Premium TVs begin with outstanding new technology
I get this question quite frequently on the blog and on social media, “I want to buy a new TV; can you tell me which TV should I get?” My answer is to figure out your budget and space considerations for the room where it will be placed, then get the most future friendly TV with the largest screen that will fit in your home that you can afford. Future friendly means best technology available. And this year is a banner year for new technology in televisions.
I am planning on getting a new set for my home one day. I have a budget in mind and a TV size in mind (65 inch). I haven’t decided which brand to purchase yet because they are all so tempting! Each of the top manufactures has released new televisions with outstanding new technologies that make the colours more vibrant, details clearer, and the overall entertainment experience much better.
Do your research and plan for your next TV
Buying a television does require doing a bit of research. This contest will help you do that so you will know which future friendly Premium TV will be right for your home. There are three television prizes, one from each of the major TV manufacturers, Samsung, Sony, and LG, as shown here.
These are all premium prizes, so you must do a bit of work before you enter to win one of them. Since each of these brands provided a prize for this contest, you’ll be allowed to enter once per brand. Read the directions below carefully.
How to enter
Entering this contest is easy and you can enter once for each brand that provided a prize to this contest for a total of three unique entries: one entry about Sony, one about Samsung, and one about LG. For each entry, in a comment below, tell us
a) which new technology by that brand has you most excited about their Premium TVs this year. You can go to these articles for information about the new technology from each brand.
b) which model by that brand on the Best Buy website is your favourite (you must be precise: saying something like “any model” is not a valid response).

At the end of the contest, we will randomly select three winners from all eligible entries to receive one of the three televisions shown above.
This contest runs from June 1st to June 15th.
Remember you can enter once for each brand of television offered as a prize in this contest. However, you must know lots of people who would be thrilled for a chance to win one of these televisions. One TV technology that I think is fantastic is LG’s NanoCell technology. As the name implies, NanoCell technology uses nanoparticles which filter out dull colours, and by doing so, enhances the purity of the colour spectrum.
The LG TV that I would love to own is the LG NanoCell 65″ 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV (65NANO86UNA)!
Samsung has incredible LED technology such as QLED. By having more than 8 million pixels in total, Samsung 4K TVs have four times greater detail as compared to there HD TV’s! Samsung LED TV’s bring better real-life colour, very vivid brightness, and incredible detail for the best viewing experience!
The Samsung The Frame 65″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN65LS03TAFXZC) is a model that I love and really showcases the best of Samsung’s technology!
Sony OLED technology Master Series model XBR77A9G is my Sony choice due to its thin profile 4K UHD resolution. Its TRILUMINOS Super Bit Mapping and Motionflow XR produces true-to-life colours, and the immersive experience includes Acoustic Surface and Dolby Atmos, voice recognition search capability.
For LG, the NanoCell technology is the technology I am most excited for, as vibrant colours are always amazing. My favorite model would be the LG NanoCell 65″ 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV Smart TV (65NANO90UNA).
For Samsung, I think the “The Frame” is my favourite new “technology” or feature of the Samsung televisions. My favorite model would be the Samsung The Frame 55″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN55LS03TAFXZC).
For Sony, the TRILUMINOS Display technology is an exciting feature that I would like to experience. For myself, my favorite model would be the Sony 85″ 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV (XBR85X800H).
I love Sony’s top of the line colour technology, the TRILUMINOS Display! The TRILUMINOS Display achieves such amazing true to life colours by analyzing and processing each frame.
The model I like the best that has the amazing TRILUMINOS Display is the Sony 65″ 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV (XBR65X950H).
LG Nanocell technology is what I’m most excited by. Amazing colour and high viewing angles lets everyone in the room have the same viewing experience. My favourite LG model is the 75SM8670PUA.
Samsung AI technology to upscale content to 8K sounds amazing. The difference from SD to HD was great, and going to 8K is another huge leap. The QN55Q900RBFXZC is my favourite from Samsung.
Sony’s TRILUMINOS display technology is what I’m most excited about. 4K UHD HDR would all be huge improvements for watching movies or gaming. I think the XBR75X800H is my favourite model.
The new LG TV’s also offer 8K TV at four times the resolution of the 4K model with LG Nano Colour Pro technology – that it going to make for one realistic, crystal clear picture! My favourite LG TV to view this on would be the LG NanoCell 75″ 8K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV Smart TV (75NANO99UNA).

The Frame by Samsung looks amazing – Specifically the Frame 65″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV would fit in our family room and we’d love to share amazing art when not watching TV!

I’m seriously impressed by how slim these LG TVs can get; some models are only 2-3cm deep!
despite how thin these TVs are, they still produce amazing 4k graphics, integrate with home devices, and create high quality audio. Truly an amazing device.
Samsung 85″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV is my favourite samsung model. I’m interested in the 240Hz refresh rate and “quantum dot” colours which sounds like it would provide an amazing viewing experience. I also like how the tv integrates with wifi and comes preloaded with applications like netflix, crave, and google play

x motion clarity technology – I love watching action movies and this would improve experience so much! especially lately that the world has been isolated, I’m playing way more video games with friends to connect and watching movies with family. We won’t miss the action if we blink. 65” Sony X900H is my top pick!
For the LG I like the LG NanoCell 55″ 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV and the magic remote feature.
