Headphones come in many shapes and sizes. There are those that entirely cover the ears, and are great for sitting still, letting the music cover you like a warm, security blanket. Then there are those designed for people on the move. That’s what Jabra has created with their new ELITE line of headphones and earbuds. Take them on the bus, wear them while working out. Listen to your music anywhere, during any activity, and in any weather. Enter this contest and if you may win one of 4 pairs that Best Buy is giving away!

Headphones come in a dazzling array of styles and designs

There are many types of headphones out there to suit everyone’s personal style. Audiophiles and studio engineers gravitate toward the over-ear models, that surround the ear with cushioning, isolating them from outside noises, so the listener can concentrate on just the sounds provided through the phones.

Very similar to those are the on-ear headphones. I use this style at work because they have excellent sound, but allow some of the sounds around me in so that I am aware when a coworker asks me question. They enable me to stay alert to the people around me, which can be important at work.

Then there are a variety of in-ear styled headphones, including wired versions and many styles of wireless headphones.

Wireless headphones are for everyone

Many people think that wireless headphones are for people who have the most modern type of cell phone, one that may not have a headphone jack. Alternatively, many may assume that since the new Jabra headphones have “elite” in their name they are designed for elite athletes. However, these headphones are great for you and me, average people who love our music, want to be listen to our music anywhere, and don’t what our headphones to be destroyed by a little moisture like sweat, or the some dust we encounter on a run around our neighbourhoods or just getting off public transit.

The prizes in this contest will allow you more freedom than you are probably accustomed to with headphones. We are giving away 2 different models from the Jabra ELITE line. My favourite feature is that they do not need to connect to a phone with a wire: they connect to your phone, or tablet, or computer wirelessly using Bluetooth.

The Jabra wireless headphone prizes

The Jabra ELITE 45e noise cancelling headphones enable you to focus on your music and workout, and escape the noisy distractions around you. The flexible neck band allows you to pop them out when you want, while keeping them securely resting around your neck.

The Jabra ELITE active 65t noise cancelling truly wireless earpbuds inconspicuously rest in your ears delivering amazing audio for approximately 5 hours on a single charge—that should be ample time for your commute, or your workout (the ELITE 45e headphones will last up to about 8 hours thanks to having more room for a larger battery). Both Jabra models feature dual microphones, so when you take calls using these, both sides of the conversation will be crystal clear.

I know I want both of these, but definitely I am leaning towards the ELITE 45e as best for my needs. I like the extra battery life, and the fact that I can just rest them on my shoulders when not in use. How about you?

HOW TO ENTER

This contest is easy to enter, but you can only enter once. In a comment beneath this article, tell us which headphone style is your favourite and why. Perhaps you are a traditionalist who loves the over-ear experience. Personally, I’ve never tried Truly Wireless so I would like to try a pair to see if the freedom from wires works for me. Let us know your preference and why, and you may win one of these great Jabra headphones.

WHAT YOU CAN WIN

At the end of this contest we will select four (4) winners from all eligible entries. Two winners will receive a set of Jabra ELITE 45e headphones, and two winners will receive the Best Buy exclusive blue and copper coloured version of the Jabra ELITE active 65t truly wireless earbuds.

This contest runs from July 20th until August 5th.

Remember you can only enter once. However, you must know someone, a family member or friend, who would love a new pair of Jabra headphones. Share this contest with them so they too have a chance to win.

Good luck.

  1. I like headphones that are not wireless, personally. So the ‘over-ears’ style would do for me.

  2. I would prefer the wireless ones as Im always getting the wires tangled on my regular headphones.

  3. I prefer wireless, as they don’t get in the way while I work, and they can’t snag or be pulled out of my ear. They are also capable of better sound quality than most in-ear headphones, just as long s you remember to charge them!

  4. Currently use and like the over-ear style. Never tried the in-ear. Here’s my chance! Thanks.

  5. I prefer the wireless and have never had a pair. Would love a pair of Jabra ELITE 45e. Then I could move around and have noise cancellation.

  6. Both are nice but if I can only choose one then it would be the wireless headphones because I have never used one before that is wireless, it is more comfortable for my ears, and I always trust the sound quality of headphones. I like the fact when I’m not using it I can rest it on my shoulders. Either way I like wireless because is convenient and I can talk hands free on my phone 🙂

  7. I prefer the Jabra Elite 45e, because if they fall off my ear, I don’t want it falling on the ground and possibly breaking.

  8. I’d love to try the Jabra 45e for my workouts, I’ve never tried a wireless earphone (holy 1995!) however I would be nervous not to have the cord just in case they do fall off while I’m running, it has a better chance of staying in place…I think!

  9. i would love the true wireless for the gym. not a huge fan of the earbuds with wires to awkward.

  10. I could really use a pair of the wireless I’m always having to get new pairs of headphones every so often because they usually get messed up or a short in the cord eventually

  11. I’d like to try the Jabra Elite Active 65t In-Ear Noise Cancelling Truly Wireless Headphones because over-the-ear headphones hurt and wired buds are awkward with the wires continually getting in the way.

  12. I prefer the over the ear traditional headphones because they stay secured while exercising and also the wires keep them simple so less problems arise

  13. I like the Jabra Elite 45e. I cannot do completely wireless; I would spend too much time freaking out over the possibility of them falling out of my ears. And they would.

  14. I prefer the over the ear traditional headphones because they stay secured while exercising and also the wires keep them simple so less problems arise

  15. I like over the ear headphones because, for me, the ones directly in my ear are uncomfortable and seem to always be on the verge of falling out. The secure fit of the over the ear headphones makes it comfortable and I am able to enjoy my music listening experience this way.

  16. I love the on-ear headphones because it allows me to hear what’s around me and be aware of my surroundings when I’m on a run.

  17. In a store recently, My husband slipped a pair of wireless headphones on me . Blown Away is a small description of how I felt. It was. WOW, I can hear. Marvelous.

  18. Either or would work for me! My headphones and earbuds are always breaking, so I could always use another pair! Especially good quality ones that last!

  19. I prefer the over ear due to comfort. I’ve never tried on ear! In ear tends to be very uncomfortable. Thank you for the opportunity!

  20. Nice ‘n lightweight, I’d prefer the Jabra Elite 45e noise cancelling earbuds, as we truly can’t hear my son’s music when he wears them : P

  21. Jabra ELITE 45e would be the ones! Having them on my neck would eliminate the “where did I put them down” that happens regularly.

  22. I prefer the over the ear headphones because of their noise cancelling quality. The downside is that they are bulky for travel. I have never tried noise cancelling earbuds so maybe that would become my new favourite.
