LG gaming monitor contest
LG gaming monitors are the kind of upgrade gamers crave. Face it, doing anything interesting or important without a decent monitor is more challenging than it needs to be. If your monitor is slow, then you can’t help but be distracted by the latency. If your monitor presents colours that are not accurate, then you can miss important details or, at the very least, may notice them too late to benefit your performance. However, with a monitor like the LG UltraGear 27″ FHD 240Hz 1ms GTG IPS LED G-Sync FreeSync Gaming Monitor we are giving away in this contest, you will be ready to take on the most visually demanding games available.

LG displays have a reputation for excellence

You are likely familiar with the amazing televisions produced by LG. Those have been among the very best screens you can buy: a reputation that continues year after year. Their monitors are similarly impressive. However, the UltraGear line of gaming monitors stand out as a gamers ultimate choice for a variety of reasons. Some of these reasons are covered in Brad Moon’s detailed review of this monitor.

To start with, the 240Hz refresh rate is amazing. Consider that many monitors are refreshing the screen at half or a quarter that rate. You might think that you never noticed that to be problematic in the past. However, there are numerous studies supporting the view that a faster refresh rate is easier on our eyes, and enables quicker reactions to changes on the screen. That isn’t likely to affect us when watching a movie, likely shot at much less than 60 frames per second. Gaming, though, is much faster as your reaction time may determine the difference between winning and losing. As you get better at gaming, you’ll want the competitive advantage that a really fast refresh rate provides.

LG UltraGear monitors ensure you’re getting the best gaming experience

Optimum performance of a monitor during gaming depends on many technologies working together. The software in the game needs to be accurately interpreted by the graphics card in your computer and the signal sent from the graphics card needs to be reliably synchronized with the refresh rate of the monitor. When this is done poorly you get visual aberrations on the screen. For example, you may have heard of screen tearing; sections of the screen seem to break away from where they should be (like if a character’s head may be several inches from their body). Obviously distracting for you and possibly fatal for the character (haha). LG Monitors have a variety of synchronization technologies built-in. NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD Radeon FreeSync keep the visual display stable. In additions, Dynamic Action Sync reduces the lag between you hitting a key or controller button, and your character responding accordingly to avoid or initiate an attack.

Gaming monitors are designed for optimum gameplay. You may, however, be thinking: we need a new TV and a new monitor but our budget this year forces us to choose one or the other. Sometimes life is about compromise. If getting the most from your gaming is the most important thing for you this year: get an LG UltraGear monitor! If you know you will need a new TV this year and will have to wait until next year for a gaming monitor, get the next best thing … an LG gaming TV! As I said, LG TVs are legendary. Their gaming TVs have incorporate many technologies to enhance gaming, despite not having all of the great features of an LG UltraGear monitor.

Then there is the possibility that you enter this contest and I draw your name in a few weeks! There is the dream: win the LG UltraGear Monitor and then buy an LG gaming TV for the best of both worlds!

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in two different ways.

  1. In a comment below, tell us which type of display you are more likely to purchase in 2022, an LG gaming monitor or an LG gaming TV and why? It’s hypothetical so please don’t say neither; choose one or the other.
  2. In a comment below Brad Moon’s review of this monitor, tell us one reason why you really want this monitor in your home.

What you can win

At the end of this contest, we will randomly select two (2) winners from all eligible entries. Each winner will receive one of the LG UltraGear 27″ FHD 240Hz 1ms GTG IPS LED G-Sync FreeSync Gaming Monitors that we sent out for review.

This contest runs from March 11th until March 24th

Remember you can enter in two different ways as described above. However, you should also tell your friends and family, especially anyone you know who loves gaming so they too have a chance to win.

  1. I would love to have this monitor because my current screen is broken. It would help me with my studies and gaming as well.

  2. I want the LG UltraGear 27″ FHD 240Hz 1ms GTG IPS LED G-Sync FreeSync Gaming Monitors because im building a gaming pc for the first time and it is the perfect monitor for my new set up

  3. I’d go with an LG gaming monitor over a TV the refresh rates are so much better on a monitor. I’m also more of a PC gamer anyways lol. Good luck everyone!

  4. I’d want the LG Gaming Monitor because I am still using a monitor from 2013 because I can’t afford a new one

  5. I already have a OLED C1 and I am loving it. It would be amazing to have a gaming monitor on par with that tv!

  6. LG Gaming Monitor * productivity of my work would drastically increase not having to try and share one with my gamer boyfriend!

  7. I’m hoping to get an LG gaming monitor this year. I finally replaced a super old computer with a laptop but I only have the one small screen.

  8. 1- I would likely buy a LG gaming TV in 2022 because of a much bigger screen; my eyes are feeling pretty old as of late..

  9. 1- I would likely buy a LG gaming TV in 2022 because of a much bigger screen; my eyes are feeling pretty old as of late.

  10. Well I just recently purchased a computer and since I’m the only person who would use it, it only makes sense to have a monitor over a new TV. However if i purchased a gaming console it would only make sense to purchase the TV so we could all enjoy gaming together. Therefore That’s why I would chose the monitor over the TV.
And for the second reason as to why I would want an LG monitor it’s very simple I don’t have a monitor yet but i plan on getting one soon so this would be awesome contest to win.

  11. An LG gaming TV because I use my TV alot more than my computer or laptop and the screens are available in larger sizes for tvs as well as offer many smart features and it’s just mire convenient overall especially to switch to streaming movies etc. All in one main device to kick back and enjoy an all in one home entertainment system.

  12. LG gaming monitor – I’m pretty content with my current LG OLED TV, even though it’s prone to my gaming burn ins (yikes). On the monitor side, I haven’t upgraded in the last 10 years, so I’m still running basic mismatched monitors and looking to gradually up my PC gaming setup.

  13. It would have to be a LG gaming TV for me. I knew about gaming monitors but never considered there would be a gaming TV. I prefer console gaming and my daughter and I play some games together so a TV would be best for our needs.

  14. I would get the ultragear gaming monitor. The TV looks great, but the space saving of a monitor in my condo is very necessary.

  15. I would purchase an LG UltraGear Gaming monitor for sure because as a streamer/gamer, frames win games and a high refresh rate monitor like this would definitely give me a leg up!

  16. I would be buying the monitor Refresh rates are simply more important to me for PC gaming and streaming. I also find the CPUs in “smart” TVs can be cumbersome and slow. Anyway! Happy shopping everyone!

  17. I am currently all set for TVs, but have one sad-sack computer with a small monitor that’s probably feeling a little insecure so I would be much more likely to purchase a gaming monitor. That could be the kick in the pants I need to upgrade the computer as well.

  18. LG gaming monitor would be my choice because I like to be alone when I’m gaming in a separate space all my own.

  19. More likely to buy an LG OLED TV. This because we are an LG family on all our displays, best in market.

  20. I’d definitely get a monitor over a tv, just due to needing a good screen for work and gaming, as i hardly play on console too much. would be great to have in my home as it looks really cool and a great upgrade from what i currently have, and was looking to upgrade soon

  21. I am more likely to buy a LG gaming TV as I enjoy sitting on my couch and gaming with family or friends. (Also cause I am a console gamer) 😀

  22. I’m more likely to purchase an LG gaming monitor as I don’t really game on my TV. Also, the gaming monitor can be used for work during the day!

  23. Gaming tv’s have always felt console focused. Some people have been running them for PC’s but they are excessively big. A gaming monitor is perfect. You get the best of the best for gaming and then maybe buy a more cinema focused tv.

  24. I would say LG Gaming TV as i could stream/game on it but also watch high end shows without having switch between.
