Many gamers I know either love their gaming chair or lament not having a really good one. Gaming is not an activity you can just get up from every half hour to stretch and reset.   3. One health tip I subscribe to, I try to get up for 10-15min every hour or so. It give your body a quick break from the sitting position and gives you a chance to grab a healthy snack, drink or use the restroom.

  4. The solution to gaming induced aches and pains and health problems is to detach from gaming every couple of hours and go outside. It is a safe and healthy alternative… unless you live in Detroit.

  5. Having the right set up in terms of ergonomic is great and to be able to make adjustments. Not forgetting to drink water while playing along with getting up once an hour for at least ten minutes are all good ways to stay health during long gaming sessions.

  6. Get up and move around. Go get a glass of water, go to the bathroom. Short breaks go along way.

  7. Keeping hydrated and get up and move for a minute evey half hour will help keep your blood circulating to keep you healthy.

  8. Like baseball’s 7th inning stretch, gamers need to get up and stretch. Also they should hydrate too.

  9. Gamers should stand up every couple of hours and take a short walk. Also drink lots of water.

Something my Dad told early on is to take breaks, look at something else other than the screen for a bit to help prevent eye strain, and to get up and walk around and do something to get some movement. Personally, I also choose to keep a bottle of water nearby to keep up with the water drinking amounts we humans need per day. I use a water bottle because I’m clumsy and have spilled water all over the desk and on the keyboard before. If not a water bottle, a glass kept far off to the side.

  11. give your eyes a break, even your hands and fingers need breaks! Go for a fresh air break, take a walk or just enjoy some exercise like a bike ride. Drink fluids and eat healthy foods!

    -take regular breaks away from the screen (break away for water, snack, stretching, fresh air, bathroom, etc.)
    -stay hydrated with water
    -adjust your desk and chair properly (I tend to slouch or lay in my chair)
    -if your monitor doesn’t have a blue light setting, maybe a pair of blue light lenses

  18. You can lose track of time when gaming. Limit your time by setting a timer. Than hands off for awhile. Get outside or just do a different activity away form a screen. Maybe cook or get a healthy meal.

  20. Moving and taking breaks is important not just for when you are are playing games on the computer but when you are at school or at work. Take short walks at lunch time, after work and when at home not working. Add stretching like shoulder rollbacks, head turns, etc… If you are too static your muscles will tighten up so movement is very important.
