It’s hard to imagine life before smartphones. Whether you have an iPhone or Android, charging our phone before bed is something we all do. The IMGadgets Dual Fast Wireless Charging Stand Station and the 10W 2x Fast Wireless Charging Station Pad are universal wireless chargers that free us from traditional wired charging.

Design of IMGadgets charging pads 

Let’s start with the IMGadgets 10W 2x Fast Wireless Charging Station Pad. With a slim, low-profile circular design, it resembles a drink coaster in both shape and size. It’s 3.45” wide and only .25” tall. The top surface is made with textured, non-slip fabric with the IMGadgets logo in the middle. On the side is a micro-USB connector with the included USB cable. To charge your smartphone, simply place it on the center of the pad. LED lights around the border indicate when a device is charging and fully charged. 

The IMGadgets Dual Fast Wireless Charging Stand Station is designed to charge smartphones and smartwatches simultaneously. It has a rectangular design with rounded edges. By default, the smartwatch portion of the stand lays flat, but it can be propped up vertically at various angles to accommodate a variety of smartwatch designs. The charging cable is built-in to the stand and connects to any USB power source.

Wireless charging has come a long way in the past couple of years. Most flagship phones now support the Qi wireless charging standard. This includes iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy Note8/S8, and higher.

This provides two times the wireless charging speed from previous iterations. If you currently use an older wireless charging pad, you’ll notice the difference in charging speeds.

An ideal location for the Fast Wireless Charging Station is on a work desk. After setting it up beside my laptop, I was surprised how fast 10W of output power can charge a smartphone. I typically use a wireless charger at my bedside, but now I feel a wireless charger is a must-have accessory for any workstation. 

Pros and cons of IMGadget charging pads

It was interesting to try 2 wireless chargers from the same company, at the same time. 

The obvious benefit of the Dual Fast Wireless Charging Station is the ability to charge 2 devices simultaneously. However, a smartphone has to be placed in a specific position to get a charge. If it’s slightly off-center, the smartphone would not charge. This means you have to be extra careful when you place a phone on the charger, especially at night. The last thing you want in a wireless charger is to wake up to a phone that didn’t charge because it wasn’t perfectly aligned on the charger.   

With a built-in USB cable, you’ll need to have a power source within 3 feet of the charging station. I prefer the ability to connect a longer cable to accommodate different charging scenarios.

Charging on the 10W 2x Fast Wireless Charging Station Pad was a breeze. It’s a perfect charging accessory for a home office or work desk. It feels and looks like a high-tech coaster. Admittingly, I was tempted to place my coffee cup on it more than once. As a wireless charger, that’s a big no-no.

The LED indicator ring is a really handy feature. It gives you peace-of-mind knowing that your smartphone is charging. Plus it just looks cool. 

Final thoughts

I feel that anyone with a Qi-enabled phone would benefit from having wireless charging stations on their bedside table, and on their desk. If you do get the IMGadgets Dual Fast Charging station, just be mindful of your smartphone placement at night. You’ll be happy to have a single charger for two devices. As for the IMGadgets 10W 2X Fast Wireless Charging Station Pad, there’s really nothing bad to say about it. If you do get it, you will not be disappointed. Trust me on that. 

I think one day we’ll wonder how we ever survived without wireless charging. The convenience these two products offer makes them great smartphone accessories for the home.
