How easy is to use an Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer?

The Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer series are known for their ease of set up and for providing an inexpensive, easy to use way to shoot professional looking videos with just your smartphone. You know the problem we all have with phone videos: they are jittery, lose focus of the subject, etc. Capturing steady always-on-point videos by holding a phone in your hand is not easy. Mount the phone in an Osmo and suddenly a whole world of videography opens up. The gimble and software can keep the subject in the center of the field of view no matter if your hand is shaking or bouncing around. Imagine you are filming a lightning storm from a moving car on a bumpy road; with your smartphone in an Osmo Mobile the image is perfectly stable. It really does all the work; you just hold it in your hand and decide what to shoot.

I am writing this article before the Osmo Mobile 4 launches, so I don’t know what incredible features it will have. I did send one to reviewers for an in-depth article about it; but, the reviews aren’t ready yet (I’ll add a link here as soon as the review goes live). You, however, are reading this contest article just after the launch. So, the first thing you need to do is to go to the product page that also just went live and read about the features of the new Osmo Mobile 4, then come back here and enter the contest.

  3. I’ve been looking around for a cellphone gymbal for some time now, and am really excited about the Osmo 4!
    Firstly I’m really intrigued that this new version has a magnetic mount because I already use a magnetic mount in my car and love it. It’s be a seamless transition. And I think it improves the design, since now there are less things to break on the device.
    Second, that active tracking looks like an amazing feature since I’m often trying to film myself..
    There are just so many features for someone that films/shoots by themselves, it’s hard to choose but those are my tops. I’d love one of these!

  9. I think the Gesture controls and DynamicZoom are the two features I’d have the most fun with. I struggle with getting clear zoomed in videos and photos. I love using the setting on my phone that takes a photo when you smile, but those pictures aren’t always clear either. Sounds like this would fix both my issues!

  26. I am looking forward to the Magnetic quick mount, DynamicZoom and 15 hours on a single charge.

    My son is starting pre-media at College this Fall and I on my end I would like to film more footage in destination once I am able to Escort travellers around the world again. Winning this would be a great tool for both of us.

  35. I would like to experience the ActiveTrack 3.0 technology – see how subjects are centred when I am in motion and ring holder to keep your phone on your finger while moving to get that great shot.

  40. This sounds super cool!!! Would live to try the Dynamic zoom with features like the Dolly Zoom. Also love you can command it using hand gestures- very cool all around and i would love to try all of it’s features!
