Growing up, my mom would always make Christmas cookies for us to decorate and hang on our tree as delicious little ornaments. When friends would come over they were allowed to choose a cookie from the tree to enjoy.

Every year my family makes a festive fruitcake. It’s always magical having the whole family around since it’s a recipe passed down through generations. We always get up to some silly shenanigans when Gramps starts helping in the kitchen

I remember when I was a young girl, helping my Gran bake gooseberry pie for the whole family one Christmas. It’s one of my most cherished memories!
First Christmas dinner at my girlfriend’s parent’s house. She raved about her mom’s turkey. Halfway through the cooking process the oven broke. We ended up barbecuing it in a snowstorm. Turkey was delicious.

I love coming home for Christmas. Being single means different meals from family style living. I live the prime rib roast and popovers Mom makes for my grand entry.
We enjoy baking squares and cookies over the holidays, like nanaimo bars and sugar cookies. We love eating them, too.
Mom is teaching my wife old German recipes. I am presently fermenting cabbage for sauerkraut – tasts much better than store bought versions.
We are excited to try a new recipe in our kitchen -Spatchcock turkey with vegetables. forget the old conventional turkey roasting.

My brother wants one of these mixers as he inherited the cooking gene from our parents. Both our dad and mom were great cooks and my brother has carried on the tradition of cooking the Christmas meals they used to create. Me, not so much. I once attempted to boil marshmallows as a kid to make S’Mores. Nuff, said.
