This uses Wi-Fi 7, the latest Wi-Fi standard with a 6 GHz band. Getting the best Wi-Fi system in your home is a gift everyone in the family will enjoy. Let’s look at why you should consider upgrading to TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 for a faster, more connected future.

What is Wi-Fi 7?

Wi-Fi 7 is the 7th generation of the Wi-Fi standard. Compared to Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, it offers speeds up to four times faster. Additional improvements include reduced latency, more stability, and increased capacity. Going by the old naming convention, Wi-Fi 7 is IEEE 802.11be whereas Wi-Fi 6 is IEEE 802.11ax. Here are some of the big upgrades Wi-Fi 7 brings over Wi-Fi 6.

Wider channels for more data transmission

Wi-Fi 7 uses the 2.4 GHz band, the 5 GHz band, and the 6 GHz band. Each of these bands is broken into channels. The 2.5 GHz band has 11 channels, the 5 GHz band uses 45 channels and the 6 GHz band supports 60 channels. Wi-Fi 7 supports channels that are up to 320 MHz wide. The wider the channel, the more data it can transmit. Think of it like a highway with additional lanes. The more lanes, the more cars it can support. Data transmission with Wi-Fi 7 is much the same.

One of the most exciting advancements to Wi-Fi 7 is Multi-Link Operation (MLO). Before, every connection between two devices was on a single band. The router decided between the 2.4 GHz, 5-GHz, or 6-GHz band. Multi-Link Operation combines several frequencies across bands into a single connection. That means Wi-Fi 7 routers connect to Wi-Fi 7 devices across two or more channels in different bands. Best of all, this is happening simultaneously. With MLO, this enables wider channels capable of transmitting more data.

TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 Deco BE95

Deco BE95 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 7 system

The Deco BE95 is the fastest Quad-Band Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 7 system. It provides a combined speed of up to 33 Gbps across 16 streams. One of the 6 GHz bands can serve as a dedicated backhaul. The other can be used as an open network. With this setup, the backhaul sets up a truly stable and strong network. Additionally, it improves the overall Wi-Fi performance.

As a Mesh Wi-Fi system, the Deco BE95 is modular and backward compatible. You don’t need to have Wi-Fi 7 compatible devices to enjoy the benefits of increased speed and reliability. It comes in a 2-pack, but additional units can be added. Each unit houses eight omnidirectional antennas that radiate radio power in all directions. Additionally, there are four Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFIC). This delivers ultra-fast Wi-Fi speeds up to 33 Gbps.

Each of the satellite units supports multi-gigabit networking with two 10G WAN/LAN ports, two 2.5G WAN/LAN ports, and a USB 3.0 port. It supports both fiber and copper connections. The Deco BE95 converts fiber data from your ISP to Ethernet cable data using an SFP module. This happens at the 10 Gbps SFP+ fiber and Ethernet Combo port. In plain English, this builds long-range point-to-point connections.

Whole Home Multi-Gigabit Connectivity

With the Deco BE95, dead spots in the home become a thing of the past. With a 10 Gbps backhaul, every room where a Deco is located reaches speeds of 9-10 Gbps. Naturally, these speeds will decrease with distance. Walls, ceilings, and other obstructions will also decrease the speed. Nevertheless, with the strategic placement of each Deco, homeowners can blanket their homes with fast, reliable Wi-Fi.

Artificial intelligence is all the rage these days and it has extended into mesh technology. The Deco BE95 uses TP-Link’s AI-Driven Mesh Technology. The Deco automatically learns the network environment, client quality, and user behavior in your home. Through intelligent multifactored algorithms, Deco customizes a mesh Wi-Fi 7 solution that is unique to your home. AI-Roaming keeps a close watch on the signal strength of your devices. It self-learns the network conditions that are influencing your Wi-Fi performance. It will then seamlessly switch to another source when necessary to create optimal connections that effectively utilize your network bandwidth.

Every home is different so our Wi-Fi networks should be as well. It’s important to remember that how a mesh network is internally bridged will directly affect the Wi-Fi performance. With Wi-Fi 7 and AI-Driven Mesh, the Deco BE95 weighs factors that influence your Wi-Fi. These include how many Deco BE95 nodes you have, their placement in the home, and how they connect to each other. After analyzing all of these details, AI-Driven Mesh creates a custom mesh Wi-Fi 7 solution for you.
