KingdomHearts_HD_2.5_ReMIX_NA_Boxart.jpgWhat must be the most, or at least one of the most cosplayed game franchises in the history of nerds dressing up like their favorite characters, Kingdom Hearts is responsible for not only being the only thing to make Mickey Mouse cool since Castle of Illusion, but also a whole lot of wrapping paper tubes being turned into Keyswords (Keyblades, technically). A perfect blend of Square Enix and Disney, it’s been a very successful partnership (something like 20 million copies across all its titles).   Join angsty anime teenagers and the big Disney names as they world hop with swords that are also a keys

That’s a whole lot of Keyswords

A sequel to Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD, it’s the same idea. Gathering a trio of previously released games with a graphical uprez,  new features, cut scenes and content, for a triple whammy of Kingdom Hearts for the PS3. Though the cynical can always call this a cash grab, for the true fans it’s a great excuse to dive back into worlds they love and have it be new again. For the uninitiated and curious (I mean, there are a lot of Kingdom Hearts cosplay photos, that’s how I found out about it) these packages are a great way to jump in. Regardless, at three games for the price of one, it is an enormous amount of game for the price, and it makes entering a colorful fantasy realm very accessible, and I’m all about getting fun to the masses.

What’s in the Box?

Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix: Voted by many fans as their favorite Kingdom Hearts title, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, before the remastered Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix collection, has been unavailable outside of Japan (I feel you fanboys and girls, I too have felt the burn of “Japan only’ releases.). Receiving the HD remaster for the bigger hardware, the games audio has been .

Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix – Originally a PSP titles, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix is a prequel to the original Kingdom Hearts title. Well received by fans and critics alike, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix is a great way to get otherwise inaccessible, be it outdated hardware, or geographical issues, Kingdom Hearts games under one roof. A new, High Definition roof. As well as new content (including unique boss fights) and remastered score (a series highlight) and the visual uprez, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix is a combination of two of the arguably best games in the franchise. Whether you’re an old hardcore who wants the content previously exclusive to Japan, a replay of your favorite games, or are completely new to Kingdom Hearts franchise, this blend of action RPG with a Disney twist (or maybe you just love the Keyswords) has landed on the PS3.

A firm believer in "you have to get old, but you don't have to grow up," I've been an unabashed lover of nerdy things for a good long while and don't plan to stop anytime soon. With experience on both sides of the video game, both as a consumer and a producer, and a love of the written word, I've managed to combine all three right here with the Plug-in blog
