cordless vacuum main

Vacuums have sure come a long way over the years. Having a cordless vacuum would be very convenient and make life a little easier. Vacuuming with a cordless means you no longer have to get caught up in the cord or move the plug to a closer outlet when the cord gets stretched too tight. A cordless vacuum has more portability without the worry of there not being an outlet near by.

cordless stairsThe process of vacuuming stairs can be quite the chore. Plugging in the vacuum at the bottom of the stairs and working your way up to the landing in between the two sets, or all the way up if that’s the style of your stairs is tedious work. You most likely have to stop and unplug halfway up or down and find a closer outlet to get the job done and this is a waste of time. It can be frustrating, and if anyone in the house wants to come up or down the stairs while you’re vacuuming, they risk being tripped up too.

Having a cordless vacuum, especially a cordless stick vacuum,  just for stairs alone would be amazing and it would make vacuuming them a breeze.

Corners and edges

cordless cornersVacuuming along the edges of the carpet and in the corners means a lot of manoeuvering around furniture pieces and the vacuum cord is only so long, so it usually involves a lot of unplugging and plugging in new sockets. I often end up stretching the cord to try and reach that little bit further and then the cord ends up unplugging itself. With a cordless vacuum there is no limit to the distance you can reach and it’s quite easy to detach and attach any vacuum tools you might require as you go.

Most cordless vacuums are stick style which means you can detach the wand if you want and it gives you a handheld style vacuum. The vacuum becomes extremely lightweight and makes it easy to get into hard to reach places.

Cleaning the car

cordless carA cordless vacuum would make vacuuming out your car a lot easier and less stressful. You don’t have to worry about how far you’re parked from an outlet, or if the vacuum cord will reach from the outlet to your vehicle. You can basically climb right in your vehicle with the vacuum and if your cordless vacuum can turn into a handheld vacuum that’s even better.

There’s not stretching the cord or having to turn your car around to be able to vacuum the opposite side. A cordless vacuum is about as portable as you can get, and the battery life will give you enough time to get into all the nooks and crannies of your car.

Cordless vacuums are not what they used to be. I think one of the reasons they have gotten better over the years is the changes in batteries, how quickly they can charge and how well they can suction. It used to be that if you wanted the convenience of a cordless you had to be willing to give up a little on suction power, but now you can have both.

  1. I am in a wheel chair with only one arm that works properly .I have found my V10 very easy to use and well worth having.

  2. I agree that it is really fresh and convenient way to vacuum cord-free. But really i have a huge 5-room partner and this is a disaster to vacuum, it recharging my vacuum two times during my cleaning. I do cleaning by portions (dusting, vacuum, mopping) and only this way its comfy enough to use. Its like buying iPhone that can hold only a few hours of an active work and buy a power-bank in addition to keep it alive the whole day.

  3. I got myself a Dysan stick vacuum a few years ago and love the cordless convenience.

    • It’s so quick and convenient compared to my ShopVac
    • I think the Dysan stores more dust than those Roomba’s.  Still I would like to see a larger dust chamber.  Sad the battery will last longer than the dust bin filling up.  Err… perhaps I have just too much dust in my home.
    • discharging the dust bin can sometimes take time as dust is stuck in the chamber.

It got me thinking about a cordless leaf blower for outside clean ups.  Looking to a cordless mower for the summer.
