Hisense has been pushing the envelope on the AV side of things, but the brand really first became known for its appliances. The innovation on the appliances side of the tech space continues this year at CES 2024, where Hisense is showcasing a number of products, including both ones that will be released this year along with future concepts. For more on buying new appliances, take a look at the appliance buying guide. Here’s a quick look at Hisense appliances at CES 2024.

Hisense Smart Built-in Dishwasher has Autodose and Autodry

Most notable for this year is Hisense’s new Smart Built-in Dishwasher has Autodose and Autodry technology. It can automatically dispense the precise amount of liquid detergent for up to a month before it needs to be refilled. To quickly and effortlessly dry your clean dishes once a cycle is done, the door automatically opens to expel the steam.

Finished in stainless steel, the dishwasher can accommodate up to 15 place settings and runs at a quiet 40dBA thanks to Hisense’s inverter technology. One of the stand-out features is the inclusion of UV inside for a further deep clean and sanitization of your dishes.

Future Concepts With Hisense AI

What really “wowed” us at CES 2024 when it comes to appliances from Hisense, however, is its future concepts demonstration called Connect Life. The demonstration shows how multiple Hisense products can work together, driven by the company’s VIDAA smart TV operating system. It all comes back to the kitchen, but it ties the cooking experience in with your living room TV experience.

First, at the simplest level, you can access appliances in your home from the VIDAA smart TV interface so you can see what’s running at any given time. But then you can also gain inspiration from cooking shows you love then work with the recipe to port it over to the kitchen and start cooking. Call up the recipe, add it to your favourites, then follow along on another screen, like a portable Android-powered TV you keep on your kitchen countertop. You could even send a command from that TV to a Hisense smart oven so it automatically begins to preheat in anticipation of your delectable creation. And yes, you can monitor the progress of the cook on that same portable Android-based TV (as well as your full-size TV).

The mind-blowing feature, however, is the customization with AI. You can adjust the recipe intelligently based on a number of factors, like what you have in your fridge, dietary restrictions, or allergies. AI will present viable substitutions so you can still cook a delicious recipe, modifying it to your tastes and dietary requirements. You could even go on a “flavour” journey to get ideas on how to change up a recipe to fit another type of cuisine: maybe you want a pasta dish with a Mexican spin, for example.

Once you add a recipe, you can then go to a compatible Hisense smart fridge, for example, and check what ingredients you have or need, add them to a shopping list, even potentially order them right then and there so you’re ready for when you want to make the recipe. (And yes, once the order has been delivered, a notification will pop up on your TV to let you know). You would also be able to receive notifications on the TV screen with status updates, like that your meal has finished cooking in the oven.

This is still a prototype concept so it isn’t something we expect to see in 2024.

With the power of AI and Hisense’s leadership in the appliances space along with displays, this could represent what the kitchen of the future looks like. You can find Hisense right now at Best Buy.
