Let the festivities begin! If you can believe, it has been 35 years since the launch of Super Mario Bros. in Japan and Nintendo is celebrating the iconic duo in style. Come check out all the games and products that will be available from September 2020 until March 2021 to celebrate this momentous event on Nintendo Switch!
Super Mario 3D All-Stars
The rumours can finally be put to rest, Super Mario 3D All-Stars is coming to Nintendo Switch September 18, 2020. Included in this 3 game compilation are optimized versions of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy.
Quite arguably some of the best 3D Mario games, all 3 games have higher resolutions than their original versions and have been optimized for a smooth gameplay experience on Nintendo Switch. In addition to these games, Super Mario 3D All-Stars includes an in-game music-player mode that allows you to play and listen to your favourite music and song from all 3 games.
Moreover, Super Mario 3D All-Stars has a mode that allows you to listen to the music on your Switch when the screen is off. How cool is that?! Super Mario 3D All-Stars won’t be around forever. The game launches on Sept. 18, 2020 and will be available until March 31, 2021.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit
Quite possibly one of the most unique announcements by Nintendo since Labo is Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. This unique set brings the fun of the Mario Kart series into the real world. It does this by using your Switch screen and controls to race against opponents using an actual mini Kart.
Furthermore, the Kart responds to boosts in-game and in the real world. It stops when you are hit with an item and can be affected in different ways depending on the race. The package comes with gates that allow you to create a custom course layout in your home.
Race against Koopalings in Grand Prix, unlock a variety of course customizations and costumes for Mario or Luigi, and play with up to four players in local multiplayer mode. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is available in a Mario Set or Luigi Set and launches on Oct. 16, 2020 for $129.99.
Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.
Long before the Nintendo Gameboy, Nintendo had Game & Watch systems. First released in 1980, these devices included a game and could be used as a watch to tell time. Now, years later, Nintendo is bringing Game & Watch back to help celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros with Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.
In addition to playing classic games Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Game & Watch includes a special version of Ball with a Mario makeover.
Furthermore, Game & Watch functions as a clock, with 35 little touches to discover, including some guest appearances from Mario’s friends and foes. Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. launches November 13, 2020 for $69.99.
There’s even more games and fun to help celebrateÂ
The fun doesn’t stop! Nintendo has even more games such as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury to help celebrate the 35th anniversary. The game brings the classic Wii U Super Mario 3D World to the Nintendo Switch with co-op gameplay, both online and local multiplayer. In addition it includes all new content called Bowser’s Fury. We don’t know much about the additional content just yet. More information will be released later as it launches February 12, 2021.

For Super Mario Bros. fans that want to take their love to the next level, you can do so with a pair of specially branded basketball shoes. The PUMA RS-Dreamer Super Mario 64 basketball shoes were designed from a collaboration between PUMA and Nintendo. These legendary must-have shoes will be available in Canada in early October.
Nintendo Switch Online members can help celebrate with 2 new games, Super Mario Bros. 35 and Super Mario All-Stars. Super Mario Bros. 35 is a competitive online battle game where 35 players compete to be the last Mario standing. Enemies defeated are sent to other players’ courses, but that also works the other way around! Super Mario Bros. 35 launches on Oct. 1 as a digital-only game exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members and is playable until March 31, 2021.
Finally, Super Mario All-Stars is a classic Super NES game that includes 16-bit upgraded versions of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3. Super Mario All-Stars is a Nintendo Switch Online exclusive and is available now.

Where is the game and watch place holder?!?!?! Nothing for Canada?????
Where is the pre-order for the Game & Watch Mario for Canada? I can’t find any info anywhere. United States Best Buy have a place holder already. In Canada we got nothing. Just like the Nintendo Classic Mini Console few years ago? All the hype? Watch those thing cost $1000 on eBay.
Already pre-ordered Super Mario 3D All-Stars from Best Buy! Those Puma shoes are also amazing. Will Best Buy be carrying those too???
I can’t believe me and Mario are the same age lol! I am really looking forward to this game. How about those shoes? I want a pair so bad. Thanks for the great write up Jon it’s always so clean and easy to follow.
Get the shoes and show us!
Happy 35th to Mr. Mario 😀 I am waiting to get my hands on it. Just wanted to see when it would be available for pre-order ? Also, them shoes, look fly. You mean i can wear them and play basketball ? lol. Reserve one for me !! Awesome info. Thanks again Jon.
Hello! The $69 question…can you say when the Game and Watch will be available for pre-order? I know I’m a damn fool for trying, but I’d like to see if I can actually snag one before the Ebay scalpers bot-snipe the whole lot. Thanks! Solid write-up, by the way.
Super Mario Bros 35 is going to be so much fun! I can’t wait to try it out! Perhaps I will be able to challenge against you, Jon!
I’m also really excited to play the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. I haven’t played Sunshine in years and really want to get at it again! Also, Galaxy is my favourite 3D Mario game!
I also really want that Game & Watch Super Mario Bros. It looks amazing!
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit looks fun too, but it is probably more for people who have others they can play with regularly and in person. I don’t think this is the Mario Kart 9 that people have been hoping for.
It won’t be long before the Wii U has no games left that haven’t been ported to the Switch. While I thought Super Mario 3D World would have been ported over before now, the addition of this new Bowser’s Fury really has me intrigued and I want to see more of it! I will surely end up buying this game again as well.
Happy 35th Birthday, Mario!
Thanks for the write-up Jon!
