Home theatre projectors are one of my favourite technologies. I love going to the movies. Projectors bring that experience into your home to enjoy whenever you want. You can choose to mount it to create a designated theatre room, or you can keep it mobile so one day it’s in the living room for a movie, the next day in the basement for gaming, or in the kids room for a sleep over. Find out for yourself; enter this contest and you might win the amazing BenQ Cinehome 4K UHD HDR home theatre projector.
How amazing is the BenQ 4K projector
This is probably something that many people are wondering. We asked Erin Lawrence, Editor of Home Theatre on the blog and also a veteran of television news with CTV in Calgary, to try this projector and give us her honest opinion.
(NOTE: whenever we send out products for review we expect the writers to give their honest opinion so our customers know what to expect when they get the product to their home.)
In her written review and video review, Erin highly endorsed this projector. Here are some of the highlights of her review:
- The picture was amazing, despite her not having a white wall or a projection screen as a backdrop. (She actually projected it onto a blue wall and still she thought the image was great!)
- The image was bright, clear and showed accurate, crisp colours, even when the room was brightly lit.
- The fan (something that used to drive me crazy on an older projector I once had in my home) was barely noticeable and did not take away from the enjoyment of using this projector.
She also pointed out some of the things that people will consider adding to their home to make the experience even better.
How would you improve your own home theatre experience
Okay so let’s just suppose that you were the winner of this contest. Picture that! Where will you place it in your home? Would you mount it on the ceiling, or keep it mobile so you can move it from room to room?
Importantly, what technology would you need to make the home theatre experience truly complete? I’m not talking about a popcorn maker: that’s a given! Would you be looking to add a projection screen, or would you just choose a white wall (or paint a wall white for this best results). Would you look at getting a surround sound or ATMOS system ?Erin said that the sound from the projector is okay, but your home theatre would be much better with great home theatre audio. Would you add a 4K blu-ray player and start collecting a library of 4K movies to show on this 4K projector?
There are so many possibilities, and I didn’t even talk about home theatre seating. What would you consider adding to your home if you win this amazing projector?
HOW TO ENTER
Entering this contest is really easy but you can only enter once. First imagine that you did win this contest (Visualization is the first step toward making something a reality!). Next think about the things you will need to create a perfect 4K home theatre experience in your home. I listed some possibilities above. In a comment below, tell us what you would love to add to your home if you won this projector.

I’ve been thinking of adding home theatre type seating for a while. And winning this projected might be the excuse I need to get it done!
Paint the wall the sharpest white to help the projector picture pop.
I would rip off the pictures off the wall, get 3 lazy boys and a portable fridge and i am off to the races!
My TV is getting old . I would love to win this . A little redecorating and we’re good to go !
I would add a surround sound system to maximize the experience!
Amazing system. My Grandsons would love !
I would defiantly by a screen to pull down from the ceiling when in use and back up when we are using the space for other occasions.
I need a sheet or something to watch it with and maybe a sweet sound system to complete the experience
I would have to have a hot dog cart….popcorn cart and an awesome surround sound system!
It is my dream to get a home theatre projector, along with a projection screen that can disappear from view when not in use. Two of our neighbours have this set-up, and it’s such fun watching anything from a hockey game to a movie on a huge screen! I would definitely consider the BenQ4K projector after reading this blog. I love that the fan noise is barely noticeable, and that the image is super clear with great colour, even when the room is brightly lit (something I was concerned about). So thank you for this information!
Definitely need a sound system to go with projector for a home theatre.
some seating & surround system
I would buy an Xbox One so I could play games on the awesome projector!
If I won this projector, I would have to buy a sweet surround sound speaker set to make it the best theater experience at home!
If I won this I would need surround sound to match the amazing picture quality ❤️
I would want to add a nice sound system
This sounds too good to be true. We are presently rebuilding our home after having had a fire. Once the dry wall was completed and we looked at the attached garage and the vaulted ceiling, my husband decided the back wall would make an incredible drive in home theater! Initially i thought he was nuts, but, must say it would work incredibly well. I am presently on the lookout for car seats for seating that recline and allow proper viewing and am hoping to find old drive in theater speakers, working or not that would produce the authentic drive in feel! With a wall that is 16 feet high and 30 feet wide it would truly be awesome even from the driveway! Thank goodness for living in the country.
enjoy some family pictures
I would be thrilled to place this in our family room. I would need to buy some La-Z-Boy chairs so that we can lean back and relax to watch the great shows!
I would really need a sound system along with apple tv or something to stream movies.
A theatre room
I would love to get a nice comfy couch and get my family together to watch some great movies as a family.
Wow love to win this…basement remodel needed to adapt it. or maybe I could use that large wall in the entryway…hmm possibilities oh the possibilities.
I would have to get a mini fridge and a popcorn machine in the room to make it complete! I would love to win this 🙂
defiantly would need some theatre seating
Im finishi g my basement and this would be the perfect thing to build around. I have a wall just waiting for the BenQ 4k picture quality!
I would love to show off the BenQ Cinehome 4K UHD HDR Home Theatre Projector. It would love to see what this power house would project in our living room. I would host regular movie parties for our friends and family. I can visualize it now!
Clearly a popcorn maker would make a cinema room complete!
What a great projector. Would be fun movie nights.
Would need to investigate either repainting the wall or a screen to be paired with the projector. Other AV components are already in place.
If I won this projector, I would definitely add some theatre seating, as well as some mood lighting for before and after my movie ends! I have two perfect walls in my apartment that already are used as screens.
Definitely need some home theater seating to go with this.
If I win this projector, I would like to add home theatre seating to my home. I’ve always wanted one of those couches with built-in recliners and cup holders.
I would first keep it mobile and purchase a home theater system, as a college student I’m always hosting movie nights on a 32 inch tv 720p resolution, so having a 4k projector would be amazing! I would also purchase a projector screen to get the best backdrop possible for the high resolution.
A great set of speakers to go along with the amazing 4K quality
This would be an amazing addition to my new condo! Just moved out of the parents house and a BenQ 4K HDR home theatre Projector would be the perfect addition to my living room! Movie night at my place every weekend! Just have to stock up on cozy blankets and a popcorn machine 🙂
Building a new house. This would be great for a home theater room.
Hello Best Buy! I would love to showcase the beautiful BenQ Cinehome 4K UHD HDR Home Theatre Projector. It would love to see what this beauty would project in our living room. We would host monthly movie parties for our friends and neighbours! I can see it now!
This projector would go in my unfinished basement hanging from the ceiling. I have recently purchased a 120″ screen and have plans to buy a ht3050 in the near future but a free 4K 2550 would be much better! In time some walls, carpet, fancy lights, atmos and maybe even a cool looking popcorn machine. Until then who’s even gonna notice any of that except the giant 4K Tv!!!
what a great setup when i win i would upgrade to the ATMOS system as well as the projection screen and the 4k bluray player,as well as new reclining sofa and chairs
I would paint a white wall and invite all my friends over for a harry potter marathon!
This would be the crown jewel for my mancave!
An outdoor projector screen for backyard bbq world cup parties this summer.
We’d mount it to the ceiling in the living room. Would probably get a screen rather than painting a wall white.
I would probably need to add a proper projector screen (minimum 120″).
oh! I don’t lack imagination but if I had to build my home theatre I am a vintage freak. I would get old velvet arm chairs and restore them, get an old fashioned popcorn machine, velvet curtains with tassels, vintage movie posters, an old but clean carpet, put a screen up and the projector with a sound system. Sonos or Bose.
One of thise giant bean bag chairs than can fit 5 people!!
A popcorn machine!
I’m ready to pull the trigger on a projector home theatre setup! I’d need a projector, screen, cabling and a sound bar!
Would be painting a wall white and investing in a good surround system! (and snacks.. lots and lots of snacks.)
