By my count there are nearly fifty video games releasing this month—including many of the biggest games of the year like Halo 5, Rock Band 4, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, and Yoshi’s Woolly World. There is so much gaming excitement this month it’s hard to know where to start!

As hard as it was, I took this monumental list of new games and chose the top 8 I’m looking forward to this month. I had to make some tough decisions, let me know what you think!

Rock Band 4

Release Date: October 6, 2015

Gather the band and get set for another epic tour with the return of Rock Band! Featuring lead and bass guitar, vocals, and drums, Rock Band 4 marks a return to the game’s core gameplay. Over 60 licensed tracks from popular artists across the decades are included, such as: The Cure “Friday I’m in Love”, Spin Doctors “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong”, Disturbed “Prayer”, and Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk.” Not only will your old instruments work with Rock Band 4 (provided they’re from the same platform family), but you can also re-download previously purchased downloadable songs and import them into the game. It’s time to rock all over again!

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

Uncharted, one of the greatest PlayStation 3 franchises of all time, makes the jump to PlayStation 4 with glorious 1080p HD graphics and silky smooth 60 frames-per-second action. The Nathan Drake Collection offers unbeatable value, giving you three games in one: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Relive the adventures of the world’s greatest treasure hunter, Nathan Drake, as he explores exotic locations like El Dorado, Shangri-La, and the Arabian “Atlantis of the Sands.” Also, bundled with the Nathan Drake Collection is first access to the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer beta, letting you try out next year’s hottest game before anyone else!

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below

What do you get when you cross the development team of the popular Dynasty Warriors series with the renowned Square Enix role-playing franchise Dragon Quest? Why, it’s Dragon Quest Heroes! This epic scale, hack and slash action RPG is coming to PlayStation 4 after releasing this past February in Japan. Enter the kingdom of Arba as either the hero Luceus or the heroine Aurora, along with an all-star cast of fan favourite characters like Yangus, Jessica, Bianca, or even Healix the healslime!

Yoshi’s Woolly World

Release Date: October 16, 2015

Platform: Wii U, Wii U Bundle with Yoshi amiibo

ESRB Rating: E ​​(Everyone)

From the developers of Kirby’s Epic Yarn comes another fabric-inspired adventure with Yoshi’s Woolly World. Jump into an adorable world constructed with knitted yarn, including the backgrounds, items, and even Yoshi himself! The game features two-player co-operative action, so grab and friend or family member and have a blast gobbling up enemies and solving puzzles together. Yoshi’s Woolly World is also compatible with amiibo figures, including the cute new knitted Yarn Yoshi amiibo (which activates a “Double Yoshi”), as well as Mario, Peach, and Donkey Kong (which changes Yoshi’s costume).

Guitar Hero Live

It’s been five years since the last Guitar Hero game, but now the king of gaming rock and roll has been reborn! Featuring an all-new 6-button guitar controller, arranged in two rows of three buttons, Guitar Hero Live will be more accessible for newcomers, and offer a greater challenge for veteran guitarists. Activision says that there will be “hundreds of songs available on day one,” including hits from artists like Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, along with hundreds more available through the new, free Guitar Hero TV (GHTV) service.

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate

Enter London, near the end of the industrial revolution, in Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. You’ll step into the boots of twins Jacob and Evie Frye, leaders of the notorious street gang The Rooks. Each character possesses unique weapons like Jacob’s brass knuckles and poison dart, or Evie’s cane-sword and throwing knives. You’ll also be able to travel through faster than ever with the use of the all-new rope launcher, or even hijack a horse-drawn carriage to race through the streets of London!

Halo 5: Guardians

Halo 5: Guardians has arrived! Arguably the most-anticipated game of the entire year, Halo 5 is set to define a new generation of first-person shooters on next-gen hardware. From new Spartan abilities, to the new 24-player Warzone mode, to the longest Halo campaign ever, Halo 5 promises to be absolutely epic.

WWE 2K16

Release Date: October 27, 2015

Platform: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360

ESRB Rating: T (Teen)

WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin graces the cover of WWE 2K16, and he’ll be joined by over 120 wrestler in this year’s edition. The huge roster includes long-time favourites such as John Cena, Triple H, Daniel Bryans, and Randy Orton, along with the debut of many NXT stars like Hideo Itami, Tyler Breeze, and Aiden English. Classic match types such as Hell in a Cell, Triple Threat, and Fatal Four-Way are included, along with the return of Ladder, handicap and tornado tag matches. Time to see who is king of the mat!
