Visiting Warner Bros. at E3
As a huge fan of Lord of the Rings and the LEGO Videogame series, I was excited to swing by Warner Bros. booth at E3. Playable on the show floor was Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. Let’s take a look!
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War
The next entry in Warner Bros. Interactive’s Middle-earth series will be much bigger than its predecessor. In the demo I played as Talion, a Gondor warrior possessed by the spirit of the Celebrimbor wraith. This unique duality gives him combat skills along with supernatural abilities. Like in the previous game, Talion can enter the mind of enemies to extract information helpful on his quest.
In the quest I played, my goal was to search the woods for Orcs trapped by an earth spirit, to gain clues of the spirits whereabouts. In brutal fashion, after interrogating the Orcs, Talion crushed their heads with his bare hands (talk about power!) Once I finally came to my destination I had to defeat a two-part boss that spewed molten hot blue flames. At first, the boss fought me on the ground, then later it morphed into a winged creature that I need to take down with arrows. It was pretty epic!
In all, I spent 30Â minutes playing Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and loved every minute of it. The game is releasing this October, so very soon!
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2
A huge portion of Warner’s E3 booth was dedicated to their LEGO line-up, including LEGO Dimensions, LEGO Worlds, and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. I had roughly 10 minutes with the Marvel game, which introduces us to LEGO versions of The Guardians of the Galaxy. Using Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot, I had to defeat a giant robot before time ran out.
Continuing with LEGO’s tradition, you need to destroy objects to construct new objects using LEGO bricks. The demo was really short, so I didn’t have a chance to see any new gameplay mechanics, but hey it has the Guardians and that’s awesome!
Stay tuned for non-stop E3 news!
