Students need at least two Herschel Supply products to be prepared for school. For the general items, a backpack or messenger bag is perfect to carry school books, note paper, pens, and their laptop. Specifically for their laptop, students must have a padded, dedicated laptop sleeve. I’ll go into more details about why I am making this claim, and then you can enter for a chance to win a pair of Herschel products so you are prepared when the school season begins.

School can be brutal on laptops and books

How many backpacks have you bought over the years? I have bought many … too many to count in fact. Some years, I’ve had to buy several after a backpack was damaged by weather or something. I remember a friend told me they forgot their child’s backpack on the roof once: it didn’t survive getting batted around when it fell onto the highway!

My children are done school now, but my wife is still in school, as a teacher, so I’m still buying backpacks—for her! And her favourite brand is Herschel. Trust me: she has tried many. She loves the style, the versatility, and the comfort carrying her Herschel backpack: from our island home, onto the ferry, on the train into Vancouver and back, her books and tech are protected. She also uses a Herschel sleeve to protect her laptop. She says, “I’d be lost if my laptop broke … all my lessons and notes and assignments are on there.” Yes she backs up her data, but a broken laptop would seriously set her back.

I hope some of your can relate to my wife’s situation. Students, teachers, and many others rely on Herschel products … and for good reasons.

Herschel multipurpose bags perform an essential service

Every student needs a backpack or messenger bag. In an era where textbooks are only a portion of a student’s learning arsenal, these bags offer expansive storage space for various items, from notebooks and tablets to calculators, water bottles, and lunch boxes. Herschel bags, with their multiple compartments, promote organization and ease of access, reducing the stress of misplaced items and keeping the learning process streamlined and efficient.

Herschel’s multipurpose bags are renowned for their robustness and longevity, crafted from high-quality materials that withstand daily wear and tear. Their ergonomic design ensures comfort, a critical feature considering the amount of time students spend carrying their bags around. Additionally, Herschel bags come in an array of trendy designs and colours, allowing students to express their individual style while maintaining practical functionality.

Herschel laptop sleeves play a crucial role in your life

Every student has a laptop and on that laptop is the entirety of their student life: protection is of utmost importance. As I said above, my wife backs up her data: I bet most students don’t! Herschel laptop sleeves are crafted to offer maximum protection, with protective padding that shields laptops from physical shocks and damages. Water-resistant properties offer protection against accidental spills, a common occurrence in student life.

Along with providing protection, Herschel laptop sleeves add an extra layer of convenience. Lightweight and slim, they’re easy to carry around and can be effortlessly slipped into Herschel backpacks or messenger bags. This ensures that students’ laptops are always accessible whenever needed.

I firmly believe a student needs both of these items: a multipurpose bag and a laptop sleeve. That is why this contest is giving away both to each winner … and there are going to be three winners! Follow the instructions carefully so you have the best chance to win.

  1. Children should never put a pop can in their backpack. It’ll be so shaken up by the time it’s lunch and it’ll spray everywhere!

  2. If you carry your lunches, make sure to put in a separate bag… Don’t forget to take it out after school!

  3. How about a whoopee cushion? My brother sneaked on into my backpack when I didn’t notice. I run into class sit down with my bag still on my back and…good times..good….times.

  4. Their pets! My brother once tried to take his guinea pig for show and tell! luckily, my mom caught him

  5. They should never put their half eaten lunches in their backpacks on Friday, as it will sit in the backpack until Monday morning

  6. A banana… I left one in my bag over the summer and had to throw a really nice bag away – the stench was awful

  7. Let’s make this first method of entry a little fun. In a comment below, tell us one humorous thing you think children should never put in their backpack and why. You may have an anecdote of something funny your own child or a child you know brought to school and shouldn’t have.

You should never bring a can of beans with no can opener! My husband likes to play practical jokes on our kids. A couple of times he would put random items into their lunch kits along with their lunch. Once it was a random can of beans 🙂

  8. I think children should never put a Caramilk bar in their backpack because it will melt and make the backpack smell like caramel and chocolate for days! 😉

  9. One adventurous kid thought it would be cool to sneak his pet hamster into school inside his backpack. Unfortunately, the hamster had its own plans for a grand escape. During a quiet moment in class, the hamster chewed through the backpack’s zipper and darted out, sending the classroom into a frenzy of laughter and chaos as students and teachers scrambled to catch the runaway critter.

  10. Kids should not put their used, wet socks in their backpack. They find random hidden pockets to store them in, but forget to take them out and they become a stinky crusted ball.

  11. It was a planned thing for “show and tell”, but my daughter took fish eggs and part of a wasp nest that was abandoned to school

  12. Children should never bring their pet monkey to school. Why? Because monkeys are playful and mischievous creatures that love to cause havoc. Imagine a child opening their backpack at school, only to have a monkey escape and run wild through the classroom! The monkey would steal snacks from other kids, and create a disastrous mess. Not to mention, it would be challenging to catch the little troublemaker. They are definitely not suitable backpack companions for kids! Stick to school supplies and snacks instead. Haha!

  13. Water bottle are important to stay hydrated during a school day, but don’t bring one with a loose top. I’ve seen many books, notebooks destroyed. 🙁

  14. I think children should never put chocolate bars in their backpack as when they melt they make a hug mess. My son did this with a brand new backpack and the chocolate was all over on the inside. I had to buy a new one for him. I was not a happy camper.

  15. This happen, we are running late so I just ask my son to grab his pre made lunch, but he accidentally grab my lunch for work, which include a soft boiled egg (yes I bring egg for my lunch 🙂 he just put it on his backpack. Then of course it got squished on his bag made a mess take note its also not allowed to bring eggs on school so I got called in. That was a fun day!

  16. No food in backpacks – not even snacks! They get squished, forgotten, melted, and go rotten.
For food safety, use a separate lunch/food container.

  17. Apple sauce. My sons apple sauce opened at the bottom of his backpack and that stuff got all over everything. Sticky, lumpy and putty like when it dried.

  18. Food should never be placed in a backpack. I am all about a separate lunch bag.
Backpacks are made to carry books, stationary phones, tablet etc.
