LG gaming monitors are the kind of upgrade gamers crave. Face it, doing anything interesting or important without a decent monitor is more challenging than it needs to be. If your monitor is slow, then you can’t help but be distracted by the latency. If your monitor presents colours that are not accurate, then you can miss important details or, at the very least, may notice them too late to benefit your performance. However, with a monitor like the LG UltraGear 27″ FHD 240Hz 1ms GTG IPS LED G-Sync FreeSync Gaming Monitor we are giving away in this contest, you will be ready to take on the most visually demanding games available.
LG displays have a reputation for excellence
You are likely familiar with the amazing televisions produced by LG. Those have been among the very best screens you can buy: a reputation that continues year after year. Their monitors are similarly impressive. However, the UltraGear line of gaming monitors stand out as a gamers ultimate choice for a variety of reasons. Some of these reasons are covered in Brad Moon’s detailed review of this monitor.
To start with, the 240Hz refresh rate is amazing. Consider that many monitors are refreshing the screen at half or a quarter that rate. You might think that you never noticed that to be problematic in the past. However, there are numerous studies supporting the view that a faster refresh rate is easier on our eyes, and enables quicker reactions to changes on the screen. That isn’t likely to affect us when watching a movie, likely shot at much less than 60 frames per second. Gaming, though, is much faster as your reaction time may determine the difference between winning and losing. As you get better at gaming, you’ll want the competitive advantage that a really fast refresh rate provides.
LG UltraGear monitors ensure you’re getting the best gaming experience
Optimum performance of a monitor during gaming depends on many technologies working together. The software in the game needs to be accurately interpreted by the graphics card in your computer and the signal sent from the graphics card needs to be reliably synchronized with the refresh rate of the monitor. When this is done poorly you get visual aberrations on the screen. For example, you may have heard of screen tearing; sections of the screen seem to break away from where they should be (like if a character’s head may be several inches from their body). Obviously distracting for you and possibly fatal for the character (haha). LG Monitors have a variety of synchronization technologies built-in. NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD Radeon FreeSync keep the visual display stable. In additions, Dynamic Action Sync reduces the lag between you hitting a key or controller button, and your character responding accordingly to avoid or initiate an attack.
Gaming monitors are designed for optimum gameplay. You may, however, be thinking: we need a new TV and a new monitor but our budget this year forces us to choose one or the other. Sometimes life is about compromise. If getting the most from your gaming is the most important thing for you this year: get an LG UltraGear monitor! If you know you will need a new TV this year and will have to wait until next year for a gaming monitor, get the next best thing … an LG gaming TV! As I said, LG TVs are legendary. Their gaming TVs have incorporate many technologies to enhance gaming, despite not having all of the great features of an LG UltraGear monitor.
Then there is the possibility that you enter this contest and I draw your name in a few weeks! There is the dream: win the LG UltraGear Monitor and then buy an LG gaming TV for the best of both worlds!
How to enter
Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in two different ways.
- In a comment below, tell us which type of display you are more likely to purchase in 2022, an LG gaming monitor or an LG gaming TV and why? It’s hypothetical so please don’t say neither; choose one or the other.
- In a comment below Brad Moon’s review of this monitor, tell us one reason why you really want this monitor in your home.
What you can win
At the end of this contest, we will randomly select two (2) winners from all eligible entries. Each winner will receive one of the LG UltraGear 27″ FHD 240Hz 1ms GTG IPS LED G-Sync FreeSync Gaming Monitors that we sent out for review.
This contest runs from March 11th until March 24th.
Remember you can enter in two different ways as described above. However, you should also tell your friends and family, especially anyone you know who loves gaming so they too have a chance to win.

Good Luck.
I think for me and my roommates it would be a great way to connect in our living room space. We just recently moved in together and one of us has a switch. We play it usually on the little handheld on the coffee table we have but a monitor would be a great upgrade for sure.
I would prefer LG gaming monitor because I have a PC
I’d pick the LG gaming monitor because I’m looking to upgrade my computer graphics and having a better resolution monitor would mean it would actually be worth doing!
I’m more likely to purchase a LG gaming monitor since it takes up less space, and fits in my space well.
Monitor. Simply because I prefer monitors to TVs.
I would go with an LG gaming TV. I’m pretty new to the monitor gaming scene and I’m more a big “TV Guy”.
I would purchase a LG gaming monitor to take advantage of the g sync capabilities and my new video card. I recently bought a Nvidia GeForce 3080ti from BestBuy and it’s pretty sweet!
I would love the lg gaming TV
Would love a LG gaming TV because we are in need of a new upgrade from our old 1080p TV, but I won’t complain getting the monitor!
Absolutely a new LG Gaming monitor. Would be a huge upgrade.
Legit on the fence, I’ll probably get an lg gaming tv before the monitor though
I would rather buy a LG gaming monitor as I tend to game more than media consumption.
LG Gaming Monitor over the TV for sure. All about that PPI and sweet sweet 240HZ for me!
I’d love a chance to win this monitor! It would greatly improve my productivity and ability to win more Overwatch games!
I ammore likely to purchase an LG gaming monitor as I am also hoping to get a gaming PC!

I am more likely to purchase an LG gaming monitor, LG is a solid monitor and alway a reliable choice.
I went from a budget $129 LG monitor to a gaming monitor with 144hz refresh and gsync and honestly it doesn’t live up to the quality of the LG. I have been in the market for an LG high end monitor for months, just waiting for the right price on an ultra gear monitor.
If I were to to pick between the monitor or the tv I would choose the monitor because my room isn’t big enough to have a tv in it
I would most likely buy the LG gaming monitor because it fits my desk more than a tv. But I also game a lot for fps and I like to be immersed , so a monitor would be great for that
I would get the monitor. Been trying ditch the dual monitors and get one big monitor instead. My laptop would handle it better.
I’m more likely to purchase an LG Gaming Monitor. I’m hoping to build my own computer for the first time this year. And if I do, I’ll need a monitor to go with it. The 27″ UltraGear looks super awesome
I will go for a gaming monitor.
It can be used with a computer, a gaming system and also a TV.
Fast refresh rate really makes a big difference when using a monitor up close for gaming and for TV.
I would love to buy an LG CX TV this year for next gen gaming!
LG gaming monitor as I finally scored a GPU after trying for 2yrs.
I am more likely to purchase a LG gaming monitor in 2022 because I just purchased a new gaming PC and I need to upgrade my old monitor.
I would purchase an Lg monitor for 2022 over a gaming tv just because Lg monitors look so much clearer and the 240hz make it look really smooth!
Definitely would love to have an Lg ultraGear monitor because of its performance, clear display, and for its design!
With the LG gaming monitor im able to play series x while using 240hz and then my pc at the same time
Tv for sure.. I do alot with youtube and monitor don’t cut it.
LG Gaming Monitor for me because then I could use it with my Series X or my PC
I would love the LG gaming monitor!! My nephew is so into gaming right now and would be overjoyed!!
Probably the gaming tv because my lg monitor rn is pretty good and I want something dedicated just for my ps5. Want that crisp 4K 120hz on the big screen
LG gaming monitor. I would like to see what 240hz and the picture quality of an IPS panel is like
LG Gaming Monitor – Simply for the smallish desk space we have. Fits our needs better.
I’d prefer LG gaming tv because of the bigger display. I’ve never had a gaming monitor though so would be cool to try. I like the response time with high refresh rate and free sync on this monitor.
I’d prefer LG gaming TV so i can switch back and forth with gaming and some news or sports. This would be an upgrade to the monitor I got 6 or 7 years ago.
I would want an LG Gaming Monitor as it would work better on the desk where I currently have no monitor 🙁
An LG gaming TV ! Just because we got a PS5 for Christmas and they would quickly become best friends.
Gaming monitor is better as it can be used for high performance gameplay with accurate colour like a tv. And it better for setups in the bedroom and desk as well. I would probably use to take my gameplay to higher depths and take advantage of that 240hz panels. I’ll be cracked at the game.
Definitely an LG gaming monitor since my LG TV is relatively new and my monitor is VERY old!
I’ve never had the chance to play on any type of gaming monitor, just a regular tv.
I recently left work to focus on my mental health so having a monitor in my own space seems like a great idea!
Definitely the LG Gaming Monitor—currently building my PC setup and in desperate need of a decent monitor.
An LG gaming monitor! My current PC build is approaching the ten year mark and I’m overdue for a total setup overall in 2022!
I will go with LG TV for sure when C2 is released. With C2 I can play my PS5 with HDMI 2.1 and PC gaming.
What I like about this monitor is 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms GtG, NVIDIA G-Sync.
I have an LG Oled tv, if i have to purchase a new disply i’ll go with an LG monitor. Not only the quality of picture but the built is solid and well designed.
I would choose an LG gaming monitor because I want to build a new PC this year, and I already have a 55” LG OLED with a PS5.
LG gaming monitor. LG is very well known for their panel. I’ve recently started playing game, but the delay on my current monitor is not bearable. Most likely to get one.
Monitor for sure. Gotta get the desk set up first!
Monitor – I got the LGCX for my series X when it launched and I can’t sell it enough, great picture, great features. However – I want to set up something for the office when the kids or other fam are looking to game on their systems!
Gaming monitor – better refresh rates and also use it for work.
I would buy a gaming monitor better refresh rate and would be way better then I play my ps5 on currently
