Smart Home prize pack

Each year in January there are many new smart home technologies announced at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This year was no exception! During the 4-day digital event, the technology gurus from global brands showcased cutting-edge innovations designed to transform our lives. We too were virtually present to capture every moment at this year’s virtual tech show, including the smart home tech announced at CES. From security monitoring, smart lighting, and entertainment, to the latest and greatest appliances, we covered all the smart home innovations shown at CES 2021 on the blog. To celebrate the new year, we are giving away a huge selection of smart home devices that we previously wrote about on the blog. Read on to learn about some of my favorite CES announcements, then learn how to enter the contest.

The best tech at CES 2021

From smart lights, security cameras, touch-free doorbells, and smart locks, to magic remote for the TV, camera-equipped robot vacuums, and ice-cream makers, we saw a variety of new devices to make your life a little easier and more enjoyable. Let’s have a look at some of the best from CES:

Smart Lighting and Speakers

Philips Hue, one of the most trusted names in smart lighting, highlighted the light switches at CES 2021. The new battery-powered module installs behind your light switches to keep your lights reachable even when the switch is off. Smart speakers, including the Google Nest Hub and Amazon Show, are already one of the central features of the smart home. The newly announced Cleer Crescent smart speaker is perfect for the main hangout room. This smart audio speaker is powered by Google Assistant, boasting a beautiful crescent-shaped design that supports different audio modes and is equipped with eight 40mm full-range drivers and a pair of 3.3-inch woofers.

Home Security and Monitoring

TP-Link introduced six new smart home products to become available throughout 2021. D-Link announced multiple new products at this year’s CES. The one that grabbed the most attention was the D-Link Whole Home Smart Wi-Fi Water Sensor Kit. Arlo, the home security brand, highlighted two products—the Essential Indoor Camera with privacy shutter and the Touchless Video Doorbell. For a detailed overview of the products announced, read the latest and greatest smart home tech announced at CES 2021 article on the blog.

TV Technology

Samsung, Sony, and TCL all had impressive TV announcements, making TVs thinner, lighter, and more similar to integrated video portals, but LG announced an optimized OLED element that will serve up brighter and even more colour-accurate for its 2021 model OLED TVs. Check out the latest and greatest TV tech announced at CES 2021 on the blog.

Computer Tech

It took a pandemic to switch many people to remote working and learning mode, and computer tech has become the top category now more than ever. For announcements by leading manufacturers like Dell and Alienware, ASUS, Acer, and Intel, be sure to read the Computer Tech coverage by Brad Moon.

Health and Wearables

Smartphones

LG kicked off CES 2021 on Monday by teasing a rollable smartphone—really? I wonder when foldable phones will become the hottest thing in mobile tech. The company is expected to release the device later this year.

Every year lots of new technologies are announced at CES, and some of them arrive at Best Buy later that year. Last year we reviewed many of the best devices of the year. Now we have assembled four collections from the samples that arrived to the blog and created these smart home prize packages.

  1. This is WOW: 2021 Neo QLED 8K features a new new Infinity One Design—a nearly bezel-less screen providing an even more immersive viewing experience in a sleek design and form factor

  2. I’d so love to get The Swann Wired Enforcer™ 4K Security System. Had way too many breakins at our home in the country

  3. The retro Killer Instinct arcade cabinet caught my eye as soon as it was unveiled. In terms of Smart Home though, very interested in the new SWANN Security system as we just moved into our first home and with a shed full of stuff and a newer vehicle in the yard, it would be smart to have cameras in place to deter theft or possibly identify suspects if something were to occur.

  4. The Swann Wired Enforcer™ 4K Security System seems like it would be a great addition to my home and help keep me and my family safe!

  5. I would be very interested in the smart home lighting. I have quite a bit of smart home technology except for lighting. I currently have Arlo cameras, Nest doorbell and nest smoke detectors. I think the smart lighting would be my next addition that i would want to add.

  6. I can’t wait to see the Arlo Touchless Video Doorbell at Best Buy. I love that it senses people approaching the door, not just ringing the doorbell. And a vertical view makes more sense so you can see packages.

  7. Great line-up of new products! But the one I am most interested in is TP-Link’s Kasa Cam Outdoor with 24/7 Recording

  8. Being a big fan of Sony and LG, I’ve been always looking forward for what kind of innovating products are they gonna come up with.

  9. I am most excited to see the Swann Wired Enforcer™ 4K Security System , I would really feel so much better when I go out or I am home alone to know my home would be protected ( as well as my family and my dog as well ! ) It has so many amazing features I am so excited for this !

  10. This year I would like to see in Best Buy the Samsung Bespoke line of refrigerators in designer colours with a 4-door Flex design that lets you decide the storage space as a freezer or a fridge plus my favourite feature the internal Beverage Center with automatically filled water pitcher and the Dual Auto Ice Maker.

  11. I want to see if the Arlo Essential Spotlight Security Camera will work on my old house. 2 wire systems are not well supported by things like smart doorbells, thermostats, etc. None of those things will work on my home…
