Earth day is a great time to familiarize yourself with eco-friendly printers like the Epson ET-8500 printer. As we march towards a greener and cleaner future, we’re always on the lookout for the latest sustainable and eco-friendly technologies. Epson’s new line of supertank printers help you reduce waste and increase productivity—and produce amazing high-quality prints. Learn why this printer is better for the planet and for you, then enter to win one for your home.

Two reasons why Epson EcoTank printers are better for the environment

Over the past few years I have used much less paper and print a lot less at home too. One of the most important reasons is that my children graduated from school and moved out. No more school projects to print. While they were in school I bet we used an ink cartridge every month or two. Parents, you know what I am talking about! Recycling and composting are activities that many of us are doing a lot more than even a decade ago. Purchasing products from companies creating sustainable tech, like Epson, is another way to help the planet.

The EcoTank printers from Epson are just what parents need: you’ll save money and you’ll be helping the environment.

Save money: Ink cartridges are not cheap! With an Epson ET-8550 you’ll just refill the ink reservoirs in the printer when the ink levels are low. You won’t ever buy another ink cartridge! In fact, the ink bottles this printer comes with have so much ink that my family would have gone years without needing to buy more. Each ink bottle set is equivalent of 100 ink cartridges.

Help the environment: Fewer ink cartridges in your shopping cart means less ink cartridge plastic in the environment. It also means less plastic packaging for those ink cartridges, less energy being used on ink cartridge production, and less travel back and forth to transport those ink cartridges. You can see how big a deal these printers are.

Celebrate Earth Day by spreading the news about Epson Ecotank printers

Do you celebrate Earth Day? You can! You could host an Earth Day party: use an Epson eco-friendly printer to create the invitations. Okay perhaps not. Or you could petition the government to turn Earth Day into a stat holiday. That too may be a bit too extreme for most of us. Perhaps a simpler way to help the environment is to just tell friends and family about companies, like Epson, who are making an effort toward sustainability, creating technology that uses less plastic and consumes less energy. Even better when you save money at the same time as you do with an Epson printer!

Then tell your friends to read and follow these instructions and they might win one.

  1. I like to repurpose junk into useful things. I just converted a gardening table in to a BBQ grill and prep table.

  2. Even though it requires 3 different locations for different items, we take everything that can be recycled

  3. When a print job requires a few extra sheets or tag prints, we use that paper upside down in the next job. No sensitive information is released and paper usage is minimized.

  4. Two things I most like about the Epson ET-8550:
    1) just refill the ink reservoirs in the printer when the ink levels are low. NO buying another ink cartridge.
    2) The cartridge-free ink system that lets you print to your heart’s content while saving you a ton of money on ink cartridges – just refill.

  5. I have been actively taking part in our community recycling ♻️ program. I have also been repurposing empty cans, plastic containers, egg shells and newspaper for flower/ garden.

  6. We compost and recycle as well as buy what we can from whole foods stores to reduce of packaging waste

  7. I do many little things that help the environment, like using mesh bags for fruit and produce, and composting or recycling everything I can. None of this is innovative, but it’s my little contribution to help sustain the environment.

  8. We save all our green waste and dig it into our veggie patch, we also recycle everything we possibly can!

  9. i do a LOT of different things to help the environment, i could write you an essay, but you asked for ONE, so i tell you that i use all the leftovers, assorted greens, fruit peelings, coffee grounds and such and compost them to use with my yard soil to make it enrich it to grow vegetables for my family, instead of just dumping in the garbage bin !

  10. I always go through my junk mail. Those with blank backs become shopping lists and scrap paper to reuse before recycling.

  11. I & my family have Always bn respectful of our resources, our environment/home, my whole life; always recycle, reuse, resell, repurpose, very efficient & not wasteful; esp when it wasn’t a thing for many others/& organizations/companies to also do. And finally are & being able to relinquish many years of cumulative stacks of various plastics/paper/cardboards/cartons, food containers, collecting/& reselling plastics/metals & getting my money back, shredding & sorting paper, MANY BOXES of paper/catalogues, big/small home appliances and other…MASSIVE overflow and downsize to regular recycling program collection…& Always practical & commonsense, buying/using nonplastic/cloth bags/boxes, hang dry, efficient daily food mgmt & use/limit food waste, saving energy (electric/water)…is esp Very Freeing to get back living space in my family’s home with all that I could not possibly reuse/repurpose/recycle or resell. (I don’t believe in giving away anything old, or used to anyone, anything less than brand New, giving anything ‘Less than’ is “NOT Giving” and is Shameful, and do Not do).

  12. I like to buy at the bulk store to reduce packaging waste. Plus once the product is used, I use the bags as doggy poop bags!

  13. I always recycle/repurpose most items that can be disassembled and their parts or components re-used for repairs or art projects, etc.

  14. I recycle as much as possible and repurpose as much as possible, when I can. I also try my best to teach our kids to do the same.
