You may think that one computer monitor is much like any other but you would be wrong. Monitors come in different sizes, different styles with different abilities and uses. Enter this contest and you may discover just how great a monitor can be: the prize is a BenQ Zowie Gaming Monitor that is very light, and is designed to handle the faced paced demands of today’s video games. It’s perfect for the student heading back to school, or any home where the computer does more than just spreadsheets.

What makes a monitor great

We are long past the days where the computer monitor occupied a major portion of your computer desk, and was a pain to move because of its weight and awkwardness. Monitors in 2017 keep getting thinner, lighter and brighter so you can work and play without getting eye strain, move them without getting a hernia, and place them on almost any table or desk and they don’t get in the way.

The prize for this contest is a great example of what I’m talking about. The BenQ monitor has the features that anyone would covet in a monitor. The bonus comes if you are into video games, and especially eSports, since this monitor is designed to refresh very quickly so that your focus remains on the game, not on the flickering screen.

BenQ Zowie Console Gaming Monitor Features

We recently sent this monitor to independent blogger Chris Loblaw for an unbiased review. Read the full review yourself, but here are some features that he called out as especially useful:

  • easy setup: great for everyone who upgrades their monitor
  • light and portable: great for taking to eSports turnaments
  • fast refresh rate of 1ms is faster than most televisions
  • black eQualizer setting: allows you to enhance the blacks with dulling the whole scene
  • low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain
  • flicker free: flicker too can cause eye-strain
  • non-reflective frame: another feature meant to enhance the gaming experience

Right now you may be thinking, “how can I get one of these?” There are two ways: you can just go online and purchase one from Best Buy (that’s the easiest way); you can also enter this contest. Even you don’t need a new monitor yourself, you probably know a student who’ll be going back to school in the fall who would love to get a BenQ gaming monitor.

  1. I love the low blue light emission – my son is the gamer and he plays a LOT so it would be better on his eyes. And I’m all over that.

  2. My brother enjoys gaming but does have eye problems. After gaming I often notice that his eyes are red and strained . The low blue light and flicker free features are great they would help reduce the strain on my brothers eyes while he is gaming .

  3. My brother enjoys gaming but for have eye problems. After gaming I often notice that his eyes are red and strained . The low blue light and flicker free features are great they would help reduce the strain on my brothers eyes while he is gaming .

  4. I love the low blue light to reduce eye strain. Some people play games for a long time and this certainly would help to have this.

  5. I like the brighter screen – being able to see clearly and in high def makes everything that much more awesome!

  6. I love a lot of the features, but my favourite has to be the specially designed frame reduces light reflection from the screen because I play near a window that often has a lot of reflections from the sun in the day and lights in the evening.

  7. I like the black eQualizer setting – I’m colour-blind, so find the greys really hard to distinguish.

  8. I love that it’s flicker free! Our family spends too much time in front of screens, and that would be a great help 😉

  9. I really like that it has low blue light: drastically reducing eye-strain – I spend a lot of time in front of my screen , this is very appealing to me.

  10. I love that it’s light and easy to move. My teen son is always wanting to move our monitor to different rooms.

  11. NON REFLECTIVE SCREENS ARE WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING MY WHOLE LIFE FOR!! No more desperate dark rooms and moving away from windows!!

  12. I like the size and portability as well as the low blue light which aids in reducing eye strain. The fast response time makes the gaming experience far better!

  13. I love how light it is! And the non-reflective screen is a plus. Thanks for the chance!

  14. The monitor is very clear and especially up close. I don’t see the pix-elation you normally see in monitors in this price range. Also you can view the monitor at different angles without loosing clarity.

  15. I like that it has low blue light which reduces eye-strain because I am often in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.

  16. For me it has to be the fast refresh rate of 1ms is faster than most televisions, need that in action games for sure.

  17. The feature that’s my favorite would be the Black eQualizer which improves visibility by using colour engine technology to brighten dark scenes to help me spot the enemy because I definitely need it when I’m playing games and hunting down something in the dark! 😉
