Sometimes two products work together so well that they mesh into an extension of one another and become that much better than either is on its own. Each might be pretty cool, but together, they becomes something special. That’s the case with Samsung’s Galaxy S5 smartphone and its Galaxy Fit fitness band. I had a week to try out these Samsung flagship devices and came away impressed with how well the two combine into what’s currently one of the best experiences out there for someone with an active, connected lifestyle.

At first, when my pals at Best Buy Canada gave me the Fitbit Charge HR to try out, I was kind of shocked. I mean, I’ve previously discussed my obsession with my Fitbit—I use it everyday. Am I not exercising enough for you, Best Buy? But then I realized that, as usual, my tech savvy friends are opening my eyes to another life-enhancer! And, although I love my Fitbit, I think I’m IN LOVE with the Charge HR.

Huge applause goes to the Best Buy Canada team for organizing the #LifeAndTech expo at Dundas Square in Toronto. The day was jam-packed with the latest in wearable technology as well as the chance to immerse into virtual reality. I must preface, I wrote this post at the end of a very long (yet fun) day of tweeting for @BestBuyCanada. In addition, the expo ended with a mesmerizing performance by Bob Marley’s son, Ky-Mani. Say what you want about wearable tech - it’s here to stay! The beauty of wearable tech devices is that it can help monitor your health, fitness goals, calorie intake, etc. Even if you think the data is useless, at least it’s becoming more and more fashionable. Even major fashion brands like Kate Spade and Rebecca Minkoff are entering the space. Impress your girlfriend, mom, sister, or lady friend with a piece of cool wearable tech. The ladies love stylish gadgets!
