Moto_360_(2nd gen)_Womens_Hero.jpgMotorola just unveiled the latest generation of Moto 360 devices at IFA in Berlin, and the whole family of new and improved fashion and health focused Android Wear devices are coming to Best Buy this fall.

The new Moto 360 still carries the trademark round design and display, but now we have two sizes (46mm and 42mm) as well as smartwatch models specifically designed for ladies and also for men.

A sport edition of the Moto 360 was also unveiled, that one has a standalone GPS, and is designed to be more rugged. It is expected to launch later this year.

Adding GPS makes it a great standalone health tracker for users who don’t want to have to carry their phones on their runs.

Moto 360’s new models have expanded functionality, as well as style. There’s a new AnyLight Display which ensures you can always see the time without wasting precious battery life.There’s a range of polished bezels in new styles, easily removable lugs for quick-release bracelet replacement.

This new system allows for easy, tool-free replacement of bands from Motorola as well as a variety of ‘Made for Moto 360’ partners who can create bands in a variety of materials such a rubber, leather, stainless steel and even precious metals like silver and gold. 

New this year are Live dials, which give you information at a glance or shortcuts to the apps you use most. You can customize the smaller dials on your watch face to display the battery level, current weather, latest fitness stats and much more. Simply tap a Live Dial to instantly get more info like a 4 day weather forecast or to open Moto Body. In addition,
Motorola is enabling developers to create Live dials for their Android wear apps.
 
At launch, you can choose live dials from exisiting partner like Shazam, which can instantly identify songs and lyrics, 
Kevo – easily unlock your front door without a key.
IFTTT  allows users to  set up quick commands to simplify their most common tasks and Ford enables users to launch the myFord mobile app to control a Ford electric vehicle.

Motorola realizes that smartwatches are not a ‘one size, one style fits all,’ affair and has made significant moves to ensure there’s something for everyone.

The ladies’ models will have a variety of fashion straps in luxury leather and other materials while the men’s line will be made available with select Horween Leather or in stainless steel bands.

Also unique to the Moto 360 are interactive watch faces which have shortcuts to apps and complications which expand the amount of information a user can choose to see.

With the new Moto 360 Sport, which is designed for active users who can now leave their smartphone at home during a daily run.

 

Built-in GPS accurately tracks your speed, distance, and pace, while a heart sensor tracks other important vitals. You can even store and play music right from your wrist as the Moto 360 has 4GB of storage for carrying music that can be transferred via a paired phone.

 

The new Moto 360 works with Android devices and now, thanks to a new Android Wear app on iOS, it will also work on selected iPhone models.

The Sport models have a silicone construction with special UV coating wicks away moisture and resists fading or staining.

 

The new Moto 360 and Moto 360 Sport have longer battery life than the first generation Moto 360, and now offers two full days of use.

Watch for the new Moto 360 which will be available in Canada Best Buy this fall.
