The word “smart” gets thrown around a lot these days whenever people are talking about tech. Sometimes it means it connects to the internet, so you can access features via an app. Smart lights are examples of this. At some point in the future, “smart” devices will uniformly predict when and how you want to use them and behave appropriately without your intervention. Samsung smart monitors fall somewhere between these two.

My daughter recently bought a monitor and I offered to send her a Roku streaming stick so she could watch movies on it in her apartment. However, the monitor didn’t have internal speakers so she could watch movies but couldn’t hear them. The Samsung M5 and M7 do have speakers. However, they have a lot more than that.

The M7 is the best for a student. More screen real estate and it is 4k, so you have all the extra screen space, without concerns of the lack of pixel density.
M7 has a larger screen so the student can see things easily
There is a need, and a want. Samsung M5 is good for a student’s need, and it’s lighter and more portable for dorm residents. Not as good as the M7 but it’s a deter from too much entertainment.
I’d say the M5 would be best. It is a bit smaller and desk space may be limited.
The M7 would be better for a student as the bigger screen offers much more space to work (and play!) on.

I’d say the Samsung M7 would better for a student due to the size of the monitor (27″ vs 32″). Being able to have several items up on the screen at one time means better capacity to multi task, especially important for the busy student juggling so many things!
The M5 would be great for a student because it allows a student to get their work done as well as relax in a relatively compact screen.

M7 – larger screen to work with!
A student probably will choose M5. A 27″ is big enough for daily use and more fit for a student’s budget. Also a FHD monitor won’t need an expensive GPU to play computer games.
As a student, the samsung M7 would be amazing because the bigger the screen, the better. So much easier to manage documents and papers!
The Samsung M7 would be nice for a student. For someone who uses adobe photoshop on a regular basis, the wide screen is amazing and very useful for it for better productivity.
