Why you should be looking at Samsung TVs in 2023

Have you looked at the range of TVs on display at a Best Buy store these days? I have. Impressive. Almost all of them are LED TVs, though there are a range of types of LED TVs. In the store your eyes will first be drawn to the stunning Samsung Frame TVs. We gave one of these away earlier this year on the blog. Then you’ll look at some of the other types of LEDs and, if you are like most people, you’ll be confused by the terms: OLED, QLED, and Neo QLED. All three are great. All three do some things better than other things. For example, OLEDs have the best blacks thanks to individual self-lighting pixels. QLED has the best brightness (great for bright rooms) thanks to the backlighting. Neo QLEDs are the best combination thanks to their arrays of mini-LED backlighting. Samsung QLED and Neo QLEDs have other advantages too including lower costs.

Why do you want a new TV this fall

Each year, the fall season seems to usher in not just pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, but also a surge in people bringing home new TV sets. Here are the top two reasons why:

1. New models and clearance sales

Television manufacturers often release new models in the spring and summer so by fall, these new releases have had time to be reviewed so you know which ones to buy. This not only help you make more informed decisions but also puts pressure on retailers to clear out older inventory to make room for the next generation of models. So whether you are looking for the best new TVs or last year’s models at significant savings, this is the best time of year.

2. Ready for holiday entertainment and sports events

The fall season is a precursor to major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, all of which are synonymous with family gatherings and home entertainment. People anticipate needing a better or bigger TV to host movie marathons, special broadcasts, and, of course, holiday specials. Additionally, fall is a significant season for sports with the NFL, NBA, and NHL seasons bringing excitement into our homes. The lure of watching big games and key matchups on a shiny new screen can be hard to resist.

Fall is a perfect storm of incentives; it’s the season not just for falling leaves but also for finding the perfect new TV for your home on television sets. And it’s the perfect time for us to have a contest giving two of the newest and best TVs away.

At the end of this contest, we will randomly draw two winners. One will receive the Samsung QN90C TV that Shelly reviewed and the other will receive the Samsung Q70C TV that Shelly reviewed.

This contest runs from Sept 15th to Oct 1st.

We desperately need a new TV in the living room, we currently have a dinosaur…. it weighs about 60lbs and makes a very high pitched humm buzz noise that really messes with your ears!     The total hours of viewing really vary, if my husband is working, it’s minimal, generally the news and a little bit of evening tv, but if he’s home and ANY football or hockey is on, he’s got that tv on. I’d estimate from 2-8hrs per day. I learned that this QN90C has an anti-reflective coating, which is wonderful as our set actually faces a picture window, we often have to close our curtains when watching anything during daylight hours, so I think this is a wonderful feature.

    I learned about AI, and more about color and quantum dots in display quality. I believe that a 55 or 65 inch model would be best for our living room wall cabinet.

  20. I’d love a new tv this fall because the unit in my livingroom is built for a bigger set than we have, and it looks a little odd. As well, I love a good viewing experience. I don’t have specific shows but ALL the home decor, home reno and real estate shows are watched regularly, oh and I’d love to catch up on The Crown.

    The Television that I have is really old now and the colours burned into the screen a long time ago, yes it is that old. The two shows I look forward to watching the most if I win this contest are Survivor and Jeopardy!

  37. I would love to have a new Samsung QN90C TV this fall because it has amazing features that would enhance my viewing experience. Here are two reasons why I think this TV is perfect for me:

    It has a mini-LED backlight with full-array local dimming, which means it can deliver high brightness and deep blacks for stunning contrast and vivid colors. I want to watch movies and shows that have HDR content, such as The Fall of the House of Usher and A Murder at the End of the World, and enjoy the details in both dark and bright scenes.
    It has an anti-glare screen that minimizes light reflection, which is great for daytime viewing. I don’t want to miss any action or dialogue because of annoying glare from the sun or other sources of light. I want to watch sports and news without any distractions, such as The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and The Continental: From the World of John Wick.
    These are two shows that I’m most looking forward to watching this fall on my new Samsung QN90C TV:

    The Fall of the House of Usher: This is a horror series based on the classic story by Edgar Allan Poe, starring Bruce Greenwood, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, and Carl Lumbly. I’m a fan of Poe’s works and I’m curious to see how they adapt his tale of madness, mystery, and murder to a modern setting. I also like the cast and the premise of a pharmaceutical empire built on secrets and lies.
    A Murder at the End of the World: This is a mystery series with a new kind of detective at the center, played by Emma Corrin. She is a young journalist who investigates a murder in Antarctica, where she uncovers a conspiracy that could have global implications. I’m intrigued by the setting and the plot, and I also want to see Corrin’s performance after her acclaimed role as Princess Diana in The Crown.

  49. I would like to replace my TV upstairs with a higher quality one and to be able to give the old one to my daughter. The two shows I would watch are and National Geographic show on Disney Plus and the National on CBC.
