If you’re a fan of Star Wars, then please allow me this opportunity to say… May the 4th be with you! That’s right, Star Wars day 2020 is almost here, and in this blog we’re going to celebrate by looking at some of the coolest Star Wars items currently available at Best Buy. Read on to see just a few of the many cool items with which you can celebrate this year’s Star Wars day, and…

May the 4th be with you!

Now that we’ve dispensed with the formalities, I’d just like to ask, with Star Wars day practically upon us, how do you plan to celebrate this year? Is a grand movie marathon your style, or are you more about the Star Wars toys and gadgets? Be sure to share your thoughts and ideas on how to have a great May the 4th celebration in the comments section below—we’d love to hear what you think. But right now, here are a few of my own ideas on how to have a great time during this year’s Star Wars Day.

Cool Star Wars ToysMay the 4th be with you!

Without any doubt, the absolute hottest Star Wars toy right now is pretty much any version of “the child” (AKA, baby Yoda) from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. A number of plush toys, action figures, and other mini display toys of the adorable baby Yoda character are coming out in the next few weeks (yes, sadly baby Yoda won’t be here in time for this year’s Star Wars day, but he is available for pre-order). In fact, I did a whole pre-order announcement article about them several weeks ago called “The Child” is Coming: Baby Yoda Pre-Order Announcement. You can check that article out for all the different pre-order links, but if your baby Yoda of choice isn’t currently available, keep checking back from time to time as he is ridiculously popular and doesn’t seem to last for very long.

Another heavyweight contender in the realm of Star Wars toys (and one that is currently available) is Propel’s incredible line of battling quadcopter drones. Choose among the legendary X-Wing StarFighter, the infamous Advanced TIE Fighter, and a super Speeder Bike Drone complete with its own scout trooper rider. Each of these drones comes with a slew of impressive features, including auto take off and landing and a top flying speed of 35 miles per hour. Add to that their ability to engage in a realistic air battle with up to 11 other Propel Battling Drones, and you’ve got the makings for a seriously fun Star Wars day celebration. Just imagine the epic battles you can recreate with a handful of friends and a matching number of Propel drones.

But that’s not all that these amazing drones offer. Supreme moulding, hand painted details, and realistic lights and sounds make the Propel Battling Drones the perfect combination of hobby drone and Star Wars collectible. They even have their own freely downloadable app that allows you to fly numerous training missions using the actual drone controller and your own smart phone. This makes Propel’s drones perfect for both sunny and rainy days, so you needn’t be concerned with whatever the weather decides to do on this year’s Star Wars Day.

A couple of years ago when these first came out I got the chance to review first the speeder bike drone and later the X-wing. Check out those reviews for numerous details, photos, and fairly in-depth videos as well. I actually made the videos to focus on entirely different aspects of the toys that apply to all three, so it’s worth watching both to get a more complete picture of what these amazing drones can do.

Star Wars Gaming & VR

May the 4th be with you!

If video games or VR experiences are more your thing, get yourself an Oculus Quest 64GB VR Headset and experience Star Wars themed adventures like Vader Immortal, which you can learn all about in this blog article by Brad Moon. And it’s not only Star Wars games that you can enjoy either! Oculus has numerous titles across many exciting genres, and new experiences are coming out all the time.

I once reviewed an Oculus Go set for the Best Buy Blog, and while the Go is a step or two down from the Quest, I had an absolute blast with it and wouldn’t hesitate to get my hands on an Oculus Quest if the opportunity arose. Sets like these allow you to go off on amazing adventures without ever leaving your couch!

Star Wars Movies on DVD & Blu-ray

Some Star Wars fans use the opportunity of May the 4th to watch as many Star Wars films as they can possibly cram in. It’s a tradition among many to watch the episodic films, like Return of the Jedi, in the order in which their specific events occurred. For example, you start with Episode I, work your way through the prequel trilogy, then (if you want to you can also throw in Rogue One at this point) move on to the original trilogy, and finally on to the current trilogy through to its conclusion. If you are missing any of the classic Star Wars titles on Blu-ray, you can find them on Best Buy’s website in glorious 4K Ultra HD quality, just like the ROTJ example that I linked to above (and show at right).

May the 4th be with you!

If your media player of choice is a Blu-ray machine, you may be interested to know that on this year’s Star Wars day you can finally add Episode IX to the marathon. That’s right, the final episode in the grand saga has finally arrived, and it’s all ready to watch in your very own home on Blu-ray. You can now add Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker to your personal Star Wars movie collection, if you haven’t already done so. What a great way to celebrate Star Wars Day 2020!
