What is an external SSD?

External solid-state drive technology is a fast and reliable storage solution that can store thousands of gigabytes worth of files. Many computers nowadays have SSDs as an internal storage device, but the problem with relying on your own computer’s storage drive is that it can slow your system down as you max out its capacity. So if you’re the type that requires ample storage capacity to save your work, projects, or anything that you want a digital copy of, a dedicated external SSD is definitely a must-have.

Go digital with the Samsung T7 Shield

External SSDs are a lifesaver. Many people use SSDs to back up their computers, so they won’t lose their data in case their device gets damaged or stolen. Many professionals like photographers, videographers, and other digital creators rely on digital storage to save their bread and butter, to safe keep all their life’s work. Gamers use external SSDs to boost their computers storage capacity, so it can handle games that comes in large files.

I think anyone can benefit from using external SSDs, like the Samsung T7 Shield. There are a lot of things around us that are better kept in digital form. Use your external SSD as a backup for your important documents, like birth records or university transcripts, and other memorabilia that you want to keep for a long time. You can also use it as a digital filer to keep your tax documents, invoices, and receipts. For students, an external SSD is a good place to save a digital copy of your term papers, readings, and projects. This way you’re sure to always have a copy of them for a long time, with less the clutter.

  2. I would love a great backup system to store my precious family pictures so I’d know they are safe.

  3. I would love to win this back up for my pictures and to back up personal files as insurance. This would be a game changer for me, as I am famous for filling up our hard drive with picture files and then not being able to delete my files when needed- so much easier knowing I can load them onto a back up in case I need more space!!! It would also be great to try out some new gaming with a set up like this!!

  4. I would bake date my tax files and family photos. I don;t have a good back up down so would be perfect.

  5. this would be so perfect for saving all my precious photos and videos. can’t count the number of times of lost stuff with a broken device. the worst!

  11. I need a Samsung T7 Shield portable solid-state drive because all my important files are currently spread out on random drives and not organized at all… I would back up my photography, so they never get lost or stolen.

  12. I currently use USB sticks for transfers and an external mechanical drive for backups. This would allow me to combine those functions into one device, and often eliminate one or two data copy steps. Mostly photo/video files, but also system drive backups. Making that fast and easy enough encourages one to do it more often.

  13. Having a drive to backup files is essential given the risk of being hacked and having your files held for ransom.
