One wheel fun for everyone on the Sologear Self-Balancing Electric Unicycle

0
If you happened to be out in Fort Langley this weekend and you were part of the crowds surrounding my son as he wheeled around on the Sologear Self-Balancing Electric Unicycle, you already know how cool it is. I stopped counting after 10 people asked us what it was and where we picked it up, and everywhere he rolled that day, people were drawn to it.

Scan on the fly with the Doxie Go

After trying out the Neat Receipts Scanner and writing a review on it last year, I did some research on portable scanners. That’s when I stumbled upon the Doxie Go and decided to take it for a test spin. If you’re interested in taking charge of your paper mountain and you’ve been wondering about portable scanners, here’s a quick run down of the Doxie Go.

Traxxas batteries 101: keep your toys powered and ready for fun

The world of RC vehicles is a very fun place to be.  Powerful scale model versions of your favorite real world racers, fully equipped to handle serious terrain, they’re a lot of fun. That is, they’re a lot of fun when they’re full of power and ready to go, without the fully charged powercells, well, they’re just an exceptionally well designed, aggressive looking model car. Taking the confusion out of keeping your Traxxas vehicles full of juice and ready to go is the new Traxxas iD system. Streamlined and full proof, with their new power cells (batteries) and EZ-Peak Plus Charger, they’ve taken the challenge out of charging.

Review: Sony SRS-X9 Wireless Speaker – Elegance with Great Sound

0
The wireless speaker market has taken off in the last few years, with more new wireless speakers all the time in every price range. Not to be outdone, Sony launched their SRS line of wireless speakers within the last year. At the top of this line is their SRS-X9 premium speaker. I was able to test one out and was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. It is much more attractive than most wireless speakers I’ve seen, has plenty of power, and is full of excellent features. A nice combination!

Review: New Dell U3415W Curved IPS LED Monitor

Being a laptop user for years, I haven’t had much need for a monitor or so I thought until I recently tried out the LG 34UC97. It made me realize how much utility that a laptop user can get out of a monitor, especially an extra wide screen that allows you use the display in many ways. I also recently tested out the new Dell U3415W Monitor, and discovered how it makes the computing experience much better, while providing a lot of flexibility. Here’s why I really liked it.

Review: NEW LG 34UC97 Monitor – Big and Beautiful!

0
As a dedicated laptop user I am not used to using a separate monitor, but I got a chance to test out LG’s new 34” LCD monitor. This wide-body monitor was so impressive I felt like I have been missing something for years. So much so, it made me definitely want to add this display to my laptop, which already has a very decent built-in retina display. The LG made my laptop dance in a way it never danced before, while making its small display feel very amateurish.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 review: the phablet to beat

0
2014 was an exciting year for smartphones. Among other things, it was the year of the phablet, with even long-time big screen holdout Apple getting into the game with the new iPhone 6 Plus. I’ve had the opportunity to use the big iPhone (I opted for the more modestly sized iPhone 6 myself), but what I want to talk about today is the latest version of the smartphone that started the whole phablet thing: the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The newest Galaxy Note was a late arrival, hitting Canadian shelves at the end of October, but after spending a few weeks with the device early this year I can definitively say two things: worth the wait and still the phablet to beat in 2015.

Fender DG-60 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Review

The Fender DG-60 dreadnought acoustic guitar will soon be available at Best Buy. I’ll come out and say it—this is a great guitar for the price. If asked to recommend something for a beginner or as a small-gig instrument, I’d put the DG-60 on the list for sure.  It has a nice look and feel coupled with great playability and a brighter tone that fills the room.
