One of my most memorable Real Madrid moments is when Sergio Ramos scored that iconic last-minute header in the 2014 UEFA Champions League final against Atletico Madrid. Aside from loving the players in their own careers (Bellingham, Tchouaméni, Mbappe, etc). My favourite moment is a bit more personal, I remember walking with my family on vacation while wearing my Real Madrid Jersey. A guy sitting in a bar outside saw me wearing the jersey and yelled: “HALA MADRID”. My sister and I turned around in shock and laughed so hard. I didn’t answer the man, but it made me smile and I’ll never forget that day.

This is gonna be hard….but the most outstanding Real Madrid memory for me is the most recent Champions League run, and the finals vs Dortmund this past season. Never ever discount Madrid. In that final they looked a tad cautious. Both teams had their opportunities, but then in the second half, Madrid turned on a switch and boom boom. 2-0 thanks to goals scored 10 minutes apart. They deflated the Dortmund fans and players. What a moment for Madrid. And great seeing the manager “Don” Carlo winning. For many years he worked at clubs that I don’t think gave him the respect he deserved. But Ancelotti at Madrid again has proven people wrong. He’s the man, he can handle big players and personalities.

It was in Chicago on July 31st, 2024, I flew from Montreal to Chicago to watch Real Madrid play for the first time in my life in person. Singing “Hala Madrid!” With thousand of other madridistas in a sold out stadium of over 60,000 people, that just was indescribable. Definitely felt like I was at a home game in Madrid at the Bernabeu, but the experience made it all worth it. seeing my idol, Luka Modric play for the very first time as well on the field in a Real Madrid jersey was definitely a big moment to witness and one of my checked off moment on my bucket list. I love this team, I love the legacy of this team, I love the fans, I love everything about this team and what it stands for. Every time I watch a Real Madrid game, it’s a memorable one. HALA MADRID !
