Samsung announces new TVs and technology for CES 2025

Each year, TVs get bigger, brighter, thinner, and smarter. And this year is no exception as brands like Samsung are focusing on all four of these areas, with a particular emphasis AI integration. At CES 2025, Samsung announces AI enhancements in its displays via new Vision AI features, along with a collaboration with Microsoft Copilot. Plus, it has also introduced the new Neo QLED 8K and The Frame Pro. Read on for more on the latest from Samsung during this year’s CES.

What is Samsung Vision AI?

Samsung Vision AI includes a set of features to provide improved picture and audio quality. It also offers second-screen information (on the same screen!), multi-language closed captioning, and more. All of these are designed to enhance your entertainment, make interactions seamless, and support your connected lifestyle. Vision AI is going to be available in Samsung’s flagship TVs, like the Neo QLED 8K or 4K, OLED, and The Frame (as well as the new The Frame Pro).

Here are the key features to check out. You may find that one or two are more meaningful to you than others. But there are ones that every type of user will find useful.

1. Copilot on Samsung TVs

You can now enjoy Copilot on select 2025 Samsung smart TVs, thanks to a newly minted partnership with Microsoft. With this feature, you’ll be able to tap into Copilot on your big screen just as you might on your laptop, tablet, or phone. You can ask it for personalized content recommendations, get details about your calendar, receive help with trip planning, and more. Samsung says it plans to work closely with other AI partners as well, including Google, to further explore how Samsung Vision AI can continue to evolve.

Click to search provides instant information about what’s on screen. For example, you can explore more information about an actor, what else they have appeared in, and even their Wikipedia page. This pops up in a separate window on the side of the screen, so it doesn’t disrupt the viewing experience.

3. Live translate

Enjoy watching content on your Samsung TV with live translate translate feature.

You can leverage an on-device AI translation feature to get closed captioning in the language of your choice. This live translation feature effectively brings an experience you already get on Samsung phones to the TV. Seven languages are supported initially, providing real-time subtitles on live broadcasts.

4. Improved smart home integration

You can receive real-time, mobile alerts about your household environment, like safety notifications and daily updates. This is especially useful while you’re traveling, so you can keep an eye on your home remotely. You can also use the TV’s cameras and speakers to monitor pets while you’re at the office. Get notifications of unusual behaviour, like a fall or break-in. You can also set scenes to occur when a situation is recognized, like turning off the lights when the TV detects that you are no longer in the room or have fallen asleep.

5. Picture and sound quality improvements

AI also help enhance your visual and audible experience. Images will look sharper and sound clearer thanks to AI adjustments that happen in the background.

6. Generative wallpaper

New Samsung TVs Generative Wallpaper lets you customize the way it looks.

Personalize the look of your TV’s background using dynamic, customized art canvases, generated from your specific commands. You can tailor images to suit a specific mood, your taste, or even an occasion.

New Samsung TVs this 2025

Of course, it wouldn’t be CES if Samsung didn’t have exciting new TVs coming down the pipe. Here’s a highlight of some of the most interesting innovations that you might want to consider as you upgrade your living room entertainment experience.

Neo QLED 8K: Samsung’s most advanced TV to date with AI

The new Samsung Neo QLED 8K features 8K AI upscaling and Auto HDR Remastering Pro to enhance picture quality.

Looking to get the best of the best and future-proof your purchase for 8K content? The Neo QLED 8K QN990F is a gorgeous TV you may want to check out. Powered by the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, it has plenty of AI goodies. Its 8K AI upscaling feature enhances 4K or HD content. Auto HDR Remastering Pro analyzes content, frame by frame, to help expand and enhance colours, even with darker scenes. Color Booster Pro, meanwhile, leverages AI to analyze specific scenes and further enrich colours.

Adaptive Sound Pro uses AI to separate speech from music and sound effects, so you get clear and balanced audio. AI Mode in the TV optimizes both picture and sound by analyzing the content, your room’s setup, and ambient conditions. The ultra-slim TV has Samsung’s new Glare-Free technology.

Along with new 100-inch and 115-inch QLED 4K sizes, Samsung will also debut three new OLED TVs, including the flagship S95F.

Samsung The Frame Pro TV

Samsung The Frame Pro

One of the most exciting announcements in TVs is a new version of the popular Samsung The Frame TV. It’s called The Frame Pro. As with the Neo QLED TV, you’ll get enhanced picture quality. The Frame Pro offers brighter colours, sharper contrast, and improved local dimming to generate even deeper blacks. Powered by the NQ4 Gen3 AI processor, it comes with the Samsung Wireless One Connect box so you can eliminate wires for an even cleaner experience and more installation options.

Along with this enhanced version of The Frame TV, Samsung is also expanding its Art Store to be accessible on other Samsung TVs. This allows you to display stunning artwork when the TV isn’t on. The Samsung Art Store features more than 3,000 curated works from partners like the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the estates of Magritte and Basquiat.

Samsung partners with Google for Eclipsa Audio

Samsung has partnered with Google to integrate Eclipsa Audio 3D technology into its 2025 TV and sound bar lineup. This technology allows content creators to experience immersive audio that plays seamlessly on both TVs and sound bars. Creators can adjust audio data, such as the location and intensity of sounds, as well as spatial reflections. Later this year, you’ll also be able to upload videos with Eclipsa Audio tracks to your YouTube channel.

A note about privacy

Privacy and security are always top of mind when it comes to connected devices. This is the case with Samsung as well. As part of its strategy, Samsung has expanded its Knox Matrix security to protect home appliances, mobile devices, and TVs via blockchain technology. You can manage all your home’s security using the Samsung Knox Matrix Dashboard. Knox Matrix Credential Sync allows you to encrypt and decrypt data on your devices as well. Samsung Knox Vault, meanwhile, adds additional protection for your sensitive information, like passwords and PINs.
