There are few monitors more profound, versatile, and perfectly designed for gaming than the Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor. This monitor puts you in the game. With stunning colours and clarity, a response time you expect in a gaming monitor (165Hz refresh, 1ms response time) the consequences of your thoughts are immediateโ€”like you are in the game. During gaming month Best Buy will have many gaming contests, and this one is for anyone who wants their gaming bigger and better than ever. The prize is the same monitor that we sent to Marcus (pictured above) for an honest review. I saved that sample at the office when it returned from Marcus so that I could give it away during gaming month. Read his review to learn about this monitor and enter this contest to win it!

Are you really in the game

Like most things in life that are real, gaming ability and gaming interest falls on a normal distribution (aka, a bell curve). Some of us are “Little Game” and some of us are “Big Game.” I fall on the far left at about a “3” on the scale since I don’t play games very much. But I work with talented writers on the Best Buy blog, like Jon Scarr and Matthew Rondina who are at “8” or “9” on the scale (reserving a “10” for professional eSport players).

Introspect for a minute. What kind of gamer are you? When hostile aliens come to visit Earth, will you be on the “A” list of people the army calls for the big “drone battle in the sky” or will you be someone, like me, they ask to do more farming to feed the troops? Hey I could use a big monitor like the Samsung Odyssey Ark to plan my crops!

Who in your life is the biggest gamer you know

Okay so I have established that I am not “Good Game” and certainly not “Big Game.” You likely have a good idea where you land on this scale, but how about the people in your life. Are they more game or less game than you? In other words, would they be more likely or less likely to get the most benefit from having this amazing monitor prize in their home. For some people this might be a sensitive topic: food fights have started with less incentive. I’m not trying to raise hackles, or move anyone to cast judgement. If a consensus is not immediately forthcoming, then this is likely the kind of question best settled with … a game! Perhaps you’ll get to play it using this monitor.

I understand, however, that many people might think this monitor is too big for their home. That’s okay. Samsung has a huge selection of gaming monitors, smart monitors, curved monitors, efficient productivity monitors, and more. In fact, many of them are on sale this month so you’ll likely find exactly the monitor you need for gaming, for school, for work ….

  2. My brother Charles and we’d have an old school Starcraft II match-up for the win! Some good memories playing that game!

  3. Parker needs some help (not much) to beat me in Mario Kart. We would have hours (days) of fun with this.

  4. Eric is ALMOST the same level as I am. I would like to play Rocket League because i think I would have a better chance to win than he would.

  5. Brandon and we would compete in Mario Kart Racing because racing is the purest form of competition.

  6. This would be great to play Super Mario Party against my wife Jessie and our son, our son would probably end up winning.

  8. My son Jarett and we play Halo together. I would choose Halo because that is the video game we began Jarett’s gaming life experience on.

  10. My cousin Troy. We would play Batman Arkham Knight and see who can get the better scores in the challenge modes. (We both 100% achievement the game yeye)

  11. I would gift this to Steven, who needs this to have a chance against me in Rocket League, lol!

  12. Sarah would be my opponent and I think I would have the edge on her! We would play PacMan, an old fav! Great memories playing this game!

  13. Lenny and we would play PAC Man because we always come so close to winning against each other. Loads of fun. But we both get to the same board and just can’t pass it lol but we keep trying

  14. My brother Michael and I took to playing Halo MCC during COVID remotely against each other. We both think we’re awesome snipers… we’re not. Playing for family bragging rights!!

  15. My boyfriend Jay and I are avid gamer. Especially anything from the Tomb Raider series. There are so many custom levels it is awesome

  16. Romeo – flight simulator. He’s 83, former fighter pilot. Relieve some glory days sans risk.

  17. Josh is probably close to the same level as me. Who would win depends on the game. Old school games and I’m probably winning. Newer games would be more up his alley. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’d probably want to play something like original Super Mario Bros. lol

  18. Dave and I would be similar and we would play Mario Kart and I think it would be pretty close to who would win – we both aren’t very good. lol We would play Mario Kart b/c it’s a game that we’ve played for a while and both enjoy.

  19. My husband, Rick, is about the same level gamer as myself. We’d play Microsoft Flight Simulator to see who is actually better because I’m better at flying.

  20. My son, Jonathan and I, would have an epic game of Mario Kart. Unfortunately he would trounce me

  21. Michael is close to the same level of gamer as me and if we were to compete to see who is actually better, I would want to play Mario Kart because I know that I dominate in that game.

  25. Amy, my younger sister. The competition has been on since the 80’s and Mario. I will always come out the winner..ha. so lets start up Super Mario and off we go!

  26. Michael. We’d play Fortnite. Both of us have been playing it now for a year or so and I think we’re evenly matched. I think playing the best of 3 would determine who is the best (it would be me by the way).

  27. I’d play with my grandson Jaxon, but I’m pretty sure he’s better than I am. We would play Mario Kart.

  28. My biggest competitor at the moment is my son Taylor. While I hold an edge on Gran Turismo, he beats me constantly on Mario Kart…

  30. any four year old is probably as good as I am, i donโ€™t compete – hate it when games force you to interact at all, let alone force real-world conflict- thatโ€™s the whole thing iโ€™m trying to escape
