Start with The Beatles then branch out

If I was going to create an instructional video on “How to start using a Karaoke machine in your home,” one of the first steps would be, start with The Beatles. You don’t have to be a Beatles fan to know that at least half the people participating at any Karaoke party will know one, two … perhaps a hundred songs by the Fab Four. AND, that percentage is going to increase next year—thanks to Disney.

The release of the new Peter Jackson documentary “Get Back” will likely force me to break down and finally get Disney+. I’ve been a holdout since there is just too much that I still want to watch on Netflix, Prime, HBO, etc. But like many people with a lifelong appreciation of Beatle music, the promise of sitting in the studio with Paul, John, George, and Ringo as they record their final album is too much. Just too much.

And it will be too much for a whole new generation. Millions of people already have Disney+ and many will say to themselves, “maybe I’ll give this Jackson doc a try” probably because they liked Lord of the Rings and wanted more of that. Well this isn’t that. But the reviews are in: for example, see Best Buy Blog contributor Jason Gorber’s review on the “ThatShelf” website to understand why I believe many people will be mind-blown! They’ll be humming Beatles songs and singing in the shower for the rest of the year if not their life.

Karaoke is perfect for singable songs

Which brings me back to the ION Karaoke machines and why this is a great year to get one. As more people embrace their inner “Beatle” there will be more people able to sing songs we all can recognize. You will also want to sing today’s songs and that’s great too.
