DJI drones are versatile for photography and really fun to fly. Their newest model, the DJI Mavic Air 2, can film in 4K at 60 frames per second! That is seriously amazing. It can reach amazing heights, speeds, and distances, so it’s much more than a toy. However, when used responsibly it elevates your senses—you’ll feel like you’re a bird in the sky! Read more about the newest drone in the DJI family, then enter for a chance to win the demo model that we had reviewed on the blog.

What can you do with a drone

A drone is more than just a flying camera. It does fly; and it has a camera. But fly a drone and suddenly you realize this is a very unique experience. First there is the feeling of lift-off—you’ll never forget that surge of excitement. Remember you are in control, elevating, tilting, drifting to the left and right. There is a learning curve, but it’s not steep; quickly you adjust your perspective to react appropriately to capture the bird’s eye view of your surroundings. If you are able to use it near your home, you’ll will gain a new appreciation for the world around you. For me, rising about ten metres above my house allowed me to capture a view of several gulf islands including Saltspring and Pender.

DJI packs their drones with amazing features

With the new DJI Mavic Air 2, you will be able to do so much more than you might think from the moment you turn it on. It is so easy to use. We sent the prize for this contest to Shelly to test it out and she was amazed that she instantly was able to capture smooth, professional looking videos, right out of the box. Watch her video to see some of the images of her farm taken with the drone.

Shelly shows what’s included with the drone, how to assemble the drone, and offers some tips on how to fly it. She also speaks to many of the unique features that enable you to do some really interesting things with simple menu selections. I love the Helix Quickshot function!

The Mavic Air 2 has many features to help you get the most from flying it. It can even help you find safe flying areas near your home. This is very important; you will want to be sure about what areas near you allow drones and if there are maximum height restrictions too. You should read Shelly’s article for a more in-depth descripton of some of the key features that she tested. Be sure to return to this page to learn what you need to do to enter our contest.

  1. Oh man, my favourite magical skills of the DJIMA2 would be the combo of its low light feature with Quickshot — for ultra-cool beach shots at dusk!

  2. The auto-landing feature would be fantastic for my kids and I!!! We always seem to crash land when I fly my friend’s drone. Thanks for the opportunity! Best Buy rules!!

  3. The auto-landing feature would be great. I always crash land when I fly my friend’s drone.

  4. To tell the truth, the feature I most look forward to is the camera and what it can do. I already own a breeze 4K which I found to be good, but the camera doesn’t have a stabilizing gimble. Video is at the mercy of the drone and is chopy at times. Also speed, flight time, and distance are of great advantage to me. Cheers

  5. I’d be excited to try the new photo features including SmartPhoto, Hyperlight, Panorama, and HDR!

  6. I would love to get this for my dad on father’s day but i can’t afford it, winning this would be amazing and I would love to give it to him. He loves the auto takeoff and landing, it would make it so much easier to land without crashing. Being able to fly the drone 5,000 metres high would be amazing for wide birds-eye view shots. the three-axis gimbal stabilization would be great when flying in windy conditions.

  9. The Max distance of 10km will be fun to play with alongside the Obstacle avoidance feature. smashing a drone is the only thing I’d be scared of

  10. Hmm, flying in low light, definitely. I would like to capture a 4K video of my area during the sunset!

  11. pop into your backpack or bag for easy transport. The drone itself only weighs 1.25 lbs (0.57 kg)

  12. the auto-landing and take-off would be amazing as I would think that is the highest risk area of damaging the drone.

    Have a great day!

  13. So many features! Love the Quickshot. Capture cinematic video clips automatically with QuickShots. With just a few taps, Mavic Air 2 plans and flies a complicated aerial route for a professional-quality shot. Would use this the most when on vacation.

  14. It can even help you find safe flying areas near your home. Helps knowing the legalities o fusing one.

  15. The automatic return home feature is excellent for teaching our grand-daughters the basics . A must so we aren’t hunting in the crops.

  16. I agree with the article and would be excited to get the chance to use the Helix Quickshot function. Thanks for the opportunity!

  17. my daughter would love this for the camera! she is a photography/traveller/social media guru – she has often said how much she would love to own a drone someday! this would be an awesome surprise for her 19th birthday!

  18. The auto take-off and landing would be perfect for people like me who don’t know what they are doing

  19. Le suivi automatique qui permet de verrouiller un sujet et de le suivre est certainement intéressant pour suivre des animaux en nature

  20. My husband has one of these and loves it. I’d love to have my own since I’m a novice and terrified I’m gonna break his. 😀

  21. I want this! And especially I want the new feature that helps me find safe flung areas around me!
