BenQ has been getting serious about gaming. Along with expanding its Mobiuz line of monitors with the Zowie monitors specifically designed for e-sports, the company is also launching an e-sports mouse. Complementing that is a new line of home theatre projectors for those who really want to go big when they’re gaming. All these products will be on display at CES 2023, which officially kicks off January 5.
BenQ Mobiuz EX480UZ 48-inch monitor
This monitor (shown above) screams gaming tech. Available in a massive size (seriously, it’s as big as a TV!) combined with the 120Hz refresh rate and 0.1ms GTG response time, it can keep up with fast-action video games. Boasting 4K OLED resolution, the monitor provides accurate colour reproduction. This is especially important to gamers as it can mean the difference between winning a match and not seeing an opponent crouching around a corner.
BenQ notes that the EX480UZ isn’t just for gamers but will be useful for content creators and video editing professionals and enthusiasts as well.
Also in the monitor space, BenQ will be showing the 240Hz EX270M and EX270QM, and the 4K EX3210U with 144Hz refresh rates. The company will also be demonstrating its exclusive HDRi technology. HDRi reportedly optimizes the HDR effect based on the ambient lighting conditions. It can do things like add high dynamic range to content that isn’t available in HDR quality while maintaining the proper brightness levels. There are dedicated HDRi modes for gaming and movies as well.
BenQ home theatre projectors
BenQ will also be showing its HT4550i, HT2060, and GP500 home theatre projectors, all three of which are being officially unveiled at CES 2023. These might not necessarily be gaming tech products, but they can certainly provide an ultra big screen experience for gaming if desired.
More details are to come about these three models, but we do know that each has its own stand-out feature. The HT4550i offers HDR colour accuracy and vertical and horizontal lens shift. Geared at casual gamers, the HT2060 is a 4LED projector that achieves accurate colour reproduction. It can display an image up to 100 inches in size with a throw ratio of 8.2 feet. As the 4K HDR LED smart home protector in the line, the GP500 combines stunning visuals with a 360° sound field for a totally immersive experience.
BenQ will also be showing its existing model X3000i 4K HDR 4 LED gaming projector. That model offers accurate colour, 3,000 ANSI lumens, HDR10/HLG, and up to 4ms response time.
BenQ Zowie XL2566K for e-sports enthusiasts
The recently announced BenQ Zowie XL2566K is a exciting new innovation in gaming tech: it’s a monitor designed specifically for e-sports gamers, though it can be appreciated by any type of gamer. With a 24.5-inch 360Hz screen, the fast TN panel and DyAc technology work together to further help reduce motion blur. This, in turn, results in ultra-smooth gameplay with virtually no lag.
New to the Zowie line and introduced at the show will be e-sports accessories to complement the set-up. Among these are the C Series Gaming mice and Limited-Edition B Series V2 Mice.
Both were developed using “sports science,” says BenQ, and are designed to help reduce fatigue during prolonged gaming sessions. They both feature a paracord cable to offer greater flexibility while gaming.
The C Series Mouse has a 24-step scroll wheel. The V2, meanwhile, boasts an ultra-sleek design in either matte red or glossy white. Finishing off the set-up will be the G-SR-SE Rouge Mousepad. It’s made with a uniform high-density rubber case and non-stitched edges that BenQ says results in a smoother feel than traditional non-gamer mousepads.
Houston Wei, Senior Director at BenQ North America, says the gaming tech gear is designed not to just to check a box for gamers, but to “think outside of it.”
