I’ve owned a Meta Quest 2 for over a year (back then it was the Oculus Quest 2), and I’m a huge fan of the amazing little VR headset. I tried VR before we bought it and other headsets were never as vivid or realistic as the Oculus. Now that I’ve had a chance to really use it, I’ve learned the games, experiences, and videos you can play and watch are practically endless. I’ve also discovered there are quite a few cool Meta Quest 2 accessories you can pick up to make the most of your VR headset.
Accessories you need for your Meta Quest 2
We’ve had a lot of fun discovering all of the cool experiences you can try out in VR. Something like Google Earth takes on an entirely new meaning when you’re ‘there’ virtually, and Halloween becomes even more fun when you can walk through 3 or 4 different haunted houses without leaving your living room.
To have even more fun with your headset, take a look at these three great accessories.
1. Meta Quest 2 Elite Strap with Battery
The only issue we’ve had when playing the Meta Quest 2 is that the battery will occasionally run out before we’re ready to stop playing. Thankfully, there’s an accessory for that.
The Meta Quest 2 Elite Strap with battery is designed specifically for the headset. It has a built-in rechargeable battery pack that keeps you playing for hours. Not only does it give you a power boost, but the strap itself works as a brace to keep your VR headset perfectly supported on your head. There’s an adjustable fit wheel to let you dial in your strap size so it’s easy to switch from person to person, and keeps your VR headset positioned right your vision is the clearest.
2. Meta Quest 2 Carrying Case
When you’re finished playing with your headset and you want a safe place to store it, the best spot is the Meta Quest 2 Carrying Case. It’s a lightweight case with a padded interior, and it fits all of your gear including the Elite Strap with battery accessory, the headset itself, two Touch controllers, and your charging cable.
The carrying case makes it easy to take your headset with you wherever you go, and the custom inlay and moulding keep everything organized so it’s ready to play when you are.
3. Insignia Cable
One of the best parts of this VR headset is how you can play it without any cables, but if you do want to connect it to your PC that’s easy to do too. The Insignia USB Type-C cable gives you a 5 meter (16.4 feet) wired connection to your PC. That’s enough space to freely move around while still maintaining a connection to your computer.
The cable is made from active fibre construction and it’s designed to minimize latency and give you speedy signal transmission. Although you’re connected via cable, you’ll enjoy distortion-free gaming with minimal signal loss.
