Traditionally, the Consumer Electronics Show isn’t an event with a lot of gaming news. However, CES 2022 surprised us with several big announcements that gamers will surely be delighted about. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest video game news from CES 2022.
PlayStation VR2 and PS VR2 Sense Controller revealed
During Sony‘s CES 2022 press conference the official name and specifications for their next generation VR unit for PlayStation 5 were revealed. The PlayStation VR2 is set to take the VR world by storm and to the next level. Sony’s next-generation VR unit adds a true next-gen experience with high-fidelity 4K visuals, new sensory features, and enhanced tracking – along with a simplified single-cord setup. Additionally, the PlayStation VR2 will enable a greater sense of presence and players will feel a heightened range of sensations unlike any other.
ASUS ROG delivers a new line up of gaming gear
ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced the latest gaming devices and gear at their The Rise of Gamers virtual launch event. This extensive lineup of gaming products announced included ROG Zephyrus and ROG Strix gaming laptops; ROG Fusion II gaming headsets; videogaming keyboards; gaming mice; gaming monitors and a gaming router.
For gaming-grade visuals, ROG continues to lead the pack with the world’s first ever 360 Hz display with 1440p resolution. In addition, understanding all the advantages of OLED displays, ROG developed the world’s first 42-inch and 48-inch OLED gaming monitors with Micro-texture coating.
NVIDIA announces new desktop PC and mobile gaming graphics cards
NVIDIA announced two all-new Geforce RTX 30 series graphics cards—GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3090 Ti. Both video cards are very impressive and are sure to put smiles on PC gamer’s faces. While both cards sport some very impressive specs, the GeForce RTX 3050 is the more affordable option of the two. On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti will feature 24GB of DDR6X RAM and 40 teraflops of GPU performance. The card offers roughly 10% more power over the 3090.
Gaming laptops are popular and NVIDIA announced GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPUs. These mobile GPUs pack a punch and drive a 1440p display at 100fps and above.
Samsung Gaming Hub
Samsung unveiled details for the Samsung Gaming Hub at CES 2022. The Samsung Gaming Hub is a new game streaming discovery platform that allows you to play cloud game streaming services such as Google Stadia, NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Utomik in once central location.
