We sent these out for an independent, honest review—and those reviews were very positive—but the best way to find out how good a speaker sounds to you, is to bring it into your home and try it out. What do you look for in new speakers

Great sound! That should be the number one reason to get a new speaker. However, in recent years, people have been compromising on the quality of the speakers to gain functionality. Most recently, for instance, the hottest speakers have come from Google and Amazon; they have small speakers that deliver “okay” sound. Their main feature, though, is the included voice assistant. I think they are really cool (since last year I have purchased seven of them and given most of them away as gifts—and kept 3 for myself!).

Polk Audio speakers, on the other hand, offer great sound. You aren’t compromising on sound quality with Polk. Of course, Polk is evolving to keep up with the needs of current consumers: consumers like me and many others with a love for smart speakers.

Google assist and Polk in one compact package

As I said at the beginning of this article, we sent out some Polk audio speakers for honest reviews. Those reviews were very positive. For example, Erin reviewed the Polk MagniFi Mini and thought the quality was “outstanding.” Here is her video review:

Blogger Darren Blakeborough reviewed the Polk Assist speaker and loved the versatility: it comes with Google Assistant built-in! Darren loved that it delivered awesome audio quality and had the incredible smart functionality of Google’s voice assistant in one package. If I had this I’d put the Polk Assist in the dining room, and the Polk Magnify Mini with my television, so that I could have multi-room audio, all controlled with either my voice or my phone.   7. I would love a speaker with voice control so I don’t have to hunt for the remote that my child has stashed away somewhere.

  19. Great audio is a must, but size is also very important. No need for the huge towers from yesteryears, now we get great sound from bookshelf speakers and Polk Audio is a leader in that domain.

  21. In a speaker I definitely look for audio quality because I’m comstantly listening to music while doing chores, activities & work so I need the sound to be sharp with the ability to travel. I also look for durability. A speaker that can take a few hitd and still work well. Im very accident prone and clumsy so I need a durable speaker.

  27. I want true, clear, rich sound. I still have my 20 yr old stereo, haven’t gone wireless yet. Voice control is a nice add, but the quality of the sound is #1.

  28. Sound! Has to be clear, with good lows through highs. What good is a speaker without good audio! Make the music feel like it’s live.

  30. I look for clarity of sound, I want to hear all the voice inflections and a true bass sound, but not a pounding bass.

  35. I would love great audio quality for listening to my music because I love my music and want to listen to it as clear as possible!

  43. Finding a speaker with great audio is a must, especially when watching TV or movies. Having to rewind and replay short bits to try to decipher parts of dialogue is annoying. A good speaker would help to clear up this mumble.
