One of the most personal technologies has to be the ereader, like those offered by Kobo. I realize that some of them can surf the web and view multimedia, but for me, they are made for reading books. They are perfectly designed for that one simple task. They are lightweight, with a display that is easy on the eyes in daylight, or at night, and they easily fit in one hand. Load one with all your favourite books and it quickly holds a special place in your heart. Enter this contest and you might just win the newest ereader from Kobo, the Kobo Clara HD.

Why do I love Kobo eReaders so much

Let me tell you a little story, a true story. Once upon a time I had a Kobo ereader, a gift from my children, and I used it all the time. I read a huge assortment of novels on my cherished Kobo: mysteries, historical fiction, classics, trashy pop fiction, non-fiction and more. My brain was filled with great characters and great stories. I took my Kobo everywhere: on cruises in the Caribbean, on flights to Europe, and even back and forth in my car daily so that at any moment I could take a few minutes’ break, just me and my Kobo.

Then tragedy struck: one evening while rushing to take groceries into the house to make dinner, I forgot my Kobo in the car. Wouldn’t you know it, a thief broke into my car and stole it. I was shattered! End of story. However, I still feel the loss. You never know how much you love something until it’s gone.

  1. That they don’t update themselves like my tablet does until it is too old to function any more. I can read forever on a Kobo until I decide I need a new one.

  2. I love that you can take as many books on vacation with you as you like for just a few ounces!

My kobo bit the dust a while back and I miss it dearly!

  3. I’ve never owned an Ereader, but this one looks top notch! Lightweight and easy to read….. I’m sold!

  4. I like that it is light and is easy to take with me anywhere, I love reading on long road trips

  5. I don’t have one but I would love one. My mom and sister have them and it makes reading on the go so easy. I am an avid reader from fun light reads from Sophia Kinsella to murder and suspenseful GIrl on A train to much more serious topics like Heavier than Heaven. I commute for my placement right now and this would give me something to do while on the bus ride.

  6. having tech issues posting… Currently do not have one but would love one. They are lightweight and would make reading some of the out of print books from our local library as well as to be able to read various others as well

  7. I love my kobo because I can take it anywhere and it is so light. I also like that I can read in bed without the light on to disturb the hubby.

  8. I dont have an eReader but really want a KOBO!! I love how many books you can bring with you anywhere!!!!

  9. I love being able to check out books from my library, but I also love how small and convenient Kobos are and how I can still see what I’m reading while sitting out in the sun!

  10. I like the convenience of having lots of books with me and that this Kobo is lightweight and is easy to hold in one hand.

  11. I love the screen on the Kobo ereaders…there’s no glare & the e-ink is so much easier on my eyes! Perfect to read at the beach or by the pool when the sun is out!

  12. We recently went on a trip to China and we didn’t take books because we just assumed they’d be easy to pick up when/if needed. In the midst of our trip we were dumped at a train station for 3 hours – to get on a 6 hour train ride. We did everything we could to download books, or even games, and couldn’t get enough juice on our phone (although it cost us a fortune on our plan) and no wifi. There wasn’t an english book in the entire building. My wife then said that she won’t take another trip without an ereader. I’d love to win one for her.

  13. Never owned a KOBO, so I don’t know what to say about them. If I win one, I can let people know how they are, or what I really like about them.

  14. Our bookshelves are now FULL, and I am loathe to give up any paper books we have because the collection is very nicely curated. eBooks and eReaders give us a way out of this conundrum 🙂

  15. I love that I can read different books at the same time within one device. It’s really convenient.

  16. Very compact and BIGLY readable in-the-dark! Fantastic! So much different than UNGRATEFUL Apple products!

  17. I love how lightweight and easy they are to use, especially when traveling on the bus, it makes reading a lot easier on the way to school or way home.

  18. It’s the ease of flying with 100 books that I love – no weight to them at all and with the constrictions these days that is so important when flying.
