The first speakers I bought for myself when I moved into my own apartment was a set of expensive tower speakers.   1. The Mythos sound bar would work best in our downstairs tv room but I’m sure my husband will have no trouble incorporating the tower speakers!

  15. Active loudspeakers offer much, much more “bang for the buck”. You are paying for engineering, not looks. You are paying for what matters in accurate sound reproduction: low Total Harmonic Distortion and a Flat Frequency Response. These things matter in the sound engineering worldt. Like any consumer product, there is a “marketing cost” built into them. But the market for powered speakers, and the money spent on marketing to its consumers is quite small. That is reflected in the cost of the product.
