A Kobo Arc for all your reading needs

0

When it comes to e-readers and tablets, Kobo has grown from an underdog competing against the Kindle to a leading manufacturer that also happens to operate a top notch e-bookstore. The current line-up of Kobo Arc tablets is particularly attractive, offering performance, brilliant high resolution displays, full access to Android apps and combined this with Kobo’s e-book expertise. Kobo has positioned the Arc line as the best tablet choice for readers. But which Kobo Arc is the right choice for you? In this post, I explore the differences between the Kobo Arc 7HD, Kobo Arc 10HD and the Kobo Arc 7.

Hands on With the Surface Pro 3 at the Surface Café

0

I recently took the time to visit Microsoft’s first ever Surface Café on Toronto’s Queen Street West. You can read about the session I attended where DC comic book artist (and the guy who currently draws Batman) Francis Manapul showed how Microsoft’s new tablet has become an integral part of his digital workflow. While video game consoles continue to get better, try telling the large number of diehard gamers that they should give up their gaming PC. Why settle for the 1080p graphics dished up by consoles when you can enjoy higher quality video effects at 4K resolution? And, with PC gaming you can go mobile, thanks to gaming laptops. Just don’t think you can pull off a graphically demanding title like Battlefield 4 on any old laptop or PC. You need a specialized gaming rig in order to make the most of what PC games have to offer.

High end routers compared: ASUS RT-AC5300 and Netgear Nighthawk X8

With the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard now over two years old, we are starting to see routers that push the technology to unbelievable levels. The AC1200 routers that were once so impressive seem pedestrian compared to the extreme performance of AC5300 routers. But who needs this kind of Wi-Fi speed? I tried out two of the fastest Wi-Fi routers on the planet—the ASUS RT-AC5300 and Netgear Nighthawk X8—to find out.
