Arlo security cameras can help make any home more secure, whether you are home or away from home. The peace of mind you get while you are sleeping is nothing compared to the calm you feel while on holidays, still able to see your home with the app on your phone or tablet. They are a versatile and reliable way to be aware of everything happening near your home. This is especially true of the Arlo camera bundles, like the Essential bundle we are giving away in this contest. Learn more about how this bundle is essential for travellers, then enter for a chance to win one.
Why prowlers don’t like Arlo cameras
Last week, a neighbour posted on our community Facebook page that he had a prowler on his property the previous night. His dog was “yapping like crazy” he said and he saw the back of a dark figure running down his driveway. He had no idea who it was and could not give much of a description. I’m sure this particular prowler didn’t like that this property had a dog. However, they would have really hated if it had Arlo cameras capturing a crystal clear picture on video that could be instantly shared with neighbours and with the police.
The Arlo Essential camera bundle we are giving away gives better security than a dog for many reasons. A dog might bark, which might potentially scare off an intruder (but not always since brazen thieves might not care if a dog is inside the house). However, when the camera suddenly illuminates the area, the natural first thing to do is to look into the light. At that instant the thief knows they have been captured on video, and that video has already been sent to the cloud. There is nothing they can do at that point. Another reason that this bundle is better than a dog is because it comes with four cameras, for equally strong security coverage at multiple sites in or around your home. Lastly, this security is equally strong even if you and your dog are not home. While you are on holidays, your dog may be with a friend or family member. Your cameras, however, are placed at essential locations around your home: they’re wireless so you will move them around as you please inside and outside your home. You can access the footage, and share clear HD video of nasty prowlers, no matter where you are in the world.
Rethink what is essential for your next trip so you don’t forget anything
Forgetting is normal, it’s human—but it’s also frustrating! Preparation is the key to a vacation with everything essential taken care of. Will you be travelling somewhere this spring or summer? Check out our travel buying guide well before you leave to help you prepare. Our intention was to make it broad enough so that it could help as many people as possible. That article has five sections to help you focus on the many things you might want to consider before your next trip. You’ll noticed, that the last section is about home security: often this is the last thing people think about. Hopefully one lasting impact you get from entering this contest, whether you win the Arlo Essential camera bundle prize or not, is that you take care of home security well before your next trip.Â

Win an Arlo Essential smart home camera bundle Rules and Regulations
Good Luck!
I think most people forget a travel power adaptor and water bottle
I would like to use Arlo camera systems for home security. no dogs needed it would be too much work for me and my family.
I think that two essential things mentioned in the buying guide that people tend to forget before going on a trip is a neck pillow and a luggage scale. You don’t remember the pillow until your neck hurts and you don’t remember the luggage scale until you buy a bunch of souvenirs to bring home!
I would rather have both a guard dog and an Arlo camera system so I could watch my guard dog with the camera system, lol!
People tend to forget an unlocked cell phone and a travel power adapter (if going international).
I would like to have both an Arlo camera and a dog. A loud barking dog may scare some away and a camera might too.
Well I don’t have to feed, walk, or clean up after the Arlo camera so I will go with that!
Most people forget a neck pillow and a tablet
an Arlo camera set – way less work
Battery packs and drinking water are two things I think people forget about. When travelling you are all go go go. You and your gear need energy.
Pets pee on the floor. Cameras all the way.
As much as I love my dog, he cannot tell me who, what, where and when like Arlo Cameras can.
The arlo cameras because in my opinion this camera provides better quality images.
I think most people tend to forget to bring a travel power adapter and a power bank because they are small items that are hard to remember sometimes.
I’d choose to have an arlo security system over a guard dog because the arlo system have many features that the dog doesn’t have.
I would like to have an Arlo camera system for security. I would not have a dog as I am not really a dog person.
People forget to bring extra camera cards and a water bootleg to stay hydrated
Arlington camera bundle because I can review the footage
I would rather the camera system as my dog isn’t much of a guard dog she would just pee herself
I think most travelers tend to forget to bring a compact day pack on their trips. They also overlook the usefulness of having a gps device with them to prevent being lost!
It’d be great to have both a guard dog and an Arlo camera :).
Guard dog to audibly ward off evil-doers; Arlo camera to catch them in the act.
Would like to have an arlo system and dog for protection. Thanks
I would like an Arlo camera system as I have a large dog already.
As someone who just did it and it’s not the first time a Travel power adapter had to run out find someone who could speak English and tell me where I could buy one as mine was on the kitchen table. Also a Power Bank very useful carry with me everywhere.
I would like to have both a guard dog as I love dogs and feel it would just be an added protection for my family as they also sence when something is wrong so can be trained for many things, and the Arlo camera system as I would feel more secure when at home and away being able to see whats going on, also for safety as we have a pool and hot tub and often worry about young ones jumping over fence and going in when we are sleeping.
power bank and adapters
camera; i dont want to have to walk a dog in our winter weathers.
From my travels a power adapter is key, and binoculars are amazing for getting clear views.
I would like an Arlo camera system as I have a large yard and these would be perfect.
I would love both, the camera for crystal clear pictures of what is going on and the dog for an added level of security.
Need this more then I need a guard dog
I think people forget to have an unlocked cell phone and power banks.
I would rather have both an Arlo and a guard dog. The multi layer of security would be beneficial.
People often forget a water bottle and a GPS.
An arlo camera. A dog is a pet and I do not want it to have a guard dog mentality.
I think most people forget a travel power adaptor and a day bag
I would rather have an arlo camera because it does not have to be walked every day
people tend to forget spare battery and travel power adapter
i would like a guard dog and a arlo camera, guard dog is a good deterrent and the camera keeps everything on record
A local SIM card and extra memory cards. I am always running out of space.
I would like to have both. A good dog and the the cameras for backup if the dog is away, and like you say, a good picture of the intruder to give to law authorities. Lots of boosters and prowlers around here.
I think spare batteries and power adapters are the things most needed and most forgotten.
Gotta go with the Arlo camera system. Our dog is so friendly anyone except the Amazon delivery guy is her friend.
Two essential things are travel power adapterand power bank
Both for extra protection. Thank you!
The Arlo Cameras because they are more convenient.
I would rather have both for the extra protection.
In my view, the least two essential things mentioned in the buying guide that most people tend to forget before going on a trip are packing a luggage scale and a power bank.
I would rather have an Arlo camera system as it provides crystal clear, uninterrupted coverage. It allows me to access footage anytime, from inside the house or outside, for example, at the grocery store.
the Arlo Cameras because they do not tie you down like an animal does
