There are few monitors more profound, versatile, and perfectly designed for gaming than the Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor. This monitor puts you in the game. With stunning colours and clarity, a response time you expect in a gaming monitor (165Hz refresh, 1ms response time) the consequences of your thoughts are immediate—like you are in the game. During gaming month Best Buy will have many gaming contests, and this one is for anyone who wants their gaming bigger and better than ever. The prize is the same monitor that we sent to Marcus (pictured above) for an honest review. I saved that sample at the office when it returned from Marcus so that I could give it away during gaming month. Read his review to learn about this monitor and enter this contest to win it!
Are you really in the game
Like most things in life that are real, gaming ability and gaming interest falls on a normal distribution (aka, a bell curve). Some of us are “Little Game” and some of us are “Big Game.” I fall on the far left at about a “3” on the scale since I don’t play games very much. But I work with talented writers on the Best Buy blog, like Jon Scarr and Matthew Rondina who are at “8” or “9” on the scale (reserving a “10” for professional eSport players).
Introspect for a minute. What kind of gamer are you? When hostile aliens come to visit Earth, will you be on the “A” list of people the army calls for the big “drone battle in the sky” or will you be someone, like me, they ask to do more farming to feed the troops? Hey I could use a big monitor like the Samsung Odyssey Ark to plan my crops!
Who in your life is the biggest gamer you know
Okay so I have established that I am not “Good Game” and certainly not “Big Game.” You likely have a good idea where you land on this scale, but how about the people in your life. Are they more game or less game than you? In other words, would they be more likely or less likely to get the most benefit from having this amazing monitor prize in their home. For some people this might be a sensitive topic: food fights have started with less incentive. I’m not trying to raise hackles, or move anyone to cast judgement. If a consensus is not immediately forthcoming, then this is likely the kind of question best settled with … a game! Perhaps you’ll get to play it using this monitor.
I understand, however, that many people might think this monitor is too big for their home. That’s okay. Samsung has a huge selection of gaming monitors, smart monitors, curved monitors, efficient productivity monitors, and more. In fact, many of them are on sale this month so you’ll likely find exactly the monitor you need for gaming, for school, for work ….

Win a Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor
Good luck.
My boyfriend, Justin. We would play Fortnite!
My son Quinn and it would be Fortnite.
Would love this to play Mario Kart with my kids
My friend Eric. The game would be Valorant. This is because it’s a game that both of us enjoy, what we constantly play together
My daughter Robyn. We log lots of hours on fortnite, this would be fun to play on!
My son would be my ultimate opponent – we would be battling Mario Cart online on our Nintendo Switch
My husband steve is around the same level as me, especially at console games. I’d love to settle the score with him in Mario Kart 8, because that’s the game we both have the most practice in and the one that would lead to the biggest bragging rights!
My friend robyn is just about at same level of gamer as me and if I were to challenge him to see who’s better I’d probably choose a sports game like NHL or Baseball that is about timing as well as strategy.
Halo with my Dad, as we both love that game!
Halo with my son Dan
My Daughter Ash. Fortnite, because she loves it.
I would game against my brother Martin and our game of choice would be “Halo 3” playing “Team Swat” on the map ‘Guardian”. The amount of time we spent playing this game on a Sears branded CRT in split screen mode should have ruined out eyesight more than it has. This game marked the peak of our competitiveness in video games and brings back many fond memories.
My son Ty and the game would be Fortnite
My cousin Lyric and it would be Fortnite.
My son Kail and the game would be Fortnite.
My son Daymeon and I would have to say Halo.
My wife Lauren is around the same level as me, especially at console games. I’d love to settle the score with her in Mario Kart 8, because that’s the game we both have the most practice in and the one that would lead to the biggest bragging rights!
My son Max. Fortnite, because he likes it.
Iain is a great gamer and if we were to compete I’d pick MarioCart since it’s fun to take the edge off the competition.
It would be playing Halo 100% with Kevin
My son loves Fortnite, it would be our go to game
I’d use this to connect with my son, Tyrell
Helen is nearly the same gamer as me on Halo, but I’d kick her but with that 55″ monitor!
My friend Greg is at same level of gamer as me and if I were to challenge him to see who’s better I’d probably choose a sports game like Hockey.
Josh and I are similarly matched at MarioCart
My fiancé Eric is definitely a bigger gamer than I am BUT if we play towerfall or mario party I will always beat him hehe.
Dan’s almost exactly at my level across numerous games, if we were to compete, it would have to be something that’s not out yet where neither of us could take release day off and get the upper hand! 😛
My friend Trevor is just about at same level of gamer as me and if I were to challenge him to see who’s better I’d probably choose a sports game like NHL or Baseball that is about timing as well as strategy.
My wife Sheryl would be my competitor and we would play Mario Kart because we love the graphics, (lack of) skill required and we have a blast! Our kids are very entertained by how bad we are!
That person would be Terrie and the game is COD Modern Warfare 2, because we usually play as a team yet think different.
John is ALMOSTthe same level as I am. I would like to play Rocket League because i think I would have a better chance to win than he would.
Mark and the game would be Mario Kart
my son Jackson. We both love Mario Kart!
Megan would be my partner in MarioKart.
My daughter Megan and I would play Mario Kart to compete to see who is actually the best. It’s a tonne of fun playing with her.
my game is fortnite
Avery would be my ultimate opponent – we would be battling Mario Cart online on our Nintendo Switch
My bud Mike and I are about the same gaming level, so I would choose him as my gaming partner and we will be playing Super Mario because we both like the graphics and sound
Heather. The game would be quake.
I would definitely like to battle my best friend, Greg in a game of Mario Kart! We both love the game, the graphics, the characters and we are both evenly matched so it would be close, but I would win 😉
Ken-Mario Kart and he would win.
My brother Ramit and I would play Mario Kart and were going to compete to see who is actually better. It’s a lot of fun playing together.
Danny and I would battle it out on NHL 23.
Looks sharp
joseph car theft auto , his choice
Janet
we want to play rdr2 together
That would be David. David introduced me to World of Tanks and we regularly platoon together so that would be the game,
My 5-year old son Archie and I love playing Mariokart together! We are similarly matched and if we competed we would be tied 50-50! We would play Mariokart if we competed because we love the graphics, the silly moments, the skill required, and the variety of tracks and cars we can choose. He has a blast throwing green shells at me! Please let us win this amazing monitor!
My son Beckett. The game would be Fortnite.
For sure Suzanne and it would be Halo
