32. Hey Best Buy,
I’ve been gaming since I was 2 and the first console that my parents bought was the SNES (undated Super Nintendo Entertainment System) from a flee market. Ever since I’ve been gaming. From the SNES I’ve gotten the N64, the original Xbox, xbox 360, and now the Xbox one. My current game that I play right now is Call of Duty: Black Ops III. I play competitively but this year they switched consoles on what they on and switched it to the PS4.i would like to win the ps4 so I could continue playing competitive and also play with my friends that have made the switch.

Thanks for reading and thank you for holding this awesome giveaway. Good luck to everyone.

  33. Fitting that the PS4 contest has you choosing family over material goods, when all along you know that I need a new console for my FAMILY!

  34. I have been gaming since about 1979 when I was teenager. Our family started with an Intellivision home console and later we bought an Atari.  After that came the Nintendo 6. We played Super Mario, Donkey Kong and Tetris.  Our family always enjoyed challenging each other.  I believe the next console we bought was a PlayStation.

We upgraded to PlayStation 2 and then bought many games for it.  Our favorite games on our PS2 were Resident Evil, Splinter Cell, Socum II, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.  We played these games for hours on many nights.  Funny how fast the time goes when you’re gaming.

Since then we have not upgraded our console. It would be great to have a PS4 or an Xbox One.  There are many games went want to buy if we had an upgraded console, like Tom Clancy’s The Division.  My nieces and nephews like to come over and play as well.

  36. I have been gaming since I was five years old and received a bright green Nintendo 64 gaming system for Christmas. It was so exciting. I have certainly spent a lot of time and money on gaming systems since then.  Once I outgrew the Nintendo 64 system, I moved on to a PlayStation 3, then to an Xbox and on to an Xbox 360. I have accumulated quite a large collection of games and accessories and have kept everything stored in my basement. I have had a lot of great times playing many different games with my friends and I spent a lot of hours playing Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty. Those games sure are a far cry from the days of Donkey Kong and Mario Brothers. Now it is time to move forward again to an Xbox One and get some more games to add to my collection. I am really looking forward to playing Grand Theft Auto Five and Call of Duty Black Ops III on Xbox One.  There are a lot of other games that I have heard have great ratings but I will start with those two if and when I get a new system.

  37. I have been gaming for 30 years! I started with Pong and moved onto Pac Man once I started going to video arcades. I even had a birthday party at a video arcade one year. I had a fascination with Centipede as I loved the speed of the game. Once my family got an Atari set at home I got hooked on other classic games like Space Invaders. The shoot’em up games have always grabbed my interest – love the adrenaline rush those games bring out. I think there was a year I almost exclusively played Asteroids. I loved flying through space and destroying everything in my path. When my family purchased a Nintendo console there was a real divide in my family. Super Mario was fun but it couldn’t replace my love for the shoot’em up games I adored. I remember getting a Gameboy one year for my birthday and couldn’t believe I could have so much fun with a portable device. I still have a real fondness for the video games of the 80s but I am now enjoying Playstation’s suite of games. I don’t think my love of video game will ever go away. My Playstation is quite old and I would love to get a new one and introduce my nephew to video games. He has a real fascination with robotics and coding and I think he will love Playstation. There are so many great games for Playstation 4 but as a fan of Tom Clancy, I am most excited to try out The Division – it looks so cool!

  38. I’ve been a gamer since I was six years old. First system I ever owned was a Nintendo that me and my little brothers got as a gift from family friends. Parents couldn’t afford things like that growing up, so my childhood gaming experiences came from playing at friends’ houses. Found I had a knack for playing games and friends would always ask me to, “beat this level”, and “win this fight for me”. First system I ever bought was the Gamecube, after saving up for months. Can’t really afford to buy games and systems as I was always helping out my family, working to pay my way through school and living on my own. It would be amazing to win a bundle, as it has been a hard few years for me, and this would certainly change my luck around and make me and my family very happy Smiley Happy I feel like gaming brings people together (been to a few gaming tournaments) and would love to continue being a part of it and not left behind Smiley Wink

  39. Gonna be aging myself but I’ve been gaming for over 30 years!  Been through the gambit in terms of platforms…NES, Sega Dreamcast, SuperNintendo, Gameboy, Gamecube, XBox, Sony Playstation, Sony PSP and Xbox 360.  I’m a bit behind the times now as I only have the Xbox 360 to play now…just can’t seem to squeeze the funds together to get the Xbox1 or the new Playstation (PS4)…something always comes up and there goes that cash…ugh!  I’ve had the chance to play both the Xbox1 and the PS4 at friend’s houses and am aching to call one my own!  I’m dying to try the newest releases in so many lines of games.  The newest Halo, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Gears of War, Madden, MLB, Star Wars ANYTHING, Assasins Creed  and SO many more!  On top of that the hundreds of other new titles out there…those TV commercials and plugs do not help to ‘scratch my itch’, so to speak.  If I could win one of these prize packs and become 20 again (OK, I know there is only so much Best Buy can do…lol), I’d be one happy Canuck camper!

Crossing my fingers, toes, arms, legs and anything else humanly possible…

  40. I have only been gaming for a couple of years. I never gamed as a child as my family never purchased any gaming consoles. I never even knew that I would like gaming until my son asked for a Wii for Christmas. His love of gaming was instant. As my son is an only child, I am the one he always wants to game with. I was reluctant at first always trying to find the one player option for him but he was persistent and always preferred to game with company. It wasn’t long before I was out researching other gaming consoles and games out of my own interest. I think the Xbox and PlayStation consoles and games are the best options out there and I would love to own one to game with my son. I have such an appreciation for the gorgeous cinema-esque graphics being used today and love the new multi-player capabilities. There are many good reasons Playstation and Xbox are the top franchises, not the least of which is hours upon hours of fun family gameplay. I only wish I discovered gaming earlier. If I could go back in time, I think me and Ms. Pac Man would have been good friends.

  41. I grew up in the 80’s-early 90’s, like most true gamers. My first system was my dads Atari 2600, I had to hang out with the spoiled kids in my neighborhood I didn’t like, to play their NES systems untill I got my own for Christmas ’89. The next Christmas I got a Power Glove after watching the movie The Wizzard, and thinking it was the most awesome thing a gamer kid to have. Unfortunately,  the Power Glove sucked! (it was not compatible  with most games, and the games that did work *Double Dragon…worked pretty crappy). So the “Power Glove” sat in a dusty box for the next 15 years. Why do I need a new system?, because the older I get I tend to remember getting ripped off on that stupid Power Glove, and not the good…coming back from K-Mart with my copy of Mario Bros. 3, and the big grin on my face. I need to get that feeling back, and stop being so sucky the older I get Smiley Wink

  42. I’ve been gaming since I was really young. I remember I didn’t have the first consoles and had to go over to my friend’s place or sometimes my relatives’ place to play the original Nintendo. Then the next generation came and we finally bought a Sega Genesis. I remember spending hours on this system playing the Sonic the Hedgehog games, straight through. Sonic Spinball became a popular game at our house. The competing system at the time was the Super Nintendo, and although we didn’t have that system, I still liked the Super Mario games and Super Mario Kart.

The next few generations, we decided to switch brands. We got the Sony Playstation because it was very popular and it was Sony’s first entrance into the gaming scene. The Playstation had so many good games that it would take so long to go through all of them. For the next generation we moved onto the Nintendo Gamecube, and that wasn’t very popular. Most recently, I owned an Xbox 360 and it was a big move up from the Gamecube. The Xbox 360 is the last system I owned and do not have any of the new generation systems, so I’m hoping I can win one here!

  43. Sucks, right now because of a layoff I have been out of work for many months and because I have to live and save to make sure I can cover my bills and housing, the funds I have are too little to get a new system – especially when all my friends and family have PS4 or XB1…really dont’ know which to choose but hoping to start gaming again…always been behind on getting a good system, but that doesnt mean I can game…i really want to collect a number of friend-friendly games, as I have been gaming since colleco vision and nes, moving slowly to snes and ps1, then had a ps2 for many many years, finally getting a great christmas gift of a ps3 – which I have had for a very long time now – wanted to experiment with xbox one but with no spare $, that hasn’t happened and it would be nice to reestablish some gaming time with my bro and others on the ps4 that I can’t-yet-buy. Really it would be great to have an opportunity to win a system, then I can actually start playing the actual new technology instead of the legacy or older games  that are only available on the old systems. it would definitely enhance my gaminig experience to use current technology. Thanks for the great opportunity BestBuy and Road to E3! an xb1 would be great to play against my buddy acrss the country who I never get to see anymore either…lol

  45. Born in 69 there were no video games.   I remember when Pong came out and thought it was tons of fun. Then Atari and Intellivision raised the bar.  Then I got into computers and programmed some simple games like battle ship on my Apple.  PC games were a mainstay in our household for the 1990s.  Now we have kids of our own and they play together all the time. We enjoy co-operative games like the Lego series and have created some pretty amazing worlds in Minecraft.   I join in when I can, but don’t have the same digital skill set as our new connected generation.   I am stubborn though so often will struggle through a level after the kids have gone to bed.  My wife does not approve of staying up to 2 a.m. to play games. J

We currently play on an XBox 360, and occasionally boot up the Nintendo or older Xbox.   Getting difficult to find new games for our older console and we’ve never played on a playstation so would be nice to upgrade .   It continually amazes me how far games have come – from the graphics and AI to multiplayer and on-line chat functionality.  Looking forward to 3D immersive games in the not too distant future

    .

  46. I could really benefit from a new console as my current system is on its last few miles and I really like the PS4 exclusives as well some of the new consoles titles like current game The Division which comes in this amazing package as well Ghost Recon in the future. I currently and foreseeable do not have the funds for this as I am diagnosed with a chronic mental health disorder, bipolar. I use video games to give me a break from my mind when I am ill and it lets me focus on something rather than nothing or too much depending on my mood. This console would mean so much to me and provide a therapeutic release as well as a lot of fun of course. I always go to best buy for my electronic needs but I need to save for a new computer for school as a first priority, I also must feed myself, albeit my parents do help with that! I know each entree is a draw but I really hope I see that winning email from best buy, it would mean so much to me. I also use my console to keep in touch with friends that live away from me but without a newer console I can’t do that, I know there’s things called phones but gaming and talking is way more fun I think we can all agree. I also need a new phone but that’s a future contest! Kidding! I will continue to support Best Buy for my electronic needs as they offer great customer service exemplified by contests like these.

  48.  I have 2 teenage Sons , that are both huge gamers , they have been playing for years , and They have always had to share a game console , it would be great to win them an XBOX ONE , they have always had to share since the game cube days (which i think wasnt that long) then moved on to something better , with them being older rock, paper, sciccors isnt working to well lately , thanks for the chance on winning one for my boys ,
