If you’re like me and love the outdoors and love technology then the Sizzle lighter is perfect for you. I flipped when these first arrived at my desk to send for a review and to run a contest. The reviews are done and now you have a chance to win one of these amazing lighters. Learn why I love these and why you might too, then follow the instructions to enter for a chance to win one.
Sizzle lighters: make fire anytime without fuel or fuss
A Sizzle arc lighter is aptly named: press the button and it does just that … sizzles. That sizzle is a very hot plasma generated by electricity. You only need to charge it with the included USB cable and it will light your fire for weeks. But don’t touch that sizzling arc; it’s very hot. And it lights with the push of a button no matter where you are.
That’s what makes these lighters so coveted by outdoor enthusiasts. Get it wet—it works. Even in intense winds, it works. Take it on your multi-day hiking adventure and know you will be able to light a fire when you need to. No more striking matches one after another to no avail. No more flicking that bic lighter until your finger blisters. One simple push and you have fire.
Do you know which Sizzle is best for your needs
We sent a selection of these lighters to our trusted writers to get their honest opinion. Read their reviews to learn more about how they work, and about the different types of Sizzle lighters available. Some of them are very great for barbecues. I think the long extension lighter is perfect for burn barrels or burn piles like on a farm or large property. The survival sizzles with built in flashlight is perfect for camping and hiking.
We are giving away the complete range of these. Which one is your perfect fire starter?
How to enter
Entering this contest will be fun and you can enter in three different ways:
- In a comment below: tell us why you think a Sizzle plasma arc lighter is superior to the method you usually use for lighting a fire.
- In a comment below Andy’s review article, tell us which style of Sizzle is perfect for you (you can choose more than one!) and why.
- Social post: For two additional entries, create a public post on a social media channel sharing with your friends and followers that you are entering a Best Buy blog contest to win a plasma arc lighter. Let your friends know which lighter you are hoping to win and include the hashtag #SizzleBestBuyContest, so we can find your post, and include a picture from this contest page. Then return here and tell us in a comment below on which channel you posted it and the name of your channel (since many people use pseudonyms) so that we can check and verify your entry. You can use any social media channel (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Thread, LinkedIn, etc.), but the post must be public so we can verify it is there.
What you can win
At the end of the contest, we will randomly select seven winners from all eligible entries. Each winner will be randomly assigned to one of seven different Sizzle lighters as shown at the top of this contest article.
This contest runs from Aug 2nd to Aug 17th.
Remember you can enter up to four times as mentioned above. Fire is dangerous and must be used responsibly, especially outdoors. It’s also necessary in many situations, like when cooking outdoors, and it can be dangerous to be without it sometimes too. Sizzle plasma arc lighters may save the day. Or it may just be how your warm your home if, like me, you use only a wood stove for heat in the winter!

Good luck.
Time would tell, but i’m always dropping my lighter. Hopefully a solid state lighter will be better
I think the Extender Telescopic USB Rechargeable Plasma Arc Lighter would be great for lighting the bbq. Using matches or lighters is difficult, this would be so much more effective.
The sizzle plasma looks much safer as I’ve burned myself with matches or waste them when they don’t work fast enough.
Would be so much better with wet wood
I have a Zippo, so this would be a big step up.
I like that it will not be blown out by the wind
It will be great to use it when elecrecity is off
We’ve used all kinds of different methods to light fires while camping and they’re all terrible under certain circumstances – this one looks like it would ALWAYS work!
Sizzle plasma arc lighter is superior …No fuel, no fuss…usually we have a fuelmfilled lighter and it runs out
Sizzle plama lighter would be great for camping!
Would be so much better when damp out
Matches can be very hard to light and those lighters aren’t the best either. This sizzle lighter seems to be reliable which is what I want.
As this works in all weather conditions it seems superior for sure

I am forever struggling with my BBQ lighter to light the firepit fires. Having bad arthritis does not help when you have to push the button down and press the trigger. When I finally get it right the wind blows it out. It generally takes me 5 or 6 tries. A Sizzle Plasma sounds the the perfect solution to my problem and the added flashlight is brilliant.
The Sizzle plasma arc lighter is superior to my BIC lighters for lighting campfires when it is windy or raining.
The lighters are better and safer than propane to get fire going
It’s superior because it works in all weather conditions
better in rain and wind
Great for camping and on the beach !
This will be way better than skewers lit on the stove to fire up the BBQ!
I like it will work better in wind and rain!
this will work better in wind and rain!!!!
How great that you don’t have to worry about the weather conditions to use a sizzle!
I’ve never used sizzle lighter, but I’d love to try one.
The fact it works in all weather conditions
I like that you can get it wet and it still works- much better then other lighters!
The sizzle just makes life so much easier when you don’t have to worry about fuel.
Great to take camping and you would never have to worry about trying to light something in the wind.
This would be great to take with you when you are hiking as it will never go out if its windy.
Always use a bbq which doesn’t always work. The sizzle would be great to have.
I usually use an old BBQ lighter that sits outside, sadly rusting and rotting in the moist environment. So… Sizzle lighters would be an upgrade lol.
It’s superior because under any weather, it still works!
This would make camping so much easier, especially when it is windy or raining!

It works rain, wind or shine. Unlike regular lighters.
I usually use a propane lighter and these would be much safer

The lighter would be better than matches as the wind blows out matches way to fast.
The Sizzle plasma arc lighter is superior to my normal method of starting a fire because it’s much smaller and safer than a propane torch.
Considering I’ll usually use a match, or several matches, this definitely seems more reliable.
My bic dont work when its wet.

I just posted and shared on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/daniel.schneider.3154284?mibextid=ZbWKwL
Sizzle plasma arc lighter are superior to lighting a fire traditional ways like lighters and matches because they are electric so you don’t have to worry about constantly holding down a lighter until it lights and eventually burning your fingers or keep lighting matches until you have none left. They are also safer because they don’t use fuel and easy to take with you. They also offer a flash light on the device so you don’t have to hold an extra flash light, easy to charge and battery lasts long.
